So many beautiful offerings. It is a fun place to visit even if you are not in need of anything.

The staff here is ridiculously rude to shoppers - even people who are dropping several hundred dollars but really to anyone. I've stopped in a few times and found some interesting albeit overpriced items and the people who work here could not be less helpful - let alone welcoming. And mind you I'm not asking for help just to check out. Their bad attitudes actually surpass the ridiculous prices other people have mentioned. And the amazing thing is it doesn't matter who is working - they all have the same lousy attitude toward customers. It must be part of the employee training. The people at Goodwill are nicer and the merchandise is about equal and better priced. Skip this place and go elsewhere. read more

I stopped by the other day to kill some time in between appointments. I love browsing for bargains and was excited to find this store. I made my way to the back which is where the best bargains are usually stashed- but was not in luck. In perusing through the houseware section, I thought many of the items were overpriced even after the last date posted on the tags. I won't rush back and will opt for traditional thrifting instead. Go in and check it out for the laughs! First of all, it is a nicely organized store but my goodness, the prices will have you rolling with laughter! Outrageous pricing even on the ho hum, nothing special furniture. For an extra giggle, check out the prices of the china and glassware that doesn't even move off the shelves at Goodwill. Y'know, the stuff you can't give away? A real knee slapper! Kudos to them, it seems to work to just dust off this crap and put a big price tag on it. This is by far the worst consignment store that I have consigned with! They sold some artwork for me but I never received the money-- Whenever I would check on it they said I could leave it there because it was over $100. Well, it sold but then the owner said I left it there to long! I would go elsewhere! read more

FRAUD ALERT!!!!!! They take your item, put it on floor, sell it, and you do not get credit! My sister brought many pieces of original artwork here by various artists, told to bring it in for pricing and they would get back to her. When she didn't hear back or see it listed on her account, she went in to see several pieces on display for sale. She was not listed as the seller nor was she going to receive renumeration. The store gets lots of traffic because of the fair pricing and the good amount of the quality products they sell. There are many items that will sit there for a long time only because they are not very special but most everything they sell is clean and in good working order. You need to visit often because the good stuff goes quickly. I have found many treasures from lamps, art, sculptures, clocks and a small amount of furniture. most people don't leave ratings unless they are mad or feel they were mistreated. I feel the need to balance that out as a happy returning customer with my 5* review. read more

I brought some items in to place on consignment in January. They were able to sell some items but not all. They don't call you during the consignment to keep you abreast of the items sold. You have to call. They will send you a check only when they have sold $11.50 or more. I can understand that. Now it's been over 90 days I called to find out that they haven't sold the remaining 4 items. You will forfeit your items if they are not picked up after 3 months. I went to pick up my remaining unsold items expecting to have them waiting for me. I was wrong. The woman behind the counter said "You have to find them yourself! Good luck finding them!" I walked around the place aimlessly looking for about a half hour. No help from any staff. I finally found one item on the shelf. There were three more that I couldn't find. I gave up went up to the counter to close my account out. "So you couldn't find anything else. That's why I wished you good luck." The lady said. I understand it's Saturday and there were quite a few people in there. They must have helpers that could've spent a few minutes helping me find my items, but they couldn't be bothered. They probably hope you give up looking so they get to keep your items. Very poor customer service. I would go elsewhere. read more

I have usually visit the Amherst location, but this past weekend I decided to finally go see the Bedford location. As I walked in, I definitely felt like I was walking into a furniture store like Bernie & Phils. A lot more furniture is sold at this location with dining room and living room sets. Compared to the Amherst location, it seem pricier; I'm sticking to Amherst. My rationale is that the rent is higher in Bedford and/or don't do as well as the main street location of Amherst. Both locations do follow the markdown process (after so much time, they take 10%, 20% off, etc). read more

The prices there are really high compared to similar stores elsewhere. I bought a rocking chair from them, and they didn't give me the cushion that went with it. They promised to store it for me until I could come back to pick it up, but then they gave it away and refused to replace it. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer, this is set-up like a furniture store - very clean and well laid out. The merchandise seems to be high quality. I really like that they have Macy and Ethan Allen overstock here...as I would probably prefer new furniture over pre-owned. On a recent Saturday morning, it wasn't busy but the staff was non-existent and never spoke...which is a turn-off when supporting a local business...but if the deal is right it wouldn't stop me from buying. read more

As requested sent clear photos of an item and a concise description. Never heard back. Resent the information and pictures and called numerous times. Finally was advised no selling quotes would be given out without hauling the item to the store. Shared with the employee I was looking for a ballpark amount. Finally stopped in store, was given a one hundred dollar spread of the possible selling price with clear pictures. Really? I'll sell my item elsewhere. read more

We went in to look at some home furnishings. Staff just glared at us when we walked in, which was a bit awkward but we ventured on. We asked for a price on an item that had no tag. We had a very nice lady tell us she would look up the price and to just sit tight for a few minutes (which we were totally fine with). As we were waiting, we had a VERY rude woman come over to us and very abruptly said "we are closed, so take your purchases up front to check out ". We told her we were waiting on a price check and she just looked at us and continued walking away. The store has some nice furniture, a lttle overpriced in comparison with other consignment stores. Saying this, I have purchased a couple of items. The staff though is very inattentive and doesn't acknowledge you. When I brought a friend in that shops consignments constantly, I had warned her that they were not so friendly but she might find something there. It's a decent place if you're looking for something as close to new as you're going to get without being new. They have a fair mixture of everything, including chairs, couches, tons of big, wooden furniture like armoires and china cabinets, and dining room sets. I bought a Southwestern style couch here years ago, went back and found nothing. The prices are way above what they should be for any type of used furniture, some of them laughably so. If you come looking for one item with some money to shell out, you might be able to find something, but you'll certainly not be decorating a room with the prices they have, you might as well buy brand new if that's what you're looking for. read more

I am a consigner. Personally I think this location could do a better job with their business. I consign in the city of my second home in Northern California and the customer service and process is smooth as silk and conducting business with them vs this entity is like night and day; not to mention the plus in that I make some money which bottom line is not only the goal of myself but this business as well. After all without us, they would not be in business. If you want a consignment store that's passable, then do business here but if you want to do business with folks that treat you with respect and pleasantries, I'd try somewhere else. If you do go here for you're sale of items, try and see Martha -- the only reason I'm giving the business a 3 is because of her. She's A++++! read more

Love shopping here. Always plenty of new stock and though they can be a bit pricey the quality is worth it. I've art work on a main wall that catches everyone's eye when they walk in and are amazed where I found it. My best "find" was two beautiful Ethan Allen side chairs in mint condition. I've found the staff very helpful even on a busy weekend. I've been to the Amherst location and found the store rather sad looking and the items a bare step above Goodwill. read more

Love shopping here! They have many items I have fallen in love with and just had to have. They can be a bit pricey though on somethings. (Not sure what they base their pricing off of) However, if you are looking for a special piece of furniture or decor, you should absolutely check this place out. I personally prefer the Amherst location to the Bedford because I can go to several antique or consignment stores at once (since they're on the same road) but Bedford seems to be the larger location. read more

Vicki isn't a straight business person, she gamed on the price quote of a valuable but difficult to transport item I offered to consign with them. When I delivered it she called back to low-ball either to move it very quickly or another reason I can't say for certain. I take some of the blame listening to the fuzzy price talk, in retrospect I should have known better. She reviewed picture etc. but it was bait and switch. read more

I recently visited the Consignment Gallery in Bedford, NH. I had a rather unpleasant experience. I have made a number of purchases over the past two years and although I have found interesting items I always left with the feeling they thought they just did me a favor. The staff at best convey an "elitest" unhelpful attitude. Today, I realized I should have trusted my gut. By accident, I knocked over a $14 item that probably should not have been on a glass countertop if it was in fact so delicate. The saleswoman was clearly putout and immediately said, you are paying for it. Never asking are you okay? Did you cut yourself? I had a number of items at the counter which I intended to purchase. When I went to pay for the items the manager automatically added the broken item to my tab. I said look it was an accident. If it was so fragile it should have been in a case. He flatly retorted the consigner needs to get paid. I paid for the broken item which they pocketed $7. I will never return to this establishment. It is clear the employees lack baseline customer service and are extremely short sighted. Enter at your own peril. Three thumbs down! read more

I go there often, and have purchased from them. My big concern is the pricing of the furniture. If you look you can find similar furniture at a lower price, if you don't want to wait for the furniture they have to go down. Last time I was there, they had a pit couch for sale, and later that day saw the same couch for sale new at a furniture store for only $100 more than they were asking. read more

I think that they have some nice items but the customer service is horrendous. They don't acknowledge people that are at the register and chat among themselves as if you are invisible. PLUS, and this is a big PLUS.... twice I have heard employees make remarks about minority customers that offended me. I have often shopped at this store and I am always shocked at the terrible service I experience! If you don't like helping people, stay out of sales!! First, there is no public bathroom, really? The staff is unfriendly and not helpful. They will not take a credit card over the phone or hold an item for any length of time (once you get home and realize the item would be a perfect fit). In store, they will not take a credit card, only check or cash...recently adding a non-bank affiliated ATM machine that charges you a heft fee. So today, was really frustrating! I called beforehand to make sure item was still available, letting the lady on the phone know that I was on my way. Once, I got there they told me that they would not help me move the piece of furniture (insurance policy). I can understand a large piece or even a heavy piece, but mine was an awkward, maybe 50lb, bar-cart, which was up a flight of stairs. I live 45 minutes away from the store, if they would have told me that I would not get one iota of help, I would have brought help. So, I picked up said piece and inched my way down the stairs to my car. I kept on thinking if I fall down these stairs I'm going to sue the heck out of these people. I was just so spitting mad at the dismissive way these employees treated me, however, I do not blame them, I blame the owner. All these policies are to help the owner make the most money with the least amount of customer helpfulness!! Bad service starts at top! I work at an antique/gift shop and we are always helping our customers get things into their cars. This insurance thing is totally bogus! Finally, for the most part, the prices are high, however, one can still find wanted items for less than retail and I do love their glassware. Went with a few friends on my lunch break, and won't go back. Tried repeatedly to inquire about a chair price, but the employee would not even stand up to help us. Looked around the store anyway, and discovered it is uber overpriced. A lot of the merchandise is dirty and the store is very cluttered. Their ad states that even though they have seen a picture of an item that you would like to consign once you bring it in they could refuse which happened to us. Wasted many hours transporting the furniture. I suggest that the staff get together and get a better understanding of what they will take and not take before wasting a client's time. Ryan, owner of Consignment Gallery is an outstanding businessman and concerned citizen. Ryan deserves recognition for being not only a great businessman, which he has proven to me, but someone who broke his own rules to accommodate someone who has been unfortunate. That someone is me Bob Pedersen. I lost my professional job through no fault of my own. I had a longer delay before returning to work due to age discrimination at some places I had applied. I have finally found a great job. Ryan was concerned that I was in a position of hardship. I did not ask for help. Ryan saw I had quality furniture that would sell quickly for a fair price. He advanced me monies to keep me afloat as I was struggling. Again, I did not ask for this assistance. Ryan deserves my business for life and anybody that reads this article.
