We showed up pretty late, so we were only able to do the Safari tour, which is one of the main attractions, but it was completely worth it. The way the Safari is laid out is unbelievable. Traveling through the park and seeing all the animals spread out across these huge open areas really makes you feel like you're on an actual safari. There's so much room and space for the animals to graze and move around naturally, and it was amazing seeing how different animals interacted with each other or how the sections were designed to feel natural and immersive. They also have a zip line that runs across the safari area and a hot air balloon that goes up and down over the park, plus plenty of other attractions and exhibits that we didn't even get a chance to see. Definitely worth checking out, especially the guided Safari tour portion. One important thing to note -- if you're searching for it online or using GPS, make sure you search for the "Safari Park" and not just the San Diego Zoo. The Safari Park is located up in the hills and is a completely different location from the actual zoo in downtown San Diego.

We went on a Sunday and it was busy. With SD Zoo, you feel more cramped and crowded when it's super busy. At the Safari Park, it's more spaced out so you're not walking shoulder to shoulder with people. For general parking it's $20 for all day. Preferred parking is $45. If you park in the general section, be prepared to walk up a steep hill. For the admission, it's $78 for an adult and $68 for a child. We paid $130 for the multi day/multi park for adults. We spent 6 hrs here and that's including lunch. If you save your aluminum cup, I think it's $3 for refills. Be expected to pay for exorbitant prices for the food. Food portions weren't tiny so that's a plus. They have a free African tram that's about 25 mins long. The line can get very long depending on what time you line up. They have a Journey into the Wild presentation that is worth checking out. There is only one showing at 1 pm in the Benbough Amphitheater. It runs for about 20 mins. I would get there early to get good seats. If you have extra money, they have experiences that you can pay for. They range from $32 to $760 depending on what you're interested in. One of the highlights is being so close to the kangaroos without any fences.

He shouted out the total for two wristbands and I let him know there was a different price online. He shouted out to purchase the wristbands online for that price. I walked away purchased the wristbands went back to pick up the physical wristbands. He scanned the barcode and put the wristbands on our wrist. And then with a smile said the list of rides that were closed. And then said " we are short staffed and due to that we do not have employees at the rides once they get here at 12:30 then you'll be able to get on the rides" I looked at my 10-year-old and said OK we'll go walk the beach and get a bite to eat until they open up. Guess what the staff never got there! Honestly, he thought it was funny when he told me that we weren't going to be able to get on rides until the other staff got there. There were a few rides like the mini dipper and the carousel. But who buys wristbands to get on a couple rides and then get on the bumper cart. If that's the case then I would've just bought individual tickets. LET YOUR GUEST KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED AND THE PARK WILL NOT BE RUNNING AS USUAL!! I had to keep looking for staff to let us on rides and then even then I wasn't able to get on every ride. I paid for a wrist band for myself and my daughter thinking that we were going to be able to enjoy the day but we were not. I do want to point out that I'm a single mom and low income and this was supposed to be something amazing for us. $100 to Belmont Park is absolutely nothing but for me it is. And just FYI, I a lot of people kept leaving the park upset. But for them, they didn't purchase wristbands. We waited till after 5 PM hoping that as the shift changed employees would come and open up all of the rides, but that never happened. I was hoping to get my money back for the wristband, but because the employee at the counter was so aggressive I was honestly afraid to go up and ask for a refund. I'm hoping Belmont Park will make this right and provide my daughter and I with an opportunity to return to Belmont Park at no charge to us and be able to get on the rides.

So it is near a lot of great entertainment! View: The view is incredible from here!! It's all outdoor seating and it was never crowded. They have one of the best views of any restaurant in the zoo!! The only downside is how dirty the tables were. The guy working this area was working very hard to clean it. However most of the tables were dirty. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

The horror campout was a blast!…read more The actors are really engaging from the moment folks start to line up. And they are far more creepy and realistic than the monsters you see in a typical haunted house. The Hell Hunt is really the draw to the whole event. Tons of fun. NOT easy! It really is important to read your dossier fully before arriving to put together all the clues and hints to help you along the course. The only aspect I didn't like was Blood Tag. But this was because of the participants. Even with goggles on, it is NOT ok to shoot people in the face, y'all! It might be helpful if the facilitators made this a rule of the game and announced it beforehand. The actors and "counselors" were just great all around. In addition to being creepy, and always staying in character, they were really helpful and genuinely wanted everyone to have a good time. For example, if they saw someone struggling, they would sort of help them along while still staying true to the game. *potential spoilers* Some favorite characters were: Sister, the doctor (meoooooow!), mothman (ULTRA creepy!), and the voodoo dancers (y'all really made me earn that shit!). One last suggestion/request - it would be cool to have a cookout, even if it's just hotdogs/veggie dogs and/or burgers or something simple like that. And coffee and bagels for breakfast would be nice (even though I didn't end up staying over, but had thought of that when I intended to). In all I had a really good time, and can't wait to do it again next year! Thanks for a great time!

We went here for one day and it did not feel like enough time to do everything, which was ok for us since we didn't see a need to try ever ride and experience everything they had to offer. Definitely for younger kiddos. We took our 4.5 year old who enjoyed the experience, but it could have been any kids theme park as we don't know much about legos. The experience might be more enhanced if you and your family are lego fans. The main park has some water play areas, so if it's a hot day your kids might enjoy the water (so I'd recommend you bring swim clothes and a change of clothes!) even if you didn't get tickets for the main water park.

If you come on a weekday, the lines aren't too bad. There are so many fantastic and well maintained playgrounds and play areas, and I appreciate the sensory room as a mother of two toddlers. Now, the shortcomings. Every employee we interacted with besides 2 of them seemed miserable. They had bad attitudes, didn't want to help, were too distracted talking to coworkers, etc. to bring a positive experience to the guests. My other complaint is that everything truly is so expensive. I understand it's a theme park, but the prices for food and drinks were absurd. We also were so excited for the driving school to get our son's "license" and it was $30 for a card with his photo and a lanyard. It's cute, but they could charge 1/3 of the price and still make a great profit. This price gouging makes the difference in regular trips or not. Also, standard parking was $40.
