It was well priced and had long paved pull through sites with full hook ups. There are pecan trees and a bit of grass between the sites. There are no picnic tables or fire pits which didn't bother us much. There are showers and laundry machines which we did not utilize. There is a wonderful and peaceful park right there that has a playground, a field, and walkway. It was a nice and quiet area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely keep this place in mind if ever we are in the are again.

From Amarillo to Galveston, looking for something out of the ordinary, we some how ended up at the Texas Ranger and glad we did. Clean, comfortable, quiet and a very rustic feel the owners have done a great job on the place. Gary and Paula, the managers, did a great job of making us feel at home. There isn't much around. We brought dinner with us (micro wave in room) and enjoyed dinner with a view after a nice swim in the pool. One thing that is not mentioned on their web site is that the room are adjoining, which is perfect if you have kids. Next time I'm going have to you the bbq area. It looked fun. Enjoy you stay!

My husband and I pulled into the campground for the evening for a single night stay. This park is not for a traveler. This park appears to have "lifers" only. The grounds are not kept up, the sites are hard to interpret, (it appeared someone was in our space and had been for some time) and the place is old and run down. (campers and all) I did not feel safe parking here. Fortunately, I was able to find us a place a few miles away. I would like to add that the park did not contact me when I did not show up.

It has now been 3 weeks, and I still have not received anything. I have called multiple times and keep getting different answers -- that it's up to "corporate" or that a check has already been sent, yet nothing has arrived. One staff member (Meagan) was especially rude and dismissive when I tried to get an update, which made the situation even worse. Lisa was the only person who showed kindness and professionalism, but unfortunately she is no longer there. At this point, I am simply asking for the refund that was promised. I hope management takes this seriously and resolves it immediately.

They proceeded to say the boat ramp was closed. On a Tuesday? When the races aren't until Friday. What? Plus, THE BOAT RAMP IS OWNED BY THE CITY!!!. They had nothing blocking the ramp or any signage saying it was closed, which it's theirs anyways. The same thing happened to another guy shorty after I started fishing the docs. I had my dog with off the leash and of course here comes Karen saying to put a leash on my dog when we were in a fenced part. She proceeded to ask me if I was fishing the docs when I clearly had a pole in my hand and I simply replied "yea". She proceeded to tell me she owned the marina and docs. I proceeded to say "ok" then turned my head back to my pole slightly shaking my head a giggling. She proceeded to say "if you want to continue to get shitty I'll have you kicked out." There are no signs ANYWHERE that say the docks are private property or no fishing or to keep pets on a leash. This is outside the rv park so those rules may be different inside. Maybe spend some money and put up signage saying it's private property so people know. They definitely need to worry less about me and fix every dock. Some wobble terribly so you can easily fall in the lake, some have boards sticking up that people could trip over. One is completely missing a board so a child could easily step through and break their leg. I planned on buying minnows and beer and go launch at a different ramp and spend more money there during the boat races. However, I'll never spend another dime at that place. GOOOD JOB KAREN!!!!

I have never in my life shared my living space with a roach ever and I was not going to start. I called to let the park know and they seemed unconcerned...their response was "we never heard of that before" well I'm telling you, they have a roach problem somewhere. We left, I can not live in that kind of environment. I again suggest to the owner they call a company to spray. The spot we were at were full of glass, they do not clean there is litter throughout the park on the ground. They do not enforce their own rules, dogs left outside in chains, barking, tarps covering RVs, no one picks up after their animals. This park did not meet my standards at all. I have never left a park earlier than we reserved until we stayed here.

We wished we could have stayed longer! Don't miss the store to pick up fresh eggs, jams or goat soap and walk down to the river to fish :)
