Oldest lighthouse in Maryland!! Fun little outing today eating and walking the promenade on this beautiful day Definitely check it out if crossing by via the I-95

Beautiful place to visit. I would like to come back again. We were here for the Seafood festival. Which even with the rain turned out to be a very nice event. We selected VIP so they had a separate tent available. Drinks were included with $10.00 worth of tickets to go towards food purchases. Definitely would attend again!

Amazing part of town! In the City of Havre de Grace, MD. Love it here. Lighthouse, Big Fish, Susquehanna River views.

Fun walk with great view of the Chesapeake and Susquehanna converging. Lighthouse is a great place for photos. The pier is cool with the wood carved local birds and the veterans memorial is worth seeing.

Stopped by to stretch and enjoy the view. War of 1812 historic sight. Decommissioned lighthouse still standing.

Very quaint area with beautiful views all around. A slice of old world America preserved for passerby to observe and explore. Visit the nearby museums, both a one block walking distance from the lighthouse itself for an added experience.

Havre De Grace is just one of those towns that you will always go back to. I've always loved Havre De Grace. My husband and I decided to have our intimate wedding here last minute really. I contacted the coordinator and he allowed us to make a micro donation and placed reserved for private event signs for us on our day. Justin was wonderful to work with the light house wedding was perfect, gorgeous weather and everyone around respected our little wedding and stood afar to watch. Peaceful , beautiful and we wanted this place because it held special memory from our first summer together 7 years ago!

A wonderful little lighthouse right on the water. Plenty to do and see nearby! Don't forget to take a nice walk on the promenade and enjoy the nearby museums. This place is maintained relatively well - Usually free of trash and debris.

God's Beauty and grace despite a world of uncertainty.

Great stop with the family on our ride home. Very peaceful and relaxing boardwalk around the lighthouse. Interesting local museum's nearby.

View of the bay from beside the lighthouse.

Bottom Line: A nice historical landmark on the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay. The Concord Point Lighthouse is the image that many people associate with Havre De Grace. The lighthouse and the accompanying keeper's house are cute and quaint and sit on the edge of the bay where it meets the Susquehanna River which can result in turbulent waters. April through October visitors can climb the lighthouse for free although there are some restrictions on age and a recommendation to wear sturdy shoes for the final climb up the ladder. When you get to the top of 26 steps and 7 wrung ladder you can enjoy sweeping views of the Chesapeake Bay. If you can spare a few dollars, donations are appreciated and go towards repainting and restoring the lighthouse as necessary. After all, if I lived to be 188 years old I know I would need a little cosmetic work too!

After walking from the "downtown" section of Havre de Grace looking for the promenade, we stumbled upon the Concord Point Lighthouse, which is located just at the start (or end depending on which way you go) of the promenade along the Susquehanna channel between the river and the Chesapeake Bay. I had read about the lighthouse before our day trip, but nothing really mentioned just how tiny it would be! We thought maybe it was a replica/miniature and the "real" lighthouse must be somewhere else nearby, but, in fact, this lighthouse is it. The keeper outside directed us into the lighthouse to make the climb to the top. After going up the winding staircase, there is a short ladder to climb to reach the outlook. I would estimate two people can comfortably fit at one time. We took some pictures when we were at the top and then went on our way, probably spending about 5-7 minutes total from entrance to exit. Most lighthouses I have been to are much higher, so this was a unique experience in that it was the smallest lighthouse I have been in to date. Across the street is a small museum and gift shop, where they do sell bottled water for $1. Donations are appreciated for the lighthouse upkeep, and be sure to sign the guest book upon leaving. If you are in Havre de Grace, I recommend stopping by to check out this feature!

The ladder is a bit scary!

Very interesting sight along the promenade. What's so great about it is that you are able to go inside and up the lighthouse. Kids get a souvenir if they make the climb! (But they Must be 42" tall). There is a spiral staircase and a ladder. The ladder is a bit scary. There is not much space at the top. Glad we had this experience though. Definitely recommend it, just be aware if you are scared of heights.

I thought there was nothing to do near Aberdeen MD but I am so glad I found this place. I didn't expect a museum in a middle of the park to be so big and so good. The museum consists of about five different buildings with different theme in each one. Don't want to spoil it, just go. I figured I wouldn't spend more than an hour since I didn't think it would be that big. But I ended up spending almost three hours there! The main reason this museum is so great is the volunteers!!! Thank you so much each and every one of you (if you happen to read this). There is a volunteer working in each building (one was empty since the volunteer didn't show up[but you can still go in there]). All the volunteers are so knowledgeable and so friendly! They know everything! One guide/volunteer was asked a question to which he didn't know the answer to. He actually went out to find the answer from other volunteers! Even if you don't want to explore the museums the whole area is lovely to walk around. I saw a deer. For someone who lives in NY, that alone is enough to make my day. Anyways, once again THANX to all the volunteers and workers! You guys make this museum. For potential visitors, don't even debate if you should go there, JUST GO! But be prepared to spend at least two hours there! It's well worth it. BTW apparently people have weddings here too! I don't know if this would be my choice for a wedding location, but definitely worth revising!
