This was also my first time dropping off an Amazon return here and the gentleman working gave me some good guidance and information on when to expect the refund and the process. I have complicated printing issues and although it takes time to prepare my requests, I'm given a realistic date and they have always come through. I don't know how long yelp keeps negative stuff on file but once a problem is identified and fixed, shouldn't there be a system to fix yelps rating system? I will say the online system does not work. Instead, make a phone call ahead of time explaining what you need and when. It makes all the difference. When you have a procedures document you need to be printed because you are "old school" and like having that paper copy, just call, get the email, e-mail the doc, and pick it up when they say it will be ready. Past reviews mentioned a manager who believed customers come to the upsstore to serve him and not the other way around. Today's staff is most responsive to client needs and realizes without customers you don't have a job. At the risk of sounding like they paid me to write this believe me - being in a service industry myself -- this UPS Store is doing their best to serve you. If you read this far once you have seen their customer service please post your results as a flood of positive reviews is the only way to correct yelps low rating for this outstanding store. This particular item was not eligible for the clear bag and required a poly- mailer. I was helping a gentleman at the counter, and when he sealed my package, he told me I owed him for packaging. The amount was minimal. The point was he did not tell me there was a charge prior to sealing the pack. when I expressed my dismay over the fact he did not tell me there was a charge, he said that's why you had to come to the counter for us to pack it. Well, this was my first experience for I was directed to the counter for a return and the kiosk, nor the employee told me there was a "charge." I told him I would just take my item back and he said "I've already sealed it, so you have to pay" I tried to explain it was the principle behind what happened and not necessarily the cost. The gentleman then said "you know what- just forget it- I'll take care of it." Without admitting any error on his part, he made me, the customer feel as if I was totally out of line because I asked "why I was not told about the charge prior to him using his product. I usually have a positive experience in this store but today the vibe was not happening.

My concern began with what I felt was unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from a clerk. As a customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect, even when there is a disagreement or misunderstanding. What was even more disappointing was the response I received after bringing my concerns to management. Rather than acknowledging or addressing the behavior I experienced, the response appeared to focus on defending the employee. At no point did I feel that my concerns were genuinely heard or taken seriously. Customer service is not only about the interaction at the counter. It is also about how concerns are handled when a customer takes the time to provide feedback. In my case, I was left feeling dismissed and unsupported. Based on my experience, both the customer service and complaint-resolution process at this location need significant improvement. I hope management will take future customer concerns more seriously and view them as opportunities to improve rather than simply defend the status quo.

SOCO has two spots in Columbia, one in the Vista and one in the Bull Street District. I prefer Bull Street because parking there is free, and most seem to want to work in the Vista location so the Bull Street one is more quiet while the Vista is better for more social driven interaction. The staff at SOCO are super cool and friendly, other business people there rule, and the community events are pretty cool. Rules are totally flexible, meeting rooms rock, free awesome coffee and beer everyday and much more. If you want a spot to work every once or even if your looking for private offices SOCO has you covered.

In love with this coworking space!…read more While traveling for work, I often play the coffeeshop hop which can get exhausting. You can only have so many coffees and teas in one day. Not to mention the never ending search for an open outlet to keep the laptop charged. For only $20, I got a day pass to SOCO and would return in a heartbeat the next time I'm in Columbia. The entrance is a bit hidden on a side street of Gervais. From there, it's on the second floor. The wood floors, brick walls, dim lighting, and open feel create a really nice atmosphere for getting work done. There is a kitchen area, couch, and a variety of desks (including a standing one!) to hang out around. For conferences, they do have private rooms that are normally just for members to use. And yes, there are more outlets than one could ever need. Members have 24 hours access and gain entry with a fob, while the main doors close at 5:00 pm to visitors. Thanks SOCO for letting me crash for a couple of days. I'll definitely be back!
