We had an initial tee time of 1pm for three foursomes on a beautiful July day for the 10th Annual Green-o Open...Being mid-day one would surmise that there would be a fair amount of other golfers on the course teeing off shortly before us, which there were. We teed off at 1pm sharp and were nipping at the heals of the two foursomes ahead of us the entire front 9. At the stretch before the back 9, we figured some water and a few beers would be in order given the scorching sun, 97.23% humidity and the 3 hours of bumper to bumper golfing that took place. Some dude working there (possibly a manager/owner/or general concerned citizen) was a complete sweetheart to our group of 12 gentlemen. We were scolded as if we were idiotic 6 year olds that have never golfed before. First, we were told there was a women's league going out, then a men's league going out. They were fairly insistent we play the front 9 again, which seems odd given this is an 18 hole golf course and I'm almost certain it's customary to golf all 18 holes. What strikes me as odd is that these tee times were booked a month in advance without hesitation. Hole #9 and Hole #12's cart paths intersect into what appears to be a nonsensical tangled web of gravel without proper signage to delineate which route will take you down the correct path to the next hole/tee. We made the egregious error of going down the wrong cart path, but don't worry the sweetheart was there to again to scold us further. Telling us we were taking too long. I thought golf was a game of inches and not seconds? All in all, our foray down the wrong cart path wasted a critical 18 seconds. After that we lost track of the sweetheart and we were left to continue our fabulous last 5 holes. All in all, it was a semi pleasurable experience. Just be on the lookout for men's league fellas and women's league ladies, they are not to be made to wait in the tee box when the course is chock full of golfers. Oh and that sweetheart in the stonewashed polo with the official Concord Crest embroidered logo - he's out to get you if you're not a regular. read more
