I have had baby highlights done before, and I have never had such an awful experience in my life. Unfortunately, the results looked almost exactly the same as my original color and even appeared darker in some areas. What made the experience more frustrating was that the instructor did not agree or acknowledge that the result was not what I had requested. As a customer, it's disappointing when your concerns are not taken seriously. I paid $120, and like everyone else, I work hard for my money. Now I have to go somewhere else and spend more to get this fixed. I truly had hoped to become a regular client here, but after this experience, I would not recommend this place to others.

Today I came for a more complex project, which was to fix a bad haircut (from a fancy salon in San Francisco that rhymes with la vida). The student today, Caren, listened carefully to what the issue was. We discussed options, she washed my hair and then I spent a wonderful hour talking with her while watching her giving me the coolest haircut - French Bob/ Wolf Cut/ 60's flip. I loved this haircut so much I gave her my telephone number and encouraged her to reach out when she graduates and works in a salon.

I had an another amazing appointment at the Paul Mitchell School East Bay with the stylist Sean!…read more this time I got a haircut and it came with a wash and style. Sean, as always, was amazing and was very accommodating to my fidgetiness. It's always fun to talk to her as she is very kind, funny, and takes pride in her work. The teachers, Harley and Derrika, were also super helpful and very kind. they both took the time to educate me as well as my stylist and gave great tips for hair protection & technique. The only reason that it's four stars is because when I was scheduling, the front desk gave me misinformation on Sean's schedule and it was difficult to rebook with them to get the correct schedule. However, this was over the phone and rebooking in person was much easier. I still highly recommend for people looking for good quality services at a decent price!

Found a gem of a student with great instructor support (when needed). Mentally, keep in mind that these are students. The quality has been top notch but most things take about twice as long due to learning needs. If you visit, keep this in mind with respect to the student. You can book at the front BUT...if you call, it sends to a remote cost center. They are also only open during the week...no weekends. My treatment today was outstanding and I cant praise my stylist and her teachers enough. The only thing I dont like is the creepy psycho killer looping music in with the wash basins. Otherwise..5 stars all around!!

Ladies, end your search for natural brows. Vanessa with Studio V is unmatched. I went to lady…read morebefore her that didn't listen and wasn't asking my preferences. Vanessa was the opposite. "Show me what you don't want, okay, now what about what you do want". That's what Vanessa gave me, full control, with an educated opinion from an artist who KNOWS. I was so nervous, but she alleviated my fears by explaining every step of her process and being so open yet confident and perfectionistic about giving me the best brows. If you're worried about the pain, don't be. She made it minimally painful and I'm not great with pain. I would recommend her through and through. My husband, who didn't even understand why I wanted this said "babe, you look great". Thank you Vanessa, I appreciate you. See you soon for my retouch and more in the future.

At my annual brow visit, she had introduced her permanent jewelry business and I was thrilled because I had been trying to find someone to do it! Over the years I have recommended Vanessa for both microblading and permanent jewelry. Her business has grown so much over the years and she now has hairstylists and a nail artist at her studio! Microblading: Microblading has completely transformed my brows. The process itself was relatively painless, thanks to the numbing cream applied beforehand. Vanessa takes the time to measure and shape my brows to suit my face each appointment. After a few short hours, I leave the salon with beautifully natural-looking eyebrows that framed my face perfectly. The pigment looks incredibly realistic, and the fine hair strokes mimic real brow hairs. It's been years now, and my brows are still looking fantastic! It's definitely a time-saver in my daily beauty routine. Permanent Jewelry: The concept of permanent jewelry was completely new to me years ago, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. The process is simple - I have had multiple delicate chains fitted to my wrist without the need for clasps. It's lightweight, comfortable, and I never have to worry about losing a bracelet again! It feels like a subtle yet meaningful addition to my style, and I love how it complements my other jewelry. It's a beautiful way to keep a piece of jewelry with you 24/7, and I get a lot of compliments on it. Both treatments have enhanced my daily routine and overall look. I highly recommend microblading to anyone looking for fuller brows and permanent jewelry for those who want to add a unique touch to their accessories. The convenience and longevity are definitely worth it!

Current student going through the program and may change rating based on ongoing experience…read more I started the program about 2-3 weeks ago, mainly because they recently began offering weekend classes, which worked well for me since I have a demanding full-time job. So far, unfortunately, my experience has not been great. I'm not sure if it's because the hybrid/online model is still new for them, but it really feels like they don't have the process fully organized yet. Most of the issues come down to lack of communication and unclear expectations for online students. Once I paid my deposit, I wasn't really guided through the next steps. I was briefly shown the portal we use for coursework (CIMA) and told to download WhatsApp because that's how we communicate with instructors. Beyond that, I pretty much had to figure things out on my own. I even had to personally ask questions in the group chat because I was confused, and it turned out several other students felt the same way. Eventually we found out there's an orientation every Monday, but nobody clearly explained that upfront. The virtual learning environment has also been frustrating. During online sessions, chats are muted and virtual students can't really ask questions because the instructors are focused on the in-person class. That honestly makes no sense to me considering online students are paying the same tuition as in-person students. It feels like the virtual students are an afterthought. Even submitting homework has been confusing. We use Dropbox, but I was basically just told to "download Dropbox" and had to dig through old chat messages to find the actual submission links and instructions. At this point, I honestly feel unclear every step of the way. I spend more time trying to figure out logistics, apps, links, and expectations than actually focusing on learning. The frustrating part is that these seem like very simple organizational issues that could easily be improved with clearer communication and better onboarding for online students. I'm still early in the program, so I hope things improve over time, and I'm open to updating my review if my experience changes.
