This is probably the nicest apartment that I've ever lived in, although I'm not sure to what extent that's praise to Contempo Lane, or an indictment of my previous apartments. It's nice and spacious, and was reasonably priced when I moved in, although it's quite a bit less so now as I've been here quite a few years and the rent keeps going up. I will say that I have never lived anywhere where the water is shut off even a tenth as frequently as here. As I write this, the water is currently off for the second time this week. They (usually) let us know in advance via the apartment's app, but if you're like me, I get so many useless notifications on my phone (including from said app itself) that I seldom see it, and usually I find out by something like going to take a shower and having nothing happen when I turn in on. read more

Lived here for almost a year and have absolutely no complaints. Every time something has broke etc maintenance is there the next day. Very nice people in the office and they are very understanding of your needs. I see people have posted pictures of cockroaches and ants. This is Florida, I don't care if you move into a $1,000 unit or a $10,000 unit, it's going to happen. They offer pest control every month cycling through the buildings. I've lived in many apartments here in Pinellas county and this has been the best experience so far! read more

I am a current tenet and have not been here super long, but as the other reviews are 4 years old I figured it would be good to update so people searching for an apartment can read a review. We moved from the North and so far Contempo Lane has been great! There have been several maintenance issues but they were all fixed the same day with the exception of an AC issue which was fixed next day, which was the fastest possible response. The people that we've met here are all friendly and it has so far proven to be a great place to live. If you are searching for an apartment in Pinellas this is a great place, as it's also by downtown Dunedin and the Pinellas Trail, both of which we love. read more

Do you enjoy sharing your apartment with roaches, ants, and lizards? How about sewers backing up into your toilets and spilling over onto your floors, not to mention leaving your lawn covered in used toilet paper? Do you want to come home on rainy days and wade through rushing water above your ankles just to get into your apartment? How appealing is showering in a slippery, peeling, painted over tub kit that requires a squeegee to get the water to go down the drain? Are you comfortable knowing that another apartment in your building is plagued with mold? Or hearing every step your upstairs neighbors take on creaky old floors? Do you have money to replace your tires when you drive over screws that are carelessly sprinkled in the parking lot by construction crews? How do you like constant construction noise and frequent water shutoffs? Or living with the smell of garbage (not in cans of course), put out by inconsiderate neighbors, days before scheduled pickup? Dodging piles of dog waste on lawns and sidewalks? Do you feel safe when bicycles are parked blocking access to the fire extinguisher for your building? Or when undesirable people who are not on their lease move in with your neighbors? If any of this appeals to you, and you want to pay $1400 per month or more to live in such luxury, then Contempo Lane is the place for you! Pest control is substandard. There are ants all over the property and you get them inside your door tracks and apartment. You get a quarterly visit from an exterminator who puts a dab of roach killer on your cabinet hinges. He told me I needed new door gaskets to keep the pests out. Contempo Lane maintenance told me they were unavailable and stuck some cheap foam around my door. Even small geckos got inside my apartment--not to mention roaches the size of my palm. Contempo Lane will send the exterminator out as many times as you ask, but if they don't seal off the entry points, what good is it? The sewers in Building M backed up three times in less than a year. Toilets overflowed. There was toilet paper and who knows what else all over the lawn. The residents had to clean the resulting filthy messes themselves. Every time it rains a stream of water rushes down the walkway between Buildings M and N. Residents refer to this as "the river" or "the waterfront view". Not only was this dangerous to walk through, but it soaked and ruined your shoes. We complained repeatedly and management promised to fix it. They told us they were going to build a wall, install special drains--I heard twice that work was going to start on Tuesday--but those Tuesdays came and went with no action. Showers and tubs get painted over instead of replaced. The painting is sloppy--they even paint over hair--and it peels. Shower floors are uneven, so water, soap, shampoo, and hair conditioner pool up in the sides and you must push them down the drain. Painting in general is unprofessional. When tenants move out, they just slap a coat of paint on the walls and before long old stains start bleeding through. If I set anything plastic down on my carpet, it got wet underneath. I quickly learned not to do this. I ran two dehumidifiers 24/7 and had to empty them at least weekly. I avoided mold, but others were not so fortunate. They're in the process of insulating the upstairs floors as tenants move out, but if you're unfortunate enough to have an apartment under tenants who have lived there for a few years, you're going to hear them walking around no matter how much they try to keep quiet. If your neighbors work second shift, I promise you that your sleep is going to be interrupted when they get home from work. Contempo Lane installed new windows last fall. The parking lot was a minefield of screws. One punctured the sidewall of my tire. I used to pick up screws when I walked to the mailbox and take them to the management office, so they were aware. We had to live with trucks and constant pounding and drilling while this project went on for months. Some of the recurring plumbing problems required jackhammering and shutting off the water for hours. There were all kinds of rules in the lease about trash, pets, keeping entranceways clear, what can go on patios, and how long guests can stay. Unfortunately, these rules were not enforced very well. Complaining was a waste of time. The managers on site don't appear to have any real power, and the staff changed frequently so you had to start your complaints all over again. I lived there 18 months and there were 3 different property managers, 3 different maintenance supervisors, and 4 different leasing coordinators during that time span. The location is great, but you can do a whole lot better for the money. Don't let the pretty model unit, the landscaping around the office, or the misspelled words painted on the gym walls fool you. Avoid this place, the rent is cheap in this areas; because these apartments are not worth it. My experience was awful, I was moving from Virginia Beach, VA to Dunedin, FL. This was two months in the making. We originally had one apartment set, however they called us back after a month of talking about this apartment and told me that they could not give us that apartment anymore because the tenants changed their mind and wanted to stay so they had to get another apartment for us, and they would hold this apartment until we got there. So we finally arrive, we signed the contract as we were going to see the apartment. Once we got inside, it was nothing like we were told. This was suppose to be a smart home, which meant a smart lock and a electronic thermostat. A true smart home would have not only an electronic door lock and thermostat, but also appliances, Lighting, outdoor sensors and the ability to control all of these systems from your phone. It was false advertising. Then the carpets literally had what looked light poop in both bedrooms, and when brought to the attention of the manager, he said they passed a carpet test; and a copy of this test was not provided. There was water damage throughout the apartment, with the baseboards warping outward; and the manager said there was nothing he could do about the foundation of the house. The property manager was unable to give us a livable apartment; and not having another option to move into a home that was ready, and for having two months to prep for our arrival shows that they truly didn't care about us as people and just wanted a terrible apartment rented out. After all this was brought to the property managers attention, we told them that this was not a fair situation for us and our two children; so instead they gave us back or rent but held our security deposit due to the fact they needed to find another tenant, and since they had to replace the carpets, that could take some time. So they took over $800 to remove us from the least that was signed 20 mins prior, and since it was the 4th of July weekend, they knew they could take advantage and did so. Unprofessional and down right nasty people. I hope the tenants there can find better homes with management that cares. read more

I love living here. The grounds, office employees and the hard working maintenance employees they make living here a joy. Things are taken care of within a reasonable time frame. The pool is always clean and ready for a swim (could open a little earlier for those who like to get in a morning workout). Brain and his crew stop and ask you how things are in your unit as they are always out and about doing things. And the upgrades..wow. I recently moved in and everyone has been so wonderful. Kerri helped me with my move in process and I was a pain in the butt and she was super helpful. After several emails back and forth to this apartment community, my husband and I decided to go check them out in person. When we walked into the Leasing Office, Rocio (the person who I had been communicating with via email) greeted us. We introduced ourselves and told her that we were renting a home in the area but were looking to move in the next 3-4 months and wanted to see a model. She was rude and could not be bothered. She told us she didn't have anything available until May. When I mentioned a waitlist, she said that they had one but I guess she wasn't interested in us possibly getting on it! . We could tell she did not want to show us anything and another group of 3 came in after us and she did not show them anything either. I have been in the multifamily housing industry for over 20 years and that is no way to rent apartments or increase your occupancy by just sitting on your backside in the clubhouse. All I can say is the reviews didn't lie. The staff is rude, unfriendly, lazy and lacking any customer service skills! If this is how they treat a prospective resident, why would anyone live there! I have been living here for a little over two years and i must say it has been great. The apartments are beautiful and spacious. Since I have been here I have seen a lot of change for the better and it is really refreshing. I have lived in the apartments for a year. They promise things and never follow through. They do not maintain the apartments correctly and all the "new" appliances break. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything! The flooring is cheap linoleum. Do yourself a favor, and live elsewhere. read more

We lived here for 8 years before Weller took over. The office manager Susan told my husband they were gutting the units to the studs and replacing all the cabinets; everything would be new . . . LIES, LIES, LIES. Keep in mind we lived here a good long while before this company took over. The walls are the original walls, sanded and painted, the ceilings were scrapped and re-pop-corned, the cabinets - they only put new door and drawer fronts on the ones in the kitchen and they were hung so poorly the doors are falling off the frames. The so called "wood flooring" is glued down laminate that was not put down incorrectly, there are air bubbles everywhere because the glue wasn't allowed to cure. If you are going to remodel and raise the rent by $500 a month you should keep your word on the quality of the remodeling you said you were going to do, the fact is if you paint a turd it is still a turd. Don't move here it's not worth what they are charging. read more
