This was our first time here and we had a great time. New Year's Day, of course it was busy, but everything went smoothly. Everything was clean and everyone was very friendly and helpful! Someone definitely had fun creating this course, fun little details like leaves and fossil imprints in the cement, and the Stanley Livingston theme. Every couple of holes there was a wheel of fun, everyone spins, if you want, and it adds a little thing for every player to do for that hole. Just another way to add some entertainment. Towards the end you get up to the tree top and get a nice view of everything. I mean, it's just I-drive and some parking lots, but it's a nice change of scenery. There's also a small arcade and some basketball hoops, but we didn't use them. The gift shop is nice and great for visitors. They have live alligators, and you can feed them and get a picture holding them if you want. Being a Floridian, I've done that a few times, so I passed. Other than that, I think I covered it all. If you're looking for some mini golf and maybe some vacation stuff, this is a great place. read more

The staff is friendly and fun and really seem to enjoy what they do. We got to feed juvenile alligators and my son was able to hold one, while we learned interesting facts about them. Great spot! My family and I had a blast this past weekend at Congo River Golf. The course itself is fun with a few challenges mixed in! We came for the first time during a private event and were very pleasantly surprised by how well maintained the mini golf course was and how friendly and caring the staff were. We heard that all staff are trained in handling the baby alligators, and being able to see, touch, and even hold one was a unique experience. While playing the course, we noticed the turf looked new and not worn. The decor was fairly elaborately themed, with a waterfall and several multi-level holes. It even had elevation, with steps that took you to a vantage point where you could look over the property and street from above. And every hole had convenient places to place your cups or scoring cards while playing. It was very clean and well maintained. We had the best time visiting here after getting rain and thunderstorms out of Aquatica for the day. The employees were friendly, and we had a great time playing mini golf, doing the scavenger hunt, playing the spin wheels along the course, and then, of course, holding a baby gator. My son was so excited to come here, and I would be back. He got a little award at the end for 'winning' and it was enjoyable for all of us. Congo River Golf was an amazing surprise for my daughter and me during my visit. We've played mini golf at almost all the locations around Orlando, but we had never tried Congo River. While having breakfast, I looked up mini golf options nearby and found Congo River. She was excited about the alligators and the pictures of some of the holes I found on Yelp. We decided to go there, and it turned out to be a fun course. She enjoyed playing and loved looking at everything around her, especially the chance to hold and feed an alligator. The staff was friendly and made her birthday that much more special, in a fun and cool atmosphere. With easy parking and a fun vibe, it was a great experience. Holding an alligator was a first for me; my daughter had done it on one of her field trips, but it was a blast and a first for me. The place was very well maintained, clean, and offered fair prices. I highly recommend it. Bring sun screen and water... but if you don't, they have it there as well as an arcade, ice cream, other treats and more. read more

We were looking for something low impact to do today with the grandparents, and decided to head down to play a round of mini golf. Of course the boys had to talk them into feeding the alligators too! It was a beautiful day, but a hot one. Everything started out smooth. We fed the gators and had moved onto a round of golf. But hole 13 was where our troubles started. My oldest started to show signs of heat exhaustion. Being from FL, I knew we had to get him seated and cooled off, so I took off running towards the front...which isn't easy from hole 13. As I'm climbing over the fence, a nice female worker went to stop me but quickly realized it was urgent. So she ushered me into the back and broke up a chunk of ice they have for the employees and wrapped it in a paper towel. Then she had the gentleman at the front get me a bottle of water so I could try and cool off my kid. A 3rd employee headed up to turn on the mister at that fan and make sure he was alright. EAs we made our way back down to the store, they sent him into the arcade to cool off some more. I truly hope the management team sees this. Your employees quick action helped save our fun day. A sincere thank you from this momma! Moral of the story - even when you take drinks, go slow. But just know if there is an emergency, this group will be extremely helpful! read more

Went on a Tuesday evening. The courses are challenging enough and fun. It has stairs and you get a nice view of the sky colors during sunset. It was $15.99 per person which is a decent price. The course is well kept, the staff is friendly. It is right next to a busy street but you almost forget when playing. I had the best time here tonight with my parents. They're in their 60s and still able to get around and walk up stairs etc, so they had a great time too. This place is not wheelchair friendly FYI The attendant was nice enough to ask where we were from. I'm sure they get a lot of tourists. We told him Orlando! He asked for our IDs and gave us a resident discount! That was so unexpected. We saved $2 per person. So the usual rate is $13.99 for just golf, but $11.99 for residents. Nice! We grabbed our putters and chose our balls. The putters were in great shape and there were plenty of putters in variable lengths. They had 6-8 different color balls. I went with light green, dad with light blue and mom with yellow. We were given a scorecard and informed about the scavenger hunt. Heads up- they have these spinners scattered throughout the course. You gotta use them! It made mom use her foot to hit the ball and I had to use the club upside down and dad had got to move his ball a club's length, among other results. The spinners are not on every hole but they make the game even more fun! Spin before you putt and do whatever it lands on. We made it through 18 holes in just over an hour. Par is 44. Dad and I tied at 55, despite my hole in one. Mom got 63. The course has a lot of stairs and hills so wear appropriate shoes. The waterfalls and gators were awesome. We took a lot of pictures. I imagine kids would love this place. They have some package deals where you can feed a gator or hold one, play basketball games on their crazy basketball hoop course, etc. There is a small arcade, gift shop, pay lockers, and bathrooms. They have vending machines on the course but it's very overpriced. A bottle of Dasani was $3. Parking was free. It wasn't that busy. I was surprised. Maybe because there is another good course nearby? Either way, we had a blast and we appreciate the staff providing us a resident discount. Thank you Congo River! read more

My wife wanted to take the kids to go miniature golfing and I found Congo River Golf & Exploration right near our hotel. The reviews here were good so I thought this would be a great place to try out this past Saturday. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. We thought the kids would enjoy feeding the gators, so we purchased a pack of freeze dried chicken and it comes with 2 vitamins for the gators and they sell it for like $5 bucks. Feeding the alligators was not easy and you only get about 5-6 small cubes of dried chicken, but the kids enjoyed it. We all played miniature golf and had a great time. The course was very clean and well maintained and was not too easy. I was able to get two hole in ones and my 7 year old son did as well and boy was he so happy. Throughout playing the 18 holes player's adventure out by look for certain items on the course (hat, mask, spear, snake and shield) and you mark what hole you saw those items on and when you are finished with your game, the card is turned on. If you locate all the items on the course with the correct hole number, you get a card that gets you either a few dollars off or 50% discount towards your next round of golf. Overall, we had a great time here. The prices seem competitive with what is nearby and all the staff here was great, which goes a long way. As we were leaving one of the ladies gave each of my kids a ribbon for completing the course and that made their day. I would definitely recommend coming here for miniature golf. Can't go wrong with the Congo River "chain" mini-golf courses. Went this time with the wife and family and did the deluxe package that includes lots of extras like gator feeding/holding, banking basketball, arcade tokens, and more. The course itself is great, as all of the Congo River courses are. Mostly well-maintained, though certain areas need touching up, like fixing the "stream" hole that is supposed to almost guarantee a hole-in-one. For some reason all shots hit into the stream don't get caught by the grate like they're supposed to. The back half of the course has some really challenging holes and verticality. The extras are also a good deal if you get them all in the package. Feeding the baby alligators is fun, the banking basketball game is enjoyable, and sluicing for "gems" is some more hands-on charm. The people working were also very accommodating and didn't rush my wife at all when it came time to hold the baby alligator. Come at night for less crowds and no sun. There's only shade in the first few holes of the course, so if you try going through it on a hot summer Orlando day, you're asking for trouble. read more

I went mini golfing here as a date (on a Wednesday evening). It was a great time. The course is very fun and interactive, lot of different levels and obstacles. There's an additional scavenger hunt where you have to find 5 or 6 items throughout the course (it's harder than you think! We missed 2). When I went with my date we were the only ones there for a while, then we saw 3 other parties come in. The mini golf was ok. Several of the holes didn't have a border and it was very easy to lose your ball. HOWEVER, about the baby alligators, I don't know, just seemed a bit sad. There was really not enough space for the number of gators that were there. As soon as you walked past them, they all grouped together on top of each other like they were starving. We certainly didn't want to hold one, but we watched as they brought one out for a photo and it didn't move and appeared as if the mouth stays taped up for long periods of time. Hope there is some type of animal control that occasionally checks this place out that they are following all rules to keep these beautiful animals healthy! read more
