They advertised a LeMat revolver, which was supposed to be all original and matching and in great working order. I was told that if I paid right away over the phone by credit card they'd have it out the same day. It took a full week to get a tracking number, and then another 4 days for them to actually drop it off with UPS. I was told it would be shipped 2nd Day Air, it was sent 3 Day Select. My card was overcharged by $100 and there was supposed to be a check for that amount in the box (which there wasn't). When the gun eventually arrived, it had several major replacement reproduction parts (that I specifically asked about prior to making the purchase and was assured by Jeff that it was completely original and all parts were matching) and is horribly out of time. Not at all the condition it was described by the owner Jeff as being in. Upon receipt of the item, I immediately called & left voicemails, sent 2 emails, and also sent several texts in which I asked that they send me a prepaid return label....after a week of no response, I got a text saying "no returns". This is an $11,000 purchase mind you, that they completely misrepresented from every single aspect of the transaction. Glad they had me put it on a credit card, so that I have some recourse.

Hopefully this will prompt other V.S. residents to patronize this shop and support this small business. Will likely add the fifth star after they have more in stock.

The previous week I tried the premium Rossi skis somewhere else, but these Atomics were hot. After I returned them, he offered to sell me a new pair that were on sale. I asked a simple question about what he recommended for fishing in the lake, and instead of helping me, he mumbled "f***ing idiot" under his breath. He didn't yell it at me, but I heard exactly what he said, and I don't appreciate being spoken about that way over a simple question. He was pointing toward the fishing bait in front of me, but with an entire wall full of different products, I couldn't tell which ones he was referring to. It's disappointing to be treated this way, especially when I've been coming here for years. Experiences like this also make me question whether there is a broader pattern of disrespectful or potentially discriminatory treatment at places around Strawberry and some of the smaller local businesses. I can't say for certain what motivated his behavior, but it left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I've spent thousands of dollars supporting businesses throughout this community over the years, and I've always enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately, experiences like this make me reconsider where I choose to spend my time and money. Customers deserve basic courtesy and respect, even when they're simply asking for a recommendation. This was not cool, and I definitely won't be coming back to this lake. I'll be taking my business and support elsewhere.
