This summer, my air conditioner stopped working. First thing in the morning, I looked up HVAC services nearby and picked these guys since they were open early and they were the closest. Somebody responded immediately and sent a technician in the afternoon. The tech did a thorough checkup and identified that the capacitor had gone bad. They also suggested that I replace the entire HVAC unit since it is almost 20 years old. I requested a quick fix which is to replace the capacitor. Capacitors seem to be very cheap when purchased online. They charged way more than the price, of course factoring in the time and labor involved with the analysis and replacement, it was reasonable. The tech who showed up was very knowledgeable. A few months later, in winter and a day after the first frost, my heater stopped working and I spent an entire night shivering in the cold. First thing in the morning, I requested conditioned air solutions for a technician and they sent someone within a couple of hours. The tech spent a lot of time checking the hvac system and identified the same issues as the previous tech mentioned. This technician was also very knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently. It was apparent that my HVAC is getting old and I could no longer continue with the temporary fixes. I decided to replace the entire thing and conditioned air solutions gave me an estimate and a payment plan. After I agreed, they booked a technician within a couple of days. The entire process went smoothly and their technicians have done an awesome job with the installation. They cleaned up well afterwards. I could not be happier with the service. I suspect that their prices might be a bit higher, but from what I understood talking to their techs is that the company pays them well and treats them well. So, all is well! Technician was high pressure sales person. Said the system was 10 years old and needed to be replaced. I showed him the system was 8 years old, no replacement needed. Technician did most of the work but failed to return to complete the job, although I was billed for the entire job and my credit card charged. I requested a refund for the amount of work charged to my credit card that wasn't completed. They did refund the amount of $526. They said I was eligible for a free electrical inspection, and would to schedule it. Months later no one called. You might want to be careful when using this company, read more

It hit 85 in my house today on a 6 year old unit from Conditioned air. Let that sink in before you call them. TLDR: Most expensive in the area for no benefit or gain over other companies. In fact, design of our system was extremely poor, we've had multiple mechanical issues, and overall the experience has been not the best compared to other companies. Please get multiple quotes, you will thank yourself We have an upstairs and downstairs unit from them installed in 2020. The primary issue relates to a pump-drain system installed by them. Our previous upstairs unit relied on gravity to drain condensation. After we got into the install of the new unit, I was then informed that the new unit would not fit in the attic and would have to be placed somewhere else. After their horrible plan to place it basically out in the open of the second story, I proposed a solution where it could be out in a newly constructed closet. No big deal except a few days later I noticed them installing some stuff next to it so I asked what it was. They explained that it was a pump for the condensation line. I expressed STRONG concern to deviating from a gravity fed condensation line. They swore up and down that multiple customers had them without issue. I foolishly trusted the name. Boy was I wrong. For the first several years, I suffered through that pump. At first, it was just crazy loud. When it came on, it almost covered the TV. So they built a box. Then it got worse. It has a fail safe trigger system that shuts the unit down if it isn't pumping right or the trigger flips. I spent COUNTLESS nights hot and sucking water out of that stupid thing to limp the unit along until a tech could come out. After a few years and many complaints, a tech finally acknowledged that many many customers were having the same issue and they had decided to try to install a better plumbing piece for most of them. So I was being lied to previously apparently. They scheduled me for the new plumbing install for the pump and it did a LOT better until writing this review. I just got my wife home from the hospital to a hot house. And you guessed it, condensation pump lines are full... I will most likely have these issues for the life of the unit read more

This company installed a new HVAC system for us last August when our 16 year old unit died. I wrote a glowing review for their expert installation. Today we got our first six month check up maintenance and the tech was Josh Sylvester. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Not only did he completely check everything to make sure it was working properly, but he also noticed that our dryer vent hose was partially plugged up and gave my husband suggestions for handling the problem himself if he didn't want to pay a technician for repairs. Conditioned Air came out to resolve a condensation problem with our upstairs HVAC system. The technicians determined an incorrect but expensive plan to resolve. After spending over $11,000 the problem is worse than before and with the added problem of considerable sheetrock damage to be repaired. After deceiving me and taking so much money and time, they have no clue how to resolve. Now their robo caller is calling to schedule my routine service appointment. Avoid this company at all costs, incapable of solving problems and very capable of fleecing you for thousands of dollar. read more

This HVAC company is hands down the best in Huntsville! They give highly accurate prices, I mean dead on, to where there isn't any surprises. I signed up for the maintenance plan that they have, where they come out and service my unit in the fall and summer, they take apart the unit and check and clean everything, I mean everything; voltage checks, freon check, leaks, fan blades, coils, fan motors, switches & etc. My unit was struggling throughout the summer and winter months. Turns out it was rather dirty, now my unit is blowing out strong air in every room, the house is now the same temperature throughout. Chad even took pictures as he serviced it to show me what the issues were, he also pointed out what I was doing wrong. I am glad that I found this company. The lady that answers the phone is really nice and understanding, they are the only company that services my unit now I will not let anyone else touch this unit as they have done the best job hands down! Just no! We recently had a problem with our AC and had this company check it out. We were having a lot of friends and family in town that week as there was a death in the family. Basically, we needed out AC to work. Something was causing it to leak water in our closet. The first tech did not inspect our unit completely as it is difficult to do so. Basically, he was lazy. We were told our entire unit needed to be replaced including all of the duct work. What does the duct work have do do with it? He "fixed" it temporarily as we requested. We were told the fix would probably last 2 weeks at. $500. Before that person left, my husband and I both told him the air coming from the vent was still hot. He insisted it was fixed and that it would cool in time. 3 hours later, our house had actually gone up in temperature. The second person sent out cleaned off our coils (another $125). Finally, cold air...for one day. The leaking then got much worse! Why would they not inspect it fully?! $700+ wasted, and it has now ruined another ceiling. We contacted a different company. They actually fully inspected our unit and determined it could be repaired by replacing some of the components. This will save us thousands of dollars! Condition Air Solutions was only concerned with selling us an entire new unit. Ridiculous! read more

Hire Again: No Approximate Cost: $370.00 Description Of Work: On 4/17, Conditioned Air came out and replaced a capacitor (Capacitor 35/5) in my Trane XB13 AC unit. The technician was at my house for ~5 minutes. The cost of the repair was $370 and was supposed to include a complete system diagnosis. The technician's comment on the invoice were "Found-replaced swollen capacitor and found system running within specs at this time." Because the technician finished the job so quickly (~5 minutes) I was dubious about the complete inspection. Total cost: $370 Total Breakdown of charges: $79 service charge (reasonable) $60 for after hours (still acceptable) $241 for the capacitor??? W**! The capacitor that was replaced can be found online for under $30, from multiple resellers. PexSupply sells the "Trane CPT977 Capacitor 35/5" for $26.45. I would understand even a 100% markup ($53), but an 811% markup is ridiculous. Other people online report paying under $100 for the entire job to get this part replaced. I could have saved $36 on the capacitor if I agreed to spending $200+ per year for an annual service plan. UPDATE 4/25: Conditioned air refunded $110, so the price was only $260 to replace the capacitor. UPDATE 4/30: The unit stopped working again. The same technician came back and noted on the invoice "System frozen due to clogged filter. Thawed system, removed filter, system running withing factory specs. Replace filter every 30 days." The filter he replaced was not brand new, but there was barely any dirt on it. The technician told my wife we needed to buy the cheap Fiberglas filters because the HEPA filters that we use restrict too much air I was dubious about the filter being the reason for the freeze up because I have been using HEPA filters for year, and have let filters get far dirtier than this in the past and there was no issue. Conditioned air charges $376 to defrost the a/c unit. I don't know what they did, but in the past, I have been told that the best thing to do is simply turn the unit off and let it defrost by itself. UPDATE 4/35: I had another company's technician come out and look at our system because I don't trust Conditioned Air's diagnostic. He found that our system was low on freon, which he said is the most common reason for a freeze up. He added the freon, problem solved. In conclusion: I would sure like to know how Conditioned Air has such high ratings on Angie's List. In 30 years of being a homeowner in three states with many different a/c problems, this company is the most expensive and least skilled I have dealt with. I do give them points for being available.. but I want someone competent. I will not use them again and would never recommend them. read more

I will admit that this proposal was not the low cost bid, but the quality solution we are living with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week proves that you usually get what you pay for. When I explained my situation to the receptionist, she made an appointment for me the day I called, and someone came out even earlier than the time that was given. The service was performed by Jason Carr, and I could not have asked for a nicer person to deal with. I had mold around vents in two bedrooms. Five years ago, an experienced company installed a new heating and cooling system. Their representative said we needed to replace our duct work at a cost of several thousand dollars. He did not even remove the vent to make this determination. Two other companies came and said the duct work was fine. Greg Dubroca, from Conditioned Air Solutions was outstanding. He explored many situations that might have caused the mold. He even looked at the square footage to make sure the units were sized correctly. He explained how glazing with humidifiers could cause excess moisture. His ability to analyze was far greater than the gentlemen from the other companies. I had never met Greg before and have no affiliation with anyone from the company.
