As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a gentleman (I wish I'd gotten his name!) who immediately made us feel welcome. He was friendly, clearly passionate about books, and incredibly knowledgeable. He asked if it was our first time visiting, and when we said yes, he surprised us with an amazing gesture....a free book, each, tailored to our favorite genres. We were blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness. The store itself is a treasure. Books galore, neatly organized by genre, and the place is not super larger, but makes you just want to look at it all. They also have a great selection of puzzles throughout. It's obvious that this place is loved -- both by the people who work there and those who visit. I purchased one book and I felt the price was reasonable. I can't wait to come back to Red Wing and when I do, I think another stop at this charming bookstore is on the list. Highly recommend to any fellow book lovers!

Plus, there are several dining options near by that I love (I am looking at you, San Pedro cafe). The back of the store has a vintage area with ample non-bookish gifts. I found the book selection extremely small, and this wouldn't be my first stop if seeking a new book to read. Further, the organization of the shelved books felt wild with genres seemingly mixed. The staff were pleasant and helpful; and I, also, appreciated the parking in front of the store.

I started going there as a child in the late 1980s. The owner is a friendly, knowledgable guy who is there most of the time and the other staff are helpful, too. It feels great to support such a wonderful small business! Even if you don't find exactly what you may be looking for when you walk in the door, you'll probably find something on their rich shelves! The employees are very friendly and there if you have any questions. The price range varies depending on the item. You can find things that are reasonable priced to more expensive pieces.
