Rob answered all my questions over the phone and guided me without requiring me to be a customer. He simply was trying to help me. From that moment, I knew Custom Paint n Body was a great business. If I had to be really really picky, I would recommend Rob or any other worker to keep customers updated throughout the process. I texted him and felt it should've been the other way around. just a terrible experience overall with this place. and the owner somehow made me feel like i'm…read morebeing the unreasonable one. i paid out of pocket to get my door, which was dented due to me scraping my wife's side view mirror, fixed and repainted in 2024 when i was living in whittier. ended up seeing when i brought it home that the paint was missing in some places (some pinholes where the metal was still visible) and also some lint stuck in the paint (see pics). obviously wasn't happy, so i brought it back and the manager at the time, Orlando, agreed to repaint it. I wasn't the nicest about how I conveyed my discontent, and I own that. The owner, Tony, made it a point to say i'm just a picky guy which kind of pissed me off, but I honestly don't know one person that would be okay with paying for a sloppy paint job. well, fast forward to now, roughly 2 years later, and i see rust spots forming under the window trim and 2 chips in the paint under the TUNDRA badge where there's clearly another layer of white paint underneath. it seems to me that, instead of repainting, they buffed the problem areas and sprayed over the initial paint job. Well, the office manager, Cesar tells me to bring my truck on the weekend. i end up having to push to the following weekend. I drop my truck off, pay $80 to Uber home to the IE, and Tony calls me Monday afternoon to basically tell me he doesn't know why Cesar told me to bring the truck in and that i was a pain for coming back to him with my complaints back in '24, and that he wasn't going to do anything for me. he told me to come pick up the truck and hung up on me. keep in mind Cesar had over 2 weeks between when I first talked to him and when I brought my truck in to talk to Tony. anyways, I paid another $80 to uber there and pick up my truck and we're cordial to each other. he tells me how he buffed the rust stains off and added touch up paint to the chips so I don't get more rust. i'm over it so I grab my key and take off. they talk about how their work is guaranteed, but it wasn't for me, so be warned. the only place on that entire truck that has rust spots and chipped paint is where Whittier Collision 2 did work.

I took this car to this body shop twice for both upgrades; one for the bumper and lip and the other for the trunk and wing. I really can't tell that the paint on the bumper, trunk, and body are not from the same painting run; the color match on these panels is that good. Pricing was pretty fair and Honorio was very meticulous when it came to getting all of the details right. A very special THANK YOU to Tony, who took care of my mom's car. He was attentive from the very beginning, explained what needed to be addressed, and made certain the repair was handled with both precision and urgency. He was even able to help us get her vehicle back the same day. While I certainly understand that same-day turnaround may not be possible for every repair, the level of effort, responsiveness, and personal attention he gave us was truly remarkable. The finished result looked seamless, polished, and professionally restored. What distinguishes R.B. Paint & Body Center is that their technical expertise is matched by outstanding service. I only discovered it once I got home. When I confronted the shop owner, Pat, he admitted to the damages but communication from that point on became challenging and more difficult than it needed to be. There were long gaps without his response and at times the tone felt dismissive or unnecessarily tense, which made the situation even more stressful. I've made many attempts to work with Pat to find a fair and reasonable solution. To this day, I'm actually still waiting for a reply to my last message asking again to discuss a reasonable solution. After repeated non-responses and apathetic communication, it became clear that no compromise would be reached. The only option he is willing to offer is the one solution I clearly stated I'm not comfortable with: bringing my car back this same shop that damaged it in the first place. Given the damages my car received from 5 Stars Automotive, my hesitation is understandable. I even tried to negotiate a different solution by providing multiple repair estimates from other reputable auto shops and he responded by calling this practice "dishonest" (very ironic, I know). I'm leaving this review because I believe it's important to be transparent about my experience. I put my trust in this shop to restore my car's appearance, but instead I'm forced to deal with additional damages they caused.
