We love doctor Shaw she is awesome and always takes the time to hear all of your concerns! We highly recommend her for your little ones!

She's so wonderful with the children, she's very thorough and never rushed. She's always willing to listen to our concerns and answer as many questions as we have. We love Dr. Goldenstein. Before I requested a change in doctors, however, we saw Dr. Boysen and I have to say he's the worst doctor I've ever seen in my life. Not only is he rude and preoccupied, he doesn't seem very confident in his decisions, either. The incident that made me request a change is when I took my 3 year old son in for a sensitive reason. I told Dr. Boyson I just wanted him to look at and so he did. But then, without telling my son or I anything, he did a procedure on my son that was extremely painful for him. My son started crying and Dr. Boysen acted annoyed with my son's reaction and left the room. I was completely disturbed by Dr. Boysen's actions and said I would never see him again. What made matters worse is that my son was completely confused by what had happened and didn't understand why the Dr. had "hurt his privates" and remembers the experience to this day (he's now 7.) I have told many people about this incident and the ones that have had experiences with Dr. Boysen have all shared my opinion of him. He's not a good doctor and I recommend you see anyone BUT him. I've seen all the other doctor's at Ped. Associates at one time or another, and they've all been great.

Tis the season for flu shots and vaccines. As a mom of two I dread this time of year. Both, because…read moreit is like herding cats (with our schedule) to get them both in at a time we don't have activities. But also, my seven year old son is the size of a ten year old and he throws a tantrum like an enraged three year old when it comes to shots. Poor buddy just can't calm down and is irrationally scared when those pointy objects come into the room. It's not a fun experience for anyone involved. I was able to see all the availability online and scheduled an appointment conveniently. I couldn't get in the week of but only about two weeks out wasn't too terrible of a wait. The day came around and MyChart continually reminded me of our appointments. (I'm always down for a reminder or six.) We popped in about five minutes early to an insanely cheerful and professional receptionist who checked us out. We waited a short time-- with the kids zoning out to some kids programming on a tv in the waiting room-- then were brought back to the exam room. The nurse was diligent and pleasant. My nine year old chose to get two shots in the same arm and our nurse did it as quick/painlessly as possible. (In non-pediatric facilities, we've had administrators of the shot have to stick my kids two or three times, as they don't anticipate a bit of fidgeting. Not the case here.) Alas, it was my seven year old's turn (you know, the one that's pushing 90 pounds and hates shots but loves to flail his arms and butt his head as he screams)... GOODNESS. What a scene. So many tears and squeals. Our nurse stayed patient throughout and even though I bribed him with basically everything except the kitchen sink-- he was not having it. Our nurse then left the room and got two more nurses to assist. EVERYONE was so kind. Kuddos to them. It took all four of us to restrain him. His shots were had in both legs at the same time-- but no one was injured. I'll consider this year a win. I'll 100% schedule appointments in the future at this location. It is very convenient (just off Penn and not far from 965), newer and has ample parking. It also offers General Pediatrics and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) care for kiddos as well as Breastfeeding Care, Family Medicine and Fhlebotomy Services for adults. I avoid the hospital whenever possible -- due to parking and navigating the huge building-- but the IRL location is busier and busier it seems. This location has far less of a demand as of now, and is a dream to navigate. Tis the season for shots-- don't overlook this location.
