The buffet is a local favourite deal, but the order items offer fresh, hot quality at a reasonable price. Appetizers vary in expectations for the seasoned Chinese consumer, but entree preparation and portions are fairly standard. Ambience is casual family style, and customers can expect to be cheerfully greeted by the charming Ms. Lin upon entry. Less popular but available are their western cuisine menu including sandwiches and limited alcohol options. Chinese (jasmine) tea is extra.

However, you are greeted by a warm, friendly smile of the most adorible little asian lady. Most of the combo meals are in the $9-10.50 range, so you can go all out and get a huge plateful of food for very little money. I ordered the combo G (picture included), which came with ginger beef, sweet and sour chicken balls, fried rice and chicken chow mein. I also ordered an egg roll (since they are my favorite). They brought out the egg roll too, and it was deep fried to the max, which doesn't bother me. It was very crispy, but it was hot and pretty yummy by my standards. The ginger beef was unlike any I have had in the past, both in appearance and flavor. The flavor was extremely sweet. I know that ginger beef is always sweet, but take regular ginger beef and add an extra tablespoon of molasses. It actually tasted really good at first, but it was almost a little overwhelming before I could finish. Also the appearance was different. It wasn't as much in strips, as it was in very thin chunks. What I valued though, is that it was cooked. It was tender, but when I looked inside - there was no pink. Nothing gives me the willies more than rare or medium ginger beef. The chicken balls were yummy, but were quite dough-y. Full points for taste, but a bit more chickien would have been awesome. The chow mein and the fried rice were both really good, As you can see from the photo, the presentation was good as well. I left there full and satisfied, and the server was a ray of sunshine. She was the most smiley, friendly person I met in Provost. I would go back to this restaurant. It wasn't my best chinese food experience worldwide, but it was okay and the staff there make me want to support this establishment again. 15/30

Went here for Fathers Day. They had a buffet and you could order off the menu. The buffet was "ok",…read moremostly Chinese food items, had to wait constantly for items to be replaced as they ran out within minutes of putting it out. 3 of us had the buffet and 1 ordered off the menu. We asked for salt and pepper sqid. Seemed simple enough. After waiting 25 mins a young girl came out of the kitchen and asked if we minded waiting another 20 mins for the sqid!? No explanation at all...but we were very polite and we weren't in a hurry so we said sure ok. It finally came out and right away we knew something was wrong. (We eat s & p squid a lot in Calgary). It was really orange and soggy. But we tried a piece and within a second our mouths were on fire there was so much chili sauce on it!? I've never had sqid like this ever! It would have been more simple to just put a note on the menu so people know it's spicy.... It was not good. (At $18 it should be excellent). So we asked our waitress (Penny was lovely, and running her butt off alone) to let the cook know that we just couldn't eat it as it was ridiculously spicy. So she went to talk to him and he came out of the kitchen and started yelling at us in front of everyone! "That's how it's made in China, you don't come in and order and send back!" We were stunned and embarrassed. He went back to the kitchen and kept yelling at the staff! So unprofessional! Apparently "Tony" and his wife and daughter are new owners but he is completely out of touch with what "customer service is". We felt so bad for the waitress! Any we certainly won't be back, unfortunately for my parents who live in a small town near Castor, they won't have many options for restaurants now. It really ruined our Father's Day! Thanks Tony!!!!
