Great breakfast sandwich and also great lunch food options. They have a hot food case with many options to choose from. Service is great. Herbert and Janet are fun to be around, they treat everyone like family!

    Delicious rice, plaintains

Am overlooked gem. If you want some comfort Latin food without paying East End seasonal pricing this is it. A small shop it packs food with seasoning and love. And when you need a break from seafood this is the place. Tables located outside for family style eating.

Increasingly in Montauk it is getting harder and harder to find any sort of deal when it comes to.. well anything. I guess all the locals are millionaires now! Good for them, perhaps not so much for tourists. This is a great little market with Latin style. As our usual, we grab a quick breakfast before sitting in traffic on Montauk highway trying to make our way home after the weekend. The service here was very friendly, very reasonable and very tasty. The decor was a blue and white beachy feel - I like the white subway tiles behind the counter. All our breakfast sandwiches were fresh and well made - crisp bacon, generous eggs and cheese with varied choices of bagel, roll, croissant, etc. We received our sandwiches in 5 mins after ordering - add quick and efficient to the list. They had some good looking hot food in the steam trays - Chicharrón, Empanada, Tostones, sausages, yuca, papas rellenas, and more (see pic). All looking very good - too bad we were here for breakfast. Don't want to deal with long lines and waits at other places? Come here and you won't regret it.

I was for the first time here in the Summer of 2015 and did not post a review. This memorial day weekend I was back in the area and had the Cuban sandwich and it was very tasteful. Also the chicken empanada was good.

Sausage egg and cheese on a roll was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is also very nice and attentive.

Great Colombian breakfast. A must when you are in Mtk. Try the eggs with the calentado rice and beans.

Read reviews that Herb's Market has the best fried chicken in town! And it absolutely was!…read more I was exploring Montauk Village Main St with my parents and we stumbled upon the market. Much to my surprise, the place was quite empty walking in maybe due to its huge space. My dad wanted deli meats, but I recommended the fried chicken. My parents sat down at these large picnic benches while I ordered a bunch of fried chicken by the piece! When I got to the counter, the guy informed me that there was only white meat left and that he would put in a new batch of dark meat now. I waited patiently for 15 minutes while the new batch was fried. Then, I ordered a bunch of wings, legs, and a thigh. I'm so happy we were able to order by piece because nobody likes white meat in my family even though it's the most meaty. I was also surprised that the white meat costs the most! The chicken was beautifully battered and flavored. Not too thick nor too salty! It was out of this world and it is what will bring me back to Montauk. The place also sells a bunch of pantry items, sandwiches, salads, and drinks. Once you order you pay at the cash register by the front door. Very friendly people!

Thank goodness Herb's Market is still around offering hearty deli sandwiches, freshly made fried chicken and ribs, beverages, salads and more. All served up by friendly young personnel with no sneering pretentious vibes in sight.

Title: The Human Raincloud of the Montauk IGA…read more I've been shopping at the Montauk IGA for years and can say, without hesitation, that it's usually a shining example of small-town warmth and friendliness. The staff is famously helpful, cheerful, and welcoming -- which is why encountering Dayanara at the checkout feels like suddenly stepping into a thunderstorm in the middle of a sunny day. It's as if her job description reads: "Scowl, sigh heavily, and make customers question all their life choices." She manages to inject rudeness into the most basic exchanges, going out of her way to be curt, unhelpful, and generally unpleasant. If Montauk ever needed a mascot for passive-aggressive hostility, she'd be overqualified. This isn't a case of someone having a bad day -- this is a professional commitment to being a human sandpaper strip. The contrast with the rest of the staff is so stark it's almost performance art. For the sake of the store's otherwise stellar reputation, she should be moved into a role that doesn't involve live humans. Stock room. Night shift. Mars. Anywhere but the checkout lane. IGA Montauk, keep doing what you do best -- just maybe reassign your resident mood assassin before she convinces visitors that "Montauk charm" is a myth.
