If you are looking for a "conveyer belt" experience with no after care, look no further! They are ok up until you hand over the money for the dress! If you want to hear a real, honest detailed review, read on.
I found my dress at Confetti Bridal Centre in sept 2017, 1 year before my wedding in Sept 2018. I was originally torn between a £1400 dress and a £4000 dress. My mother and I felt the owner was all over us while I was considering the more expensive dress but when I decided to go with the other one she lost interest and just left me with the other girls. Deposit paid and was told Dress would come in 6-9 months time and final payment would be required.
Received a call Christmas time to say my dress was in and I had 7 days to come in check and pay the balance. I explained I wasn't expecting this outgoing until March earliest but was basically told tough and if I didn't go in the next 7 days, the dress would be sent back to the manufacturers - 3 months early, terrible timing and short notice!
I went to see and try my dress to ensure all ok and was told they would be in touch in the new year to arrange the little changes I wanted to the make to the dress (adding bits here and taking bits there).
In February we returned to look at bridesmaid dresses. We were just left to it with no help what so ever. It was our first stop so didn't really know what we were doing or looking for and would have expected some help and guidance, but bridesmaid dresses aren't where the money is I guess!
By May (4 months before wedding) I had not received any communication from them so thought I would give them a call to find out when I could come in to start looking at accessories and when I would be booked in for the changes. I was told they were literally just going through the wardrobe and would be in touch in the next couple of days with a date.
I left 2 voicemails which were not returned and over a week passed and I still hadn't heard so I called again. I was eventually booked in and went to look at accessories. I was told the changes needed to be made to my dress first as this might affect what accessories I could have. I returned again to see the seamstress who agreed the changes and I was advised they would order in the accessories and make the change to my dress which would likely take 2-3 weeks.
4 weeks later and still not heard so I gave them another call. I was told the changes had NOT been made to my dress and my accessories were likely to be another 2-3 weeks at least. With just over 2 months to go, another few weeks was going to be passed my Hair trial and way too close to the wedding not having any idea on accessories (belt, tiara, veil, hoop, shoes etc). I was told by the owner that my wedding was MILES AWAY and they had loads of other brides dresses way ahead of me who were priority, some getting married that weekend whose dress had not yet been completed. I was encouraged to go and look for all my accessories myself and was just getting the overall impression they didn't have time for accessories and weren't interested in helping me. I told them I relied on their expertise as they had told me all these changes to my dress were possible in the first place! I was repeatedly interrupted and not allowed to finish what I was saying, it was like I was asking them to finish my dress when I was simply asking for the small change so I could chose my accessories as they had previously suggested!
I started to have a panic attack and told her I had found the whole conversation very upsetting and that I needed to end the call, I thanked her and went on to say that I would wait for their call when the accessories came in but before I had chance to finish she hung up on me!
Needless to say I have pulled my dress out of that shop and into another much nicer studio with a lovely lady who listens, cares and follows through with what she says. In 2 weeks time I am booked in to see the changes to my dress and I will have a selection of accessories to choose from. My new lady told me this is not the first time she has had brides come to her from Confetti.
Upon speaking to others they have all experienced the same with after care when deciding the accessories and trying to get alterations.
It's a shame since my sister and auntie got their dress here years back and the shop has changed hands, the shop has really gone down hill and it's all about dress sales.
I will never recommend Confetti Bridal Centre and suggest avoid avoid avoid. Give your money to a smaller independent place who actually cares. read more
