Run by humorous and keen gamers, this a tidy and efficient little shop often running good deals on consoles and software considering that they are pretty small in size. I got my 2nd gen PSP and a copy of Loco-Roco from here even though Im onto PSP go and a digital copy of Loco-Roco 1+2 (i'm a geek) despite the formats detractors. They even repaired my PS2 for free when it stopped working, which I later found out was a relatively easy process, but these guys had the decency to not try and charge me anyway.
The owners even use to hold multiplayer networked Halo matches in the rear room, although Im not sure if this is the case anymore, as it was just before the online services probably became mainstream, but it was great to see Console Yourself trying to innovate and add an extra flavour to their shop.
There was also a bargain bucket with older titles which could be picked up ridiculously cheap, much cheaper than GameStation and the horrid GAME.
A good shop for Pontefract and the surrounding towns. I hope it manages to continue to console people amidst the new world of online digital-only titles and play.com
DONT GO to the guy around the corner, who sells titles at extremely expensive prices. i once took a second hand copy of a game into there to exchange it for another and then a week later I found the same case and game going for BRAND NEW at an expensive price, whilst I was ripped off. read more
