If you are considering becoming an Independent Living resident at Touchmark Meadow Lake Village,…read morethere is much important information that you should know in advance which will not necessarily be disclosed by the sales staff. Several of those matters are these: 1. While every-two-weeks-housecleaning is included in the very high monthly fee for your living unit, be aware that this is just very light cleaning--definitely not that to which you are probably accustomed. Any additional work that you require will cost extra (i.e. cleaning of patios/balconies and/or patio/balcony furniture, cleaning fridge shelves, waxing hardwood floors, cleaning oven, dusting anything that requires moving of your personal items, vacuuming upholstered furniture). 2. Housekeeping service does not include changing sheets on beds, as is normally included in other senior living communities. That will cost you an extra charge per bed. 3. Monthly fees increase by at least 4-5% every year. 4. While they may tell you that two meals a day are included in your monthly fee, one of those meals is breakfast, whether or not you want it; the other meal is either lunch or dinner, and it is not an option to be served lunch in place of breakfast, for example. 5. Lunch or dinner is the second daily meal that is included in your monthly fee, but unused meals are deleted from your account at the end of the dining service's calendar month, and therefore do not roll over for you to use in an ensuing month for guests, for example. 6. Once in a while, a meal served may be extraordinary, but for the most part, meals are simply average. 7. Make a list of every single question that occurs to you during the consideration process, and make certain that these questions are completely answered to your satisfaction, in print. 8. If you plan to use the pool, be sure to check out the very unusual configuration of the pool before committing to moving in as a resident. It does not meet everyone's needs. 9. Do not be in a hurry to sign your contract. Read it thoroughly before you do. Ask lots of questions. The property is lovely. Landscaping, lake, and golf course add to the scenic outdoor appeal. Life Enrichment activities and events are plentiful and of superior quality. Gym equipment in the Fitness Center is high-end and up to date. Community atmosphere is warm and friendly. Staff is highly professional and accommodating (within what they are permitted to do by corporate headquarters). If you check other senior living communities in the area, you will not find one that comes close to the ambiance that Meadow Lake Village offers. But it is very expensive to live here, and never forget that fees go up every single year.

My parents were looking to move into an independent living community to lessen the burden of…read morecooking, cleaning, and home maintenance, as well as increasing their social involvement. We toured eight different facilities in Boise and the Garden Plaza of Valley View was by far their favorite. We actually didn't have an appointment and just stopped in to see if we might be able to talk to someone - Pam welcomed us with open arms and gave us a very thorough tour. They joined the waiting list, and moved in a few months later when a space opened up. At this point it has only been a few weeks since their move, but they are extremely happy and we've noticed a difference in their health already, especially with Mom. Her speech and walking have both improved, and we credit the Garden Plaza with that. She has 3 regular meals a day, social interaction, walks more, and she doesn't have the pressures that came with owning and caring for a full-sized home. My folks tell us every day how nice everyone is, from the staff to the residents. They wish they had made the move years ago and say everyone they talk to says the same thing. (Better late than never!) I liken it to living on a land-based cruise ship - all their meals and utilities are included, their unit is cleaned weekly (including towels and linens), there are tons of activities, there's transportation to get them around town, and everything is bundled under one price so they don't have to keep track of a ton of bills (or even this one - they're set up on auto-pay)! It's so nice that my teenage daughter wanted to move there after getting a tour. To say it's been life-changing is an understatement. My parents are thrilled, my siblings and I are thrilled, and a huge load has been lifted from all of us. Since I don't live in Boise, it's an enormous comfort to know they're happy and that people are checking in on them daily. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Pam Dillman and all the wonderful staff and residents at the Garden Plaza of Valley View! (Oh, and there's an AMAZING bakery in the lobby - try the blueberry lemon cake.)

Every time I visit, they are doing something Special for their residents. They even built a Bakery so that the residents can visit and have a sweet treat. If you are considering special care for a loved one, take a tour with Melanie. She is personable and understands how important this transition is for everyone in the family. Jessica robbed some family members of their dignity and treated them with an absence of compassion. When she was informed that a visiting NP was being abusive to visiting family members of a patient, that family member was instantly dismissed and all concerns invalidated. If you go there, just remember that some of the nurses will openly laugh at the cruel jokes they hear abusive family members say to their victims. Nothing like being insulted with targeted jokes and having the nurse laugh them, then continually bring it up when they next visit the room. After 3 days of it I snapped and was forced to leave to protect myself.

Fellow Seniors BEWARE!…read more I needed a new caregiving team. I am blind and disabled. This person named Lindsay came to my home. Talked to me in person and on the phone. Lindsay assured me that I would have better help. It took affect as of July 1 2026. She came to my home , filled out paperwork. I never had any help. Lindsay making excuses or didn't call back at all! she'd been to my house and told me all kinds of lies! Promising things she never did! I was eligible as of July 1, 2026. It is now July 27,2026. For this whole month I had only one person came to work. It was only 4 hours and it was just about less than a 2weeks ago or so. He came for four hours only , I was guaranteed 24+ hours a week. I called and called and called. She never called me back. After calling corporate she called me back., made more lame excuses and still no help! Once I called corporate company they sent a mean woman here. After my sister and I were talking to her, for abt 40 mins to get aquainted, she jumped up and left! She said she didn't want to work. We were talking about what I needed. Which is very little. My sister and I were very cordial she was rude! I called the governor's office made a complaint and I never got any help. I am blind and disabled. I need help badly so I'm only giving a one star because it says you have to press the one or whatever you want and they're worse than nothing. They are nothing they did nothing lied fraudulent. They don't do the right thing and this person, She's lied to me the whole time. I've had to call corporate office of Home Helpers in order to get them to call this Garden City and call me back because she is very lazy and she doesn't do her job. It is a nightmare and I do not encourage anyone to go with this company. I complained with the governor's office and I'm doing this review and I'm going to senior Center's and I'm gonna tell him what they did to me. I feel SORRY for anyone who thinks these people can help anyone. I realize there are way older seniors who are at their,"mercy, they might be unable to get help or even tell anyone! I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets this abuse. Probably worse than this! I am 60 years old and for over a year. I've been blinded by a Dr. Disabled by another Dr. from the same Boise hospital group. I was healthy and a Bank president. This whole nightmare created since I was 37 yrs! Lindsay knew exactly what I needed, but she did not provide these people, so this is a terrible review(deservedly so)and I encourage anyone out there to not use them! If they're getting good reviews that is because probably people they know and not actual clients. I had a terrible experience the worst ever and I'm in desperate need of help. I can't do anything, nothing! So this is my review and they are worse than having no one!
