The price they quoted me was around $3,000, and I've included some pictures below. What concerns me most is the lack of trust I now have in their recommendations. I previously hired this company to do tuckpointing work for me. About three years later, I contacted them about touching up a few areas, and I was told the work was already in bad shape. When I reminded them that they were the ones who had performed the original work, the response was essentially, "Oh, we can just repair these couple of bricks. It's not a big deal." After that experience, and now being presented with what I believe is an unnecessarily expensive repair, I simply don't feel comfortable doing business with this company anymore. When you hire a company and spend good money on their work, you expect fair pricing, honest recommendations, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, that's not the experience I had.

I have had chinch bug problem in my lawn since last year which was destroying our front lawn. I was…read moremisdiagnosing the problem (thinking it was brown patch) all along and nothing seemed to work. Finally, I gave up and called Lawn doctor. Don (the owner) came to look over the lawn and he immediately found out the problem. He patiently explained to me the problem, showing the problem bug and even suggesting a solution. I was pleasantly surprised by his demeanor (very professional, not pushy) and decided to go with him for the application. Based on Don's suggestion, I could have been a prick and done the treatment myself from store purchased insecticides (I couldn't do it!). Don gave me a quote for two applications. I felt the quote was reasonable and justified. After the first application, the crew came to check the results. After checking the grass, (on the scheduled day of second application), I got a call that a second application was not necessary and therefore they hadn't applied it (and of course I wasn't charged for the second application). The company could have easily applied the second application and charged me for the same, and I would have probably paid for it without questioning. But the company didn't do it. It stuck to their morals. I personally felt very happy that such honest and trustworthy companies still exist even today. Now I know who to consult for all of my future lawn care needs and I would strongly recommend and endorse them for anyone looking for a lawn care company. (Note that I don't usually write out online reviews for companies, I only do so when I really feel touched by a companies gesture)

Customer Service was very responsive, and the work performed was good, however the work was incomplete. I had left for the day for work, and when I returned home the front, side, and even a portion of my backyard was not weeded. For the price that I paid, and the clarity that I thought was given to the team, I expected the property in its entirety to be weeded and was disappointed to find it 80% complete. When I responded with my disappointment to Customer Service, I was told that they would speak to the team. I have not heard since and weeded the remainder of the property myself a few days after.

My old concrete cement driveway was last more than 35 years. Spring 2014, I had Tom Sennstrom do install new concrete cement driveway. I picked him after I looked around my neighbor's driveway and he got good rating. After three years, there are many bug holes( thousands) on the surface of my concrete cement driveway. His explanation is fossil marking caused by the tree. I believe that he should look the dictionary what is the fossil. I did not agree his explanation. After many questions, he agreed to reseal my driveway. He is such a rude and is not willing to cooperate the date for the reseal job. I was very polite to remind the few days prior the date he decided to do the job. He did not appreciate even accused me to pick the date. He completely forgot it. Fortunately, I saved all the email to prove the date was told by him. He hang up my phone even I only said two sentences. He yelled at me "Speak English not Chinese!" when I asked the cracks between control joint in concrete slabs. This sentence from his mouth proves he is not an educated person or ..... I wonder he has business so many years, why he did my driveway such bad quality because I am Chinese. read more

09/24/25 - My front stair was in need of repair. My existing stair has a concrete base. The…read moreexisting concrete stair was covered w/an epoxy finish w/aggregate embedded in the epoxy base. Over the years the base started to chip & deteriorate. I was suppose to have the original contractor come out & refinish the coat every year or every other year, unfortunately this company went out of business. I saw an ad for a different type of flooring w/a polyaspartic base coat which is suppose to be more durable than epoxy. After an estimate & deposit was made w/Comer & Cross came out started grinding the existing coat off. After an hour of grinding my stair they told me they couldn't do the job because a corner of the concrete was chipped and they don't do concrete work. WTF? After I went through this fiasco w/Comer & Cross. My buddy told me about JL Concrete Design in Addison. I called them and spoke to Julia who was very helpful & friendly. She sent Joe out to take a look at the stair the next day. After inspecting the stair he gave me a quote, scheduled a repair. Joe came out as planned & finished the stair in less than1 day.

Owner is now backtracking his original statements trying to avoid any responsibility. For $4,000 this is shoddy workmanship. Mike who is the owner first started off very nice, then as late may went by I contacted him with no response. I then to had to contact him down again to check the status of my permit, as I did give him HALF the down payment. Finally I called the village myself and he finally contacted me. Time has gone by and they finished the job and man was it sloppy! They came back out to strip it and I pointed out their mistakes and how 2-3 family members also noticed these mistakes and the main guy on the job "EDDY" said "they are stupid, this is just a walkway and it doesn't really matter they are little things". **Mistake included many chips that will continue to chip and they were rushing they cant cut straight lines or even finish the line for that matter, (pictures to follow).** I continued to say that "it DOES matter to me because this is my house and my money". If it was free I couldn't complain of such a sloppy job. GET EVERYTHING IN YOUR CONTRACT EVEN THE SMALLEST THING! They wouldn't even come in to fill the dirt they took out for the job EXTREMELY CHEAP. I also had to clean up 12 nails so my lawn guy didn't damage his machine or anyone else hurt themselves. Finally my aunt wanted something called "a release of lein" so I kindly asked mike in text and his response was SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL i had to call him to set it straight ( **please refer to the pictures if you want to see the texts!!!**) They ARE NOT accredited by the BBB SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND GO WITH SOMEONE ACTUALLY DEPENDABLE!!!!!

He doesn't cut corners and uses the most durable materials. On to the work... I was not disappointed one bit. They were incredibly thorough. Teran even pointed out several simple solutions for issues we've had since we moved here back in '09 and just kinda "forgot" about. These simple little changes made all the difference in the world. Everything looks amazing. Even months after the job was finished, I have complete strangers stop in front of my house and compliment on how beautiful everything looks. One last thing, Jim is also not done with you once the job is done. Jim gave me a very fair price for the work, and his team did outstanding work! They tore out the old sidewalk and gutter drains, regraded and fixed the base under the sidewalk, replace the underground drains, and repoured the sidewalk. The end result looks fantastic!
