When he took our drink order, I asked if they had sweet tea. I was going to ask for half sweet and half unsweetened, but before I could finish, he quickly turned and walked away. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it, but unfortunately, the service continued in much the same way. We asked for extra napkins but never received them, so my daughter eventually got up and brought some back to our table herself. What really surprised us was that our waiter came by, took about half of the napkins she had brought over, and walked away without saying a word. We also asked several times for more chips and never received them. Before leaving, we asked once again so we could take some home with the guacamole we had left, and we finally received them. After I got home, I did call the restaurant and spoke with the manager about our experience. I understand that everyone can have a bad or stressful day, and perhaps that was the case. But when you're working with the public, a smile, a kind word, and simply making your customers feel welcome can go such a long way. I truly want to see smaller restaurants like this succeed, which is why I hope management will take this feedback as constructive and remind their staff how important good customer service is. I ordered Speedy Gonzalez which was a soft beef taco and a hard shell beef taco with rice. I ordered a small guacamole dip and a bottled Mexican Coke too! The service was quick and friendly. The beef was nice and hot and was well seasoned. The rice was fluffy and hot - and I note the whole plate was quite hot to the touch and emanated heat through my meal. This was fine with me, as I like to eat my food hot. The chicken was hot and there was a generous portion of chicken inside the enchilada - though by the time J got to it - I was full! I ate about 1/4 of the enchilada. I would return. The chicken was good - but I wouldn't repeat - not for lack of satisfaction/excellence - it's just not my fave. I prefer beef enchiladas or cheese enchilada. If I do eat chicken enchiladas, I prefer the green chile chicken enchiladas and these were not those - again no fault of anyone and the chicken was excellent quality and tasted fine - just not my preference.
