Who'd think a random invite to take pictures of Bald Eagles would, and a rainstorm interrupting would lead to a hidden gem. I by no means live nearby, but I'll be finding more reasons to take pictures of Eagles just to land here again. Let's start with location, because we all know location is key, and the location is a strip mall. I know, I can hear you, no one eats mall or strip mall pizza, but this place is the exception. Myself and my friend loved over the menu looking for any reason to run, the menu was simple, to the point, and the intersting names of items make you stay. Birthday Pizza is not what is sounds like. We agreed that the Stuffed Steak Pizza was a go. Me having the larger eyes than stomach ratio spotted the fried breaded wings; if you have that much confidence in something so many fail at, i'll happily test you. I'm glad I got the wings, they were well seasoned, full of flavor, juicy, good size, not overly breaded, and even better they made their own mild sauce fresh. How do I know it was fresh, well one I use to cook, two it came out warm in the container and you could see where the hot sauce and butter were still incorporating together, heaven in a plastic cup. Wings and sauce easily go into my Top 5. Back to the Stuffed Steak Pizza, prepare yourself because this is not for those with small stomachs. This is working food, this is a meal meant to be tackled by a force of hungry individuals during or after a hard days work. Even better it taste better than most cheese steaks I've had. The quality of beef, and the mixture of cheeses is taken to a higher level by the perfectly baked crust. This was not made by a pizza guy, this is the passionate work of an artist. The homemade marinara itself seems average, but there is truth in the saying, if it looks simple, it's complex. The subtle acidity of the tomatoes, the slight earthy notes from the mushrooms, and sweetness of the green bell pepper, only show their true colors when you add a small amount to the actual pizza. My mouth is watering writing this, is that too much information? Anyway, the acidity helps to refresh the palate to help cut the cheese, and boy is there cheese and meat to spare. I can't say the same for the wings and the calzones, I would steer clear of them and just go with a pizza or sandwich. We haven't had any issues with our orders or the service. Placed a order for a stuffed steak pizza, kids chicken tenders and cheese fries on the evening of 1/1/26. Got home with the order to find there was no cheese for the cheese fries, and the stuffed steak and cheese pizza barely had any cheese in it. Have ordered delivery three times now over the past month and a half. Food quality is very good, pricing fair. If I could give this establishment a negative rating I would! I ordered 3 pastas, which came with 3 side salads, and we also purchased a dessert. I recieved my food in an open brown paper bag. Other pizza places close and tape the bag shut with my receipt attached. Not Conowingo, they package hot and cold foods together in one bag. The top to the pasta on the bottom was pushed in from the weight of the other two on top and had started to leak. The tiramisu that I order was thrown inside and had fallen down beside the hot foods and melted. I order the spaghetti and meatballs for my kids. Its states on the website that the dish comes with 4 Meatballs, and we only received 3. It wouldn't have been a big deal except I order that dish specifically because I have 4 kids and they would have each have gotten a meatball. When I called to speak to someone about this I was connected to the General Manager Michelle. This woman has some of the worst customer service I think I've ever experienced in my life! I've worked in the hospitality business for over 20 years. I would have never treated customers the way she does! Michelle proceeded to tell me that she has never known of any establishment that separates it's cold food from it's hot, and if they did that than I would only receive half of my food because delivering 2 bags of food to one house was beyond the know how of their drivers. When I tried to tell her that I normally get delivery from other establishments and they always bring the hot food in a pizza bag, and the cold food in a separate bag on top she laughed. She then informed me that they had changed the size of their meatballs to a larger size because, and I quote, "making 1 inch Meatballs was too difficult". Which was not surprising seeing how my food arrived. Apparently laziness is a requirement in her management style. I received a half assed apology because the website had not been updated. She told me that she would be happy to replace the leaking pasta but at that point I was completely done with this woman and this establishment!! I didn't even want to call back to tell her about the excessively greasy pasta or burnt bread. (See pictures) The food was absolutely horrific! Bland, tasteless pasta. My pasta was supposed to be in a rose' sauce, and instead it was drenched in grease. Its was unedible, and we ended up calling Mr. Y's and having pizza delivered. The managment in this place needs to change! I've heard about this woman from neighbor's that have had run-ins with her and its cost Conowingo their business. She had mentioned SEVERAL times that she has been in the pizza business for 15 years, maybe it's time to change vocation!! I recommend saving yourself the headache! The first time we went and sat down in the place was ok. Ok food, kid waitstaff, place was kinda empty. The second time we went in, it took a nosedive. The kids don't care and would much rather laugh and talk amongst themselves than actually wait on customers. My husband and my son didn't get their food at all so they had to give us our money back. The food here is great! I highly recommend the cheese burgers! They taste just like a grilled burger! The Rustic Chicken Cordon Bleu is another favorite! The staff is amazing and very friendly.
