I highly recommend Pacific for their Basic (for license) motorcycle safety course. I'm so glad I…read morechose to go with them particularly for their online ground training. It was so convenient to complete the training at home at my pace. Also, I had to reschedule my riding class on fairly short notice because of my mistake and they were very gracious and made the change easily, no charge. I've owned/ridden a motorcycle for years in other states, so I have experience, but I still found the practice range to be interesting and I learned some great techniques to make me a better rider. Evie was an outstanding instructor - balancing the training for the riders who had never been on a bike with a few of us that had experience. She tailored the class to each individual when and where she could and everybody stayed engaged in the course and had lots of fun. Also, for the experienced riders considering Pacific, they had dual sports, cruisers, and even a grom available to ride. I rode the Suzuki dual sport on the first day, and switched to a Honda Rebel on the second and had a great time checking out the bikes. Upfront, it seemed like a lot of money to commit just to meet some California regs, but I'm glad I did it!

I called the local fire department and was referred over to Red Cross as the have a smoke detector program which offers free smoke detectors as well as installation. My being 70 years young this filled my heart with gratitude to know my daughter will be safe in her home. as a side note: the day after I called to ask about these a house down the street burned. No smoke detectors present. please be safe and make sure you have these in your home and if not call the wonderful people of the Yolo, Woodland Red Cross. they are an outstanding service.

Max has a ton of resources available besides your own textbook and homework. For example I struggled with topics in calculus 2 that were foundational steps from pre-cal and calc 1 - thankfully Max had pdf textbooks and resources for pre cal and calc 1 that he could easily share with me so I didn't have to waste time searching on google or YouTube for help. When I first met Max I was feeling very overwhelmed, embarrassed, and severely lacked confidence in math. After having a few sessions with him I noticed how supportive he was and how much he genuinely cared about me understanding the material even if it took hours and multiple tries for me to understand it. He never made me feel judged or less than and that was one of the best feelings. The style of tutoring that I did with max was Monday Wednesday Fridays for 1 hour each on zoom. I would listen to my calc 2 lectures & work on the homework problems and when I came a across a topic/problem that I struggled with I would clearly identify what I was confused about. Then after I identified the issue I would email max a detailed explanation of why I was struggling with this specific problem and I would attach a screenshot of my attempted work on the problem. This style of tutoring worked tremendously well for me! Because I would clearly tell max what exact problems/topics I wanted to go over ahead of time we were able to maximize each tutoring sessions together! Max is not the type of tutor who is going to do your homework for you - so if that is what you are looking for then I'm sorry. But if you are a hard worker, genuinely try each problem, take good notes, and care to learn then Max is the tutor for you :) I failed calc 2 with a D in fall 2020 semester. I re-took it in spring 2021 semester with having Max as my tutor and I finished with a 95% in the class. My daughter has learned Spanish, made deep, secure connections with her classmates and teachers and practices the empathy she sees modeled at school. The approach takes the best of Reggio, Socratic Method and High Scope and incorporates tons of active, outdoor play, art everyday, imaginary play, and themed units that really appeal to the kids' interests. Drop off is calm and welcoming (so important to us after the chaotic drop off at a previous school) and the school has a homey, sweet vibe. My daughter looks forward to coming to school every day and is becoming a good little citizen thanks to her time at Discovery. I feel 100% confident that she's on track for Kinder.

My kids are grown now. Discovery was wonderful. I worked very long hours, but they worked with me,…read morenot against me. Every day at pick up, both kids proudly showed me their art, books they read, songs they sang, and other interesting projects. If they saw a bug inside , a teacher would gently move it outside and explain how to respect nature. They loved the chickens. They loved singing songs, reading in the loft and swinging. They loved circle time. Why am I writing now? Because I finally slowed down and am going through boxes of my kids artwork. It's a sentimental project. But I remember their teachers fondly. They watched over two precious children while their parents worked to provide a middle class home, groceries, utilities, etc. in a safe little town. Both kids are doing just fine. I don't know how people can be so generous with rating this place! This place smells rancid every…read moretime I open those doors. There are three levels to Olson. The lower level, main level and upper level. Imagine walking into a place that smells rancid already and imagine a smell even worse than that - rancid SQUARED. They have men's and women's bathroom located at every floor. They are so smelly and dirty, sometimes I need to hold my breath before going in the bathroom! They are very old and disgusting, try using a restroom elsewhere before entering this building. You will thank me after. On the main floor and third floor, there are just regular basic classrooms. Nothing special. :0 In the owner level, they have several class rooms and mainly computer labs for classes that need it. The computer lab with open access is only for stand up ~ unlike other labs, there are no sit down computers in this lab. This place would be perfect for those printing out papers for class. (+1 star) Also, they have a small study space available here (about 5 tables max) for those who can tolerate studying in such a loud and smelly environment. Also, they do not have microwaves available here anymore like mentioned previously. They probably took them out cause people couldn't eat their food anymore cause that place is so smelly, hehe.. However, they do have a vending machine located here with scantrons, blue books and misc items needed for a midterm or final (+1 star). Also located here is a vending machine with snacks such as chips, cookies and crackers~ it could be useful for those trying to grab a quick snack before class. Unfortunately, most of the time......it's empty cause a lot of students like grabbing snacks here:3 I would avoid going here if I didn't have any classes, but otherwise I would only go here for class purposes and leave right after. I don't know how people can handle this rancid smell~ avoid this place at all costs!! ;p

Tafoya Elementary School is located in a great residential neighborhood. It is adjacent to a…read morepublic park/baseball diamond field. My introduction to the school was two years ago and I have been very impressed with the cleanliness of the school, the faculty and staff. I am a grandparent of a student here and have volunteered for school trips and other activities that appear to really engage the students, like the spelling bee recently held, of which, my grandson was part of. Apparently, the students were selected by their classroom teacher and peers which was is both an honor and difficult to be in front of an audience of 4-5 grade peers (who can be brutal at that age). However, the students were respectful and cheered for both correct and incorrect spelling bee'ers, and it was fun to watch their reactions especially at the final champion. Another thing I was impressed with was they have a program where students are loaned a laptap for reading at home purposes that includes a wi-fi router for the laptop. They do not have a uniform policy, or bus transportation for students. This is a school that I feel my grandson is cared for and taught well which gives me peace of mind knowing he is receiving a good public education.
