I really wanted to like this place and was very happy walking out of the store as it had most of…read morewhat I wanted at a close location, however, it was the extremely bad customer service that set me off from ever walking into this store again. I walked into the store to get 30 ml of Lavendar oil. Being in a rush I asked the lady at the til for the bottle and trusted her completely that she was giving me the right product. All seemed well and I pleasantly thanked her. During the day when going into my purse I noticed that there were large oil stains on the box bottle. I passed a few comments of concern to the guy I am dating. He hates the smell of lavender and the leaking oil was over powering him. For the record, the bottle did not exchange hands up until that point. The lady took it off the shelf, took it to the til herself, rang it up, and bagged it. I put the shopping back into my purse. The plastic bag was cushioned with other items that I brought to the til last minute. In other words, I did not break the bottle as I was accused of when I returned a few hours later seeking an exchange. I spent a good 20 minutes arguing with the lady at the til whom was insistent that I broke or dropped the bottle. When I proved the lady wrong including showing her my secure purse, which is letter purse strapped across my neck, she still proceeded with her mission to accuse me of breaking the bottle. I showed her the insulation in my purse that would not allow breakage and unless I was hit by a skytrain. I also used my physics knowledge and explained to her had a hypothetically broke the bottle, that it would've shattered either in the middle in half due to impact and liquid volume of the bottle. It was a clear manufactures defeat on the top of the lid that was cracked. The lady at the til explained that she cannot exchange the bottle for me without manager approval otherwise the cost would be taking out her paycheque. Even after proving this and 2 customers hearing this conversation (I made a scene), the cashier proceeded to try to blame me (yet again) for the breakage and said that since her manager was not in store that day that I was SOL. At this point I got really angry (I'm already sore 'cause of my foot as is) and demanded that she get her manager on the phone. The breaking point was when she relayed false details of key points over the phone in which at this point I started screaming so the manager on the phone could her as well as the other customers in the shop. At this point I was expecting a mall cop remove me from the store, however, thankfully the manager granted my request to exchange the bottle. During the whole time, 2 customers walked in and walked out after they heard the poor customer service. I really wanted to be the first to give this place 4 stars, however, if a company cannot take care of the quality of the items on shelf, perhaps going on either Commercial drive or the west end would be better in the future.

Asked a girl about some probiotics/enzymes, she knew her basics. For Black Friday, 10% off if buy 1 item, 15% off for 2 items. Lucky for the Progressive rep giving out samples of their whey protein, that's what actually caught my eye lol. She sure knew her stuff, comparing to Vega. typical size store.

This is a great addition to the South Burnaby area. I like Smart N Save in Richmond as it carries…read moresnacks and stuff from Asia which are not that common. So it is fantastic to find one in this neighborhood. It's at Royal Oak and Rumble, across from the Buy Low store plaza and diagonally across from Chevron. The parking lot is pretty small and tight. There are plenty of street parking on Rumble side. For the grand opening, there is a 12% discount the entire store, excluding the hot food from the cafe. The cafe is just a small area selling hot snacks like Siu mai, fishballs, rice rolls and waffles. I saw many getting the combo (all 3 savory items) and the waffle smelled yummy. It reminded me of the street food in Asia. I found mini prawn rolls and prawn crackers from Indonesia. My favorite snack! There are many other stuff from Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and more. This is a dangerous place as I overheard a young girl telling her mom. Just too many things I want to get. In the end I just bought the mini prawn rolls, lays seaweed flavor chips that comes in a box, white pepper, and curry paste. I'll try the hot food from the cafe next time when I'm not too full.

Yay! Finally the store opened. This replaced the old 7 Eleven store that was here. They have so…read moremuch Asian snacks. They are having 12% discount on grand opening. I picked up a few snacks. This location seems to have less items compared to the Richmond location but hopefully that will change. Prices are reasonable. Note that this location also serves hot food. Unfortunately when I went, it was all sold out.
