I politely asked if the seasoning could simply be left off due to an allergy, and my request was refused. Rather than accommodating a simple dietary restriction, I was told that the dish wouldn't taste the way the chef intended. While I understand wanting to preserve the intended flavor, customer health and safety should come first--especially when dealing with allergies. I find it concerning that no effort was made to accommodate a reasonable request or even ask about the severity of the allergy. In today's restaurant industry, flexibility and customer care are important. Unfortunately, I found the service to be very unaccommodating, and given the high prices, I expected much better. I will not be returning.

As the night went on and a few more people came in, they ran out of most of the seafood in general and the latecomers had to change their order three times because of the things they ran out of. They have a "boiled & bagged" option where you choose seafood, your flavor, spice level and add on any extras like potatoes or corn. Since there was no crawfish, I got shrimp with their Aloha Crab Special Blend (described as tangy, bold and full of flavor) which is similar to special sauce at any seafood spot, with medium spice and added 2 potatoes. When it arrived, it wasn't bagged which is fine but non-traditional to what I'm used to. They gave gloves and had a good portion (1lb as described) but the flavor was just okay in comparison to other spots and the sauce was also very watery. Overall, it was okay but I probably wouldn't order the seafood here again. Other people who got the regular dishes said they were pretty good so I might try those if I visit a next time. This spot also has karaoke which I heard they only do on specific nights but if you know the people who work there, they allow you to karaoke whenever. They pulled out the karaoke for this night but it was mostly just Vietnamese songs which is fine because that was the crowd that was there. Overall, still a cool place if you have a large party but interested to see how the other food options are if I visit again.

The young lady who assisted me pointed me to a handwritten menu on a standard 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of paper. There are some starters, including conch fritters and wingettes and several meal choices. Each order came with rice and peas (yes, I said rice and peas, not peas and rice), and a choice of two sides. We ordered fried Snapper with potato salad and coleslaw, fried Snapper with macaroni and coleslaw, and fried shrimp and conch with potato salad and coleslaw. The fish were nice sizes and well-seasoned. The conch and shrimp were golden brown and tender! The coleslaw was fresh and the potato salad, even though it gave me Publix vibes, was homemade and delicious. The macaroni was of the island that includes a bit of green pepper, but not too much. I am a peas and rice snob, but the rice was suitable. Unfortunately, I never got to try Dwikey's, but I did taste Glen's, and I'll be back for more. One final note, in spite of being, "cooked to order," we did not wait long! Glen's does take phone orders with an upfront Zelle or CashApp payment. It's a Bahamian ting!

The Haitian music was loud and energetic, giving the restaurant a lively, authentic vibe. My waitress was friendly at first, and I ordered the meatballs, black rice, mac n cheese, and plantains. The food was excellent -- full of Caribbean flavor and spice. They provided piklis, but the meal already had plenty of heat. I also ordered a lychee martini that was really good, although I requested extra lychees and never received them. Service became an issue as the meal went on. My waitress took a long time to return and never checked back in; I eventually had to flag someone down just to pay. I was also given a dirty fork with visible crusted food on it. I told my waitress and asked for plastic utensils instead. When the bill came, I noticed a charge for the plastic utensils. I explained again that the original fork was dirty, and she told me it didn't matter -- that's just their charge. I even tried to show her the fork, and she still insisted it didn't matter. I asked for a manager, who looked at the fork, confirmed it was dirty, and removed the charge. It feels unreasonable for a restaurant of this caliber to charge a customer for requesting clean utensils, especially when the ones provided were dirty in the first place. The food itself was delicious, and that's the one thing they absolutely excel at. I'd return and order takeout solely for the great food, but I wouldn't dine in again.

Got there to receive the food. The wait wasn't long (which I love). I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I expected it to be good but on top of that, it was flavored so well. Everything on the plate I enjoyed. Anybody looking for Haitian food should stop by and try this place. You won't be disappointed.

The restaurant is on the east side of 441 just south of Sheridan street. We came from the east and made a u turn at 441 and entered the parking lot through the Mobil gas station. Parking is at a premium here as there's a Family Dollar store and a Sedano's supermarket in the same strip. They specialize in seafood boils. On the window outside they were advertising chargrilled oysters for a $1 each. Dine in only. Woohoo. My husband and I each ordered a dozen oysters and one side of potatoes. The chargrilled oysters were great. Dowsed in garlic butter, and served hot, they actually tasted chargrilled. They came with lemon wedges and a few slices of bread to sop up the oyster flavored butter. The side of potatoes were three small red bliss potatoes that had been steamed. They were plain -- no seasoning --but that was okay as I also dipped them in the leftover garlicky butter. Two things I didn't particularly care for were 1. that they served plastic ware to eat the oysters. And 2. They automatically include a gratuity on the bill (but they said so up front). To sum up: Bottom line -- liked the oysters (especially for $1 each) but didn't like having to use the plastic forks.
