I purchased a vehicle out of state and was limited on time to be dealing with dmv . Called 4 places atound my area and others did not pick up . Spoke with conar he basically stated to streamline everything smog the vehicle and then we can do everything else without issues since sometimes the smog is the hang up when cars cant pass , he advised regardless of smog outcome he can still hel he ran the rough numbers for fees and registration fees and yes it was fair compared to other places offering vin verification and registration services. First off let me start out by saying, if I could give this place 10,000 stars I would. A little backstory about how I came across Conar. About 2 months ago I December I was looking into purchasing a used vehicle that was registered in a different state and was concerned about registering it in California once I purchased it. So I began to do some research of my own and the information I came across on Californias dmv website was very confusing and it what I gathered from the confusing information was that it was not possible unless you already own the vehicle and are just registering it in California or if it is a new vehicle purchase from out of state. Needless to say I was very disappointed and more so confused. So after a few hours looking at forums and still being confused then lastly calling the dmv themselves and asking if it is possible, the dmv agent couldn't clarify herself if it was possible and I was very disappointed and discouraged. So I ended up coming across Conar's website and was very interested and also seeing that they were local to me, I had a small light in me re ignite. I clicked on their Yelp page and read every single Yelp review and I was amazed on all the positive reviews about Conar. So I decided to give them a call the next day and I spoke to Mario and asked him if it was possible to buy a used vehicle from out of state and register here in California and he said yes and he had said the Dmv is confusing and he made it very clear what documents I needed to have in order to register my vehicle in California. And all of this happened before I bought the vehicle, we didn't have a appointment set or anything. Mario is just a plain and simple polite and kind person. So once I purchased my vehicle out of state with confidence I called them up and set up an appointment and came in and within 20 mins my vehicle was registered in California. Let me to who ever is interested in this auto registration business. It's 1000x more convenient and easier to go with them rather then the dmv. So registration fees new issued license place etc. paid. And I was in my way. Fast forward to yesterday my license plate was stolen off my truck and I had to file a police report and I was told I needed to go to dmv to get a new license plate and I was dreading having to go to the dmv. So the following day (today) i decided to call Conar again and I spoke to Mario and he remembered me and I told him what had happened and I asked if I could come to them to get a new license plate and he said it was not a problem. Once again super polite, so I asked him if he had availability for today and I was prepared for him to say they were booked solid, and to my surprise he was able to fit me in and once I got there, I was in and out within 10 mins with a new license plate. The crew at Conar is how any business should operate. I never once felt like I was burdening them or didn't feel like if I'm not doing business right away then I'm not important. They treated me like family. I 1000% recommend them to anyone who needs and dmv auto services. I will be definitely using them from now on. A service review update. TLDR: For lost plates (and sticker), Conar saved me a lot of time (again) by reducing time from more than 1 week + DMV visit (uggh, I would rather get my tooth pulled out) to 48 hours for a very very reasonable service price. The details: My spouse lost her rear license plates (which has the registration sticker). I suspect it's stolen. Why would anyone steal a license plate? See below. I also installed the license plates, and I always do quality check after my work. No, I'm not blameshifting because how can two screws unscrew themselves simultaneously because of say... road bumps? Statistically, that's highly highly unlikely, which is why it's safe to fly a twin engine planes such as Boeing 777: double failure is highly unlikely, but I digress. To make matters worse, I'm overseas on a family emergency. Gosh why, do things happen when you're away? Murphy's Law, I suppose. Anyway, so I'm a DIY guy, and after searching the web, DMV has a link with forms to replace license plates. Great right? An automated system, so it should be fast and easy! Have you seen Zootopia? There's a sloth in its DMV. Not a fiction. Firstly, the link has geofencing, so I can't access it (though I think if you run VPN, which I didn't at the time, it should work), so my wife had to fill it out, which she did. Then a couple of days later, DMV responded and says: sorry, we can't process this, you have to go to DMV field office... I had such high hopes with DMV's automated system, and of course it brought me back down to earth. So, then I remembered: Conar! I registered two cars from out of state (which is a lot harder than pulling teeth if done by yourself) with Conar. Perhaps Conar can help. Help is an understatement: Conar executed quickly and easily at a reasonable price. We did all of our correspondence via e-mail. I just had to explain the situation, provide the required documents, and pay the fees via Paypal. 48 hours later my wife received her plates with the stickers. Imagine going to DMV which takes hours (if you're lucky). My wife said, smart people don't wait in line, they save time by utilizing Conar's services! Re: Why do people steal license plates? I was told that they may use it to go through tolled lanes or the bridges without FastTrak. The camera then captures your license plates, and the bill goes to you. If you suspect your license plates were stolen you'll need to do two things: 1). Make a police report, and 2). Replace your plates and sticker ASAP. read more
