I…read morescheduled my appointment for June 11th at 11:45, checked in, got taken back for X-Rays, then put back in the waiting room. I asked how long my Oral Surgery would take and they said, "Oh About 30-40 mins". So I thought to myself, it is now 2pm, and I am still waiting in the waiting room for a 30 min procedure. The math wasn't adding up, and the waiting room was FULL of people. I rescheduled for a week later, for the morning, and I was only waiting for about 15mins this time before surgery began. All in all, Dr.Selznick seemed friendly and quick. The procedure room was slightly off-putting, because there air conditioner had been out there was a fan/swamp cooler against the wall making noise. My surgery did only take 30 minutes and I was out of there. The annesthesia wasn't BAD to where I couldn't walk or really function, I was just slightly loopy for a couple hours. It is now day 3 since the surgery and I am actually just in slight discomfort, not really pain! I have only read 1 Yelp review about things turning out very bad for her since her surgery with Selznick, but I am doing fine for the most part!

One article called it one of the worst hospitals in America, in the bottom 5% of all hospitals. My stories are lengthy. One story, I was in a car accident and had car window glass in my head and face, and both arms. So they had to remove it, no problem. This EMT was scrubbing the wounds on my face after they removed all the glass, and I kept flinching. He told me to "man up and quit being a baby" when I kept flinching. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and saw a glint. It was a rectangle of car window glass. He had been scrubbing it into my face. Everyone I know in Elko since 1979 will do ANYTHING to avoid going to this hospital; if they need care, they BEG to please be taken ANYWHERE else. Most of us get all our care in Salt Lake City, where the difference in the level of care is striking. Another story was that I had a long-term illness in Elko lasting 10 months. I went to the doctors so many times, and they could see I was sick; my blood tests proved it, but they didn't know what to do. Finally a nurse took me aside and advised me to go to Salt Lake. I asked my PCP to refer me, but he said, "I don't know anyone to refer you to". So I went without a referral. In Salt Lake, they admitted me to the hospital immediately, where I almost died. They said it was miraculous that I lived after not receiving care for so long. They also said they see cases like mine routinely from Elko, Ely, and other towns in Nevada. If you willingly go to this hospital, you're a damn fool.
