Ive had dogs all my life and taken them to a variety of groomers and training facilities. All pleasant experiences. It's not the case at Contented Canines. Where do I begin?!?
I'll start w the most recent and upsetting experience involving grooming. I brought in my gorgeous Australian Labradoodle with the most beautiful coat that never matts and spectacular head and face. I took home a chopped up version of a poodle . Her beard was completely sheared of or chopped off and her ears were cut very high. Her feet were coir pointed like a poodle. Look up Australian Labradoodles to see the proper trim.
Anyway, I was not given my much deserved refund even though I was specific in what I expected her to look like when I brought her in. I spoke with the owner of facility and she was unsympathetic and unwilling to believe what took place. No refund. I took my doodle to be hopefully evened up since she was chopped and had another bath even though it was only 2 days since last one. She was dirty according to the new groomer and my dog hadn't been outside playing at all other than to potty on leash for those two days. The groomer at Contented a Canines hasn't a clue as to what breeds cuts should look like. She's terrible and with a terribly rude attitude. I doubt if she had any formal groomer training and if so, she didn't pay attention.
On another matter, I paiid over $300 for obedience classes for my dog and that of my son's puppy. Several family medical issue came up preventing us from bringing our dogs to the classes. Neither classes were booked up and I gave notice way ahead of the weeks the classes were to take place. The owner refused to refund the money...not even 1/2 due to medical circumstances....not even one nickel. The medical issues continue and we will not ever be able to attend any classes. I am out $350. A lot of money. The owner is unbending, unreasonable and unapproachable on all levels. I have never dealt with anyone so unbendable, cold hearted and with absolutely no regard for the pleas of clients. She also doesn't seem to mind that the groomer she employs is rude and whiny to clients.....and that she has no idea how to groom dogs. She also cut the nose of my do and didn't tell me.
On a side note, the facility itself is depressing with that dark, yellowish , sleepy lighting that isn't cheerful at all. The potty area is about 8x10 square area . The place just isn't nice........ The owner not about to be helpful to clients regarding anything. It's all about the money and nothing more. Bad place, horrible groomer. Stay away! read more
