Excellent Gas Prices in Butte, MT…read more SITREP We found this Conoco on our way from dinner, and decided to fill the U-Haul Truck up in preparation for the final leg of our trip to Coeur d'Alene tomorrow. THE SETUP Looking at price, $3.31 a gallon is nothing to sneeze at, and I think we only saw one other gas station at $3.29 a gallon on this trip earlier yesterday. So of course we pulled the trigger on getting gas at this price. AMENITIES And though it usually doesn't factor in, big props to Conoco for having a solid squeegee system to clean our windshield with. EVERY leg of our trip from Arizona through Utah, through Montana and Idaho, has been fraught with BIG BUGS going *SPLAT* on the windshield. Continued To Be Amazed By Cheap Montana Gas Prices…read more SITREP This Chevron sits near a cooperative plaza of markets & gas stations and is a great place to get my junk food supplies. GAS PRICES At MORE than a dollar cheaper per gallon than what we left in Glendale, CA, I continue to be amazed at the cost of filling up this U-Haul Truck at a full 30% LESS per gallon ($4.49 in Glendale versus $3.3 in Butte). We are really figuratively scratching our heads on this one (though we DO know it has a lot to do with the special TAXES you will find in Califronia as well as the additional additives to the gas). THE LOWDOWN After being robbed at the California pumps, thank you Montana for your part in helping us keep the travel costs down.
