One thing I appreciated was that getting to the ride sharing area was a breeze and with an airport this small, there's not a ton of traffic. I also like the fact that there are a lot of local chain restaurants in the airport, so I was able to sample some treats before I had to fly out. Security was also quick and easy. No complaints!

I was told I was selected for a random security check…read more When I did the random security check, I was told I had alarmed two screening machines and needed a hand pat down. I wonder which it was - a random security check or did I really alarm two machines? I just went with the pat down and didn't ask questions as I didn't have the patience to ask about it - which might have been offensive and seen as questioning authority - which of course I wasn't (and didn't). The officer asked if I wanted to step in a more private area and I declined. He ran the back of his hands along my legs (front and back), across my buttocks and my genitalia - and he ran his hands inside my legs up to my genitalia and on the outside of my legs up to my hips. It wasn't what I was expecting at the airport - but an all clear was given after all that and away I went! The officer was polite and professional. I was grateful it was quick and respectful. The rating of a three that I am giving is only because of the mixed signals - was it a random security check or a pat down due to alarming two security scanning machines? It seems it would be either or, but not both?!?

Being from the SF Bay Area, those winter roads w/ snow and ice are not my fave :( My cousin told me recently, "Joplin has a Regional Airport and you can fly right in!" So I did: SFO to Denver to Joplin. The Joplin airport is small, attractive, modern, and has two rental car options (Avis, Budget), plus all the TSA personnel and security equipment as required. On the return flight, the agent checked my bags through to SFO upon arrival, I went through security, and joined the other passengers in the comfortable boarding area. Boarding was fast and efficient. I'm a fan! Rating: 5 stars

Agree with the review below me. Absolutely the nicest and cleanest restrooms in any airport I have…read moreever been. And I mean spotless. It also had this really nice chair with artwork above. Shocked. The outside looks more like an elementary school than an airport. We have a 6:20 flight and walked in at 4:20. Nobody was here. Security gates where closed but plenty of area to wander around and sit awaiting for them to open. TSA was a little slow to get through, but with few people in line and a little wait for the flight, it didn't really matter. There is some vending machines on the other side of security, a coffee area but that's it. Simple, small, clean is what you get. Almost feels more like a little private airport with the exception of TSA.
