The Alliance Refinery processes about 247,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It is a single train sweet crude refinery situated on Louisiana Highway 23, south of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Alliance Refinery has been owned by several different oil companies. Gulf, Chevron, SOHIO, BP, BPAmoco, Tosco, ConocoPhillips, and Phillips 66. The primary products are gasoline and jet fuel and the primary by products are petroleum coke and sulfur. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

Knowing we needed to stop and fuel up before starting on this journey since the route is a little remote and we weren't sure if there were going to be a lot of choices for gas as we traveled east. There are a few stations along this stretch of road but this seemed to be one of the better choices judging by appearance only. It turned out to be a good choice the pumps were in great condition and the restrooms were pretty clean, heading east the station is on the left side of the road I recommend avoiding the station on the right just before the turn for this one it looks a little shady but that just my observation after pulling in and exiting without making a purchase.

The counter staff, the female African American "manager" in particular, is VERY RUDE, and an obvious bigot. Quite simply, she is just NASTY to everyone, but her extreme level of disdain is reserved for white customers. Shop elsewhere if you can. There is a reason this Station/Wendy's/Store, with literally no competitors, is likely not very profitable for it's owners. After all, you make a little margin on gasoline sales. Most profit comes from food and even more from retail. With this "manager" no one really wants to shop here. Empty at "lunchtime", the two trucks were initially gas customers. On a positive note the cleaning/pump station maintenance man is as pleasant/friendly as the manager is rude.

This is a cool and eccentric convenience store located in the French Quarter that sells an…read moreassortment of random items that you would find exclusively in New Orleans - including Madi Gras masks - as well as, true to their name, liquor, cigarettes and beer, but I was just interested in one thing: the pralines that I kept on seeing signs around about. They carry a specific Aunt Sally's brand and have boxes as well as some individual packets. Also this place is located across the street from Hot Benny's. Service is great from the one employee at the cashier (not sure if she is the proprietor however). Recommended!
