Such nice guys-- we stopped by the firehouse at 9 pm because my husband had jammed his finger on a river trip and it was swollen.

Had a friend of mine call 911 the other night because of what happened to someone in the middle of…read morethe night. Was a very weird scene. She and I saw things that were brand new to us. The Fire Dept came out FAST! It was 1AM and they were so considerate of the neighbors. We live in an Apt complex, and they made sure they were quiet coming in and during the process. I met them in the parking lot, showed them the way, and then got the heck out of their way. Watching them was a trip. They were all so calm, experienced, and knew exactly what to do. You know they get training, but to see it in action was quite a sight. It was almost like a well orchestrated concert. Everyone played a part and did it well. I think our fire, police, and other emergency people need to be thanked a lot more than they are. We call on them during a panic situation and they come in fast to make things better. Thanks for being there for me and my friend when we needed you most!

So Sunday morning I left the house rather hurriedly, and when I got to the City it dawned on me…read morethat I wasn't sure if I turned off the broiler. I was totally freaked, embarrassed, but my friend convinced me the Fire Department wouldn't laugh, and they didn't. At least to my face. The dispatch woman was totally cool about it, I apologized profusely. They entered my house, assured everything was *off* and called to tell me so. Love them. Relax, wine now... Images of firemen tromping through my house, yay. Sorry about the whole tax-payer shit.

This is specifically a 5 star rating for Cristina Cisneros with the department of housing and…read morecommunity services. Cristina is the housing administrative secretary located at the senior center. In 2024 concord enacted their "Residential Tenant Protection Program" municipal code 19.40 Their portal was down, the requirements to register changed, and the system was overloaded. Over 9000 rentals in concord were affected. I am not only a Renter & Tenant myself, but I also own rentals as a landlord and manage property. We love our tenants and the blue collar landlords that we work with- but hate these new regulations. Cristina was very knowledgeable in helping us navigate setting up the portal and registering multiple properties. Her insight, knowledge and expertise was a tremendous help!!! She gave us her personal card and email so we can follow up with questions (which I will be Sharing with tenants and landlord both) Her honestly, advice and resources were a breath of fresh air considering how difficult it has been trying to navigate and interpret the new law. Unfortunately, I think the additional red tape will cause rental prices to increase in concord, and in the long run will damage the free market. That being said- it's nice to know we have someone who is a neutral 3rd party we can go to for advice. Special thanks to Cristina Cisneros. I'm sure the city never checks yelp but hopefully this will help other landlords and tenants.
