Iqbal Number 1 Driving School is terrific and should be your "go to" driving school for new drivers…read moreand experienced but nervous drivers (like me)! Let me explain. I have been driving for decades but stopped 3 years ago when I suffered a heart attack at my job. Forced to retire from working altogether, I was so overwhelmed by my medical circumstances and the fear of another heart attack, I stopped driving. This was not good for my confidence and independence, but I was too consumed with worry about my health to think about driving. A few months ago I decided that I had to start driving again for my own confidence and independence, as well as to give my husband a break from driving. I decided to call Iqbal Number 1 Driving School and I am so glad I did! Iqbal is a calming influence and a great confidence builder. He knows how to work with severely anxious people and truly is a soothing presence. He has helped me tremendously and I am grateful to him for getting me back behind the wheel again. I am still taking lessons with him but know I will be back on the road on my own in no time. Thank you Iqbal!!!!

Top of the list in its class. I am impressed by the instructor he is really talented in this area.read more

This school offers a nice balance between Montessori learn-through-play and directed study (which…read moremany Montessori schools lack). Our kids were in their pre-K program, and we were impressed by what they were doing during the year. We were even more impressed after the kids "graduated". At their kindergarten orientation (for the parents), we were given a list of things that the kids would know by the end of the year. The Lucas Ave. Montessori pre-K program essentially taught our kids the entire kindergarten curriculum. In other words, our kids have a great start on their education, thanks to the Lucas AVe. Montessori.

I liked Shane and the whole "The Elders" mambo Jambo but i was really looking forward to a lot of hands on stuff like fire building, shelter building among other wilderness survival skills but no it was just Shane talking about a lot of you could do it but we won't do it today so please sign up for the other 80 classes where you might learn how to do these things. Yes I know you cannot learn all of this stuff in one class but for the time and money I felt like I could just go on my phone and look these things up. Don't get me wrong I had fun, but Shane please get rid of the classroom like benches and have your students try to do things from the moment they get in and on the cold days please light a fire and keep everyone warm, people will be able to digest the information better when they are not freezing. Yes I know fire is sacred and it has to be earned but don't torture the students for the whole day and only at the end light a fire. Enjoyed the elder stories, didn't like being super cold for super long. I personally will not be taking 79+ classes but I would suggest this to others to see what they have to say about their experience. Teaching is sacred and you don't have to torture your students to get the point across.

As a life-long city person whose always wanted to learn about survival and existing in nature, the…read moreWilderness Weekend was a dream. I highly recommend getting out there over multiple days, if possible. Over the three days I spent there (Friday night, Saturday, Sunday), I felt a slow shift in my mindset and internal clock. It felt good to 'relax' and quiet my usually raucous head. After spending time with Shane, it's obvious he's incredibly knowledgeable, and as he takes you on walks through the woods, he drops a wealth of details about plants, trees, tracking and more. I have pages of sketches I took while on the trail. It's impossible to absorb it all, but I certainly tried haha. I'm definitely coming back. During the weekend, I learned about building shelters, and how to ensure you've set camp in a safe place. I learned about fire structures, attempted to build one and light it with one match (2 out of 6 of us were able to do so, which goes to show that understanding the teachings and being able to execute them are a matter of continuous practice/study). I also got to learn how to make cordage from natural materials, the structure of a basic trap, and practice knife-skills. I'd encourage those interested in attending to think of the school as an academy, rather than a one-off experience. Though you can get a lot of out one class (from information, to a relaxing, cleansing time away from the city), it's clear that the only way to truly learn and absorb the material is to practice and study it the same way one would practice a musical instrument.

This daycare struck the perfect balance of having the warm family-run vibe, but they were very professional when it came to dealing with payments, daily reports, etc. Thank you so much to the entire Young Hearts family, but especially Miss Katie and Miss Victoria for taking care of our baby! We actually communicated our intentions to move our children to the Director, and she promptly sent us a ridiculous letter accusing us of spreading mistruths and informing us that we would not be able to continue to receive care until the date when we would be admitted to our next day-care. Who does this? We had not spoken any untruths. We had simply informed one family of a situation that impacted them directly. And we were told not to return to the day-care. This created a huge crisis for us requiring grandparents to fly to our rescue. I cannot explain nor excuse the extremely callous and unprofessional actions of this daycare! We are so grateful to have moved our children to Bright Horizons!

When I…read moretested, on a Saturday, there was a security guard at the entrance; he was very nice and kindly provided directions to the test center. When you walk in, the elevator is on the left. Take it up to the proper floor and pass through the glass doors on the left. Take a right and the suite will be on the left. I only provide directions because there was some construction going on at the time and it could be a bit confusing for a stressed out examinee. The staff are incredibly polite, understanding, and always smiling. They try to accommodate everyone and ensure each test taker is comfortable. I took the MCAT here when I had the flu, and the proctors provided tissues and came by periodically to distribute more or collect the used ones. There is a small table for personal items (water, snacks, cough drops, chapstick, etc.) just outside of the exam room that test-takers can access at any time without having to go through the signature, fingerprint and security check. I believe there are 10 seats in the center. 6-8 seats face the windows and the remainder face a wall. I went in late June and the room was not too heavily air conditioned; I wore an oxford button-up shirt and pants and had no discomfort. The restroom is a bit of a hike down the hall and it was very easy to get lost with lots of twisting hallways. Perhaps that will change, as it seemed they were doing some construction/ reorganization. If it's something that worries you, ask to see the location of the restroom before you start the exam. There is a parking garage beside the building as well as parking on the street. There is a bus stop just outside the parking garage as well on the Civic Center Plaza side, with a bench if you have to wait for a ride.
