HIs staff are really nice. I spoke to Dr. Meyer, explain to him the reason why I had RK and lasik. He explained everything to me. He was there to answer all my questions. He was in no rush , took his time with me. So he did my cataract surgery. It turned out great. His staff followed up with called to see if I needed anything. So if you need a procedure done. I had my eye screening done and meet Dr Washington, who is a very cold person to interact with almost to the point of being uncaring and more interested in getting you out of the office. Dr Washington gave me two choices an improve vision in the mid to long range using cheaters for reading or reading distance to mid range. I choose mid range to distance. For both eyes. The scheduler was out of the office. I called the following day to schedule the surgery. I was given a day and time then hung up. Oh, wait a minute that's one eye called back the second time to schedule the other eye. I ask for a rough estimate cost for both eyes. Totally clueless. Two days before surgery, the paper work finally arrived late in the afternoon. The paper work did not match up with what I discussed with the doctor. Instead of mid to long distance correction lens implant. It was for long distance only. I was advise that I would need to go back for another eye exam. I ask why did I not receive the paperwork a week or two earlier so problems and any misunderstanding can be worked out. Never got a reply. Sure go ahead and make an appointment with UofL Physicians You will be greatly disappointed. The Dr is uncaring, staff that couldn't care less and a surgery scheduler who can't schedule, provide a rough Estimates or provide the paperwork in a timely manner. You have been warned. Stay away!!! Should you decide to go with UofL Physicians I hope you have a good lawyer you will need it.

He is located on the Costco premises, which is very convenient. I'm a huge Costco fan; therefore, I have much ease and confidence in the optometrist they allow to work on their premises. And...as expected, Dr. Schwartz was wonderful, including his assistant. They were a bit busy when I arrived to only make an appointment (after shopping at Costco, of course). Without hesitation Dr. Schwartz jumped right in to assist his assistant with helping the customers. It seems most people were making appointments or needed a printout of some sort. I really like seeing teamwork in an effort to make sure customers are provided the best possible service with the least amount of time of having to wait. On my appointment day I was greeted with a smile and warm welcoming. Dr. Schwartz made me feel comfortable in that he was very personable, professional, thorough, and approachable in answering all my questions with much patience and thoroughness. It's also convenient that you can select your new frames (I think Bardstown Rd selection is better than Norton Healthcare Bv) in the optical department at a great, super price. And, if you don't have your eye prescription with you the optical department can look it up - awesome! After filling frames with new prescription and you're not completely satisfied (I.e., not seeing very well w/ new prescription), Costco will re-do the prescription (with second trip to optometrist to re-do exam) if all this transpires within 90 days of the 1st prescription being filled. Make an appointment with Dr. Schwartz. He is good!

I keep calling but the billing lady is always out of office or the office is closed/on lunch? My appointment in itself was an absolute tragedy. I've been going to the eye doctor for over 15 years so I have a pretty good idea of how an appointment should run. I first go to do the basic eye testing (little house on prairie machine...pics of the eyes etc.) the doctors assistant running my tests had no idea what she was doing. She didn't tell me to take my contacts out and when I said something she just handed me a contact case and some empty contact solution bottle. No sink, no form of sanitation, no mirror, NOTHING. When I saw actual optometrist everything was fine...but the check out process was a NIGHTMARE. No one in the office knew how to run insurance, they forgot my credit card in the back room twice, they did t know how to give me a receipt, and this entire process took over an hour! I paid for my contacts but have yet to receive anything and it's been over a MONTH. The lady that does the billing is never in the office because everytime I've tried to call to check on the status of my contacts she's never there!! And she never calls me back! I just want my contacts. I hope they see this and finally get back to me. Last time I called was today at 1:30 and the voicemail box said they were "on lunch"??? Ridiculous.

This review is nothing against the quality of medical care. However, this office is needs to be…read morecompletely retrained. Customer service, empathy or concern for actually following their own established policies seems to be selective. At the very minimum the staff is rude and biased. At the horrendously worst they are racially judgmental. Speaking very calm I was told that I was getting loud and angry. Immediately I was told that no longer discussion was warranted and that I needed to talk to the office manager due to my "heated and loud" demeanor. I deal in conflict management daily at my job and even informed the clerk that I was displeased at the situation, but that a disagreeing perspective does not equate to loud or even angry in tone. I have had mixed experiences with the staff during my 15 plus years of treatment, but have never been treated like this. There generally has been a feeling of greater than thou or elitism instead of an everyone is welcome attitude. I at first equated that to having government insurance. I now have exceptional corporate insurance and treatment was not any different. I would have left and went elsewhere a long time ago if not for the care I received from my doctor. Dr. Woodruff has always been incredibly kind and caring. However, I will not be stereotyped. I am the very last to bring classism, race or any other type of prejudiced accusations into a situation unjustly but today's experience was putrid. To the office's credit, I could have been seen and dealt with the attitudes if I myself had been to my appointment exactly on time or early. That is on me. I fully take that responsibility. Oh well. I may make a BBB complaint as well but there are plenty other eyecare facilities. My treatment will have to be postponed for another month or so and I am thankful it wasn't excessively, medically urgent. Except for possibly picking up my records; I will NOT be back her again. Sad.
