The atmosphere and decoration is simple and cozy and I wouldn't have believed that the food was going to be so amazing if I wasn't with Italians. First we started off with a multi-course starter, each a perfect portion of unique seafood. There was some raw seafood, followed by a baked dish, some shrimp, and calamari. I've only had fried calamari before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But this was perfect in a very light sauce that didn't drown the flavor of the calamari and was very soft and not chewy. Then I had some lobster pasta which was AMAZING. Unfortunately, at this point I was too full and with the lack of sleep (from flying to Italy on a midnight flight) and just couldn't manage to eat the second course of more seafood. Too bad! But there was just a little space for dessert... I had walnut ice cream. It wasn't very creamy and almost crumbled when we took a spoon full! This was another of my most memorable and favorite meals in Italy. I think this is probably the best restaurant in the area of Pisa.

I've probably been here around 10 times when I was in Italy. Apparently this spot is incredibly popular by the locals during the summer who go to the sea for vacation from the interior cities like Firenze. In fact, reservations during the summer can be extremely tough to get. Best Italian food I've ever had and the fixed menu was incredible and such a good deal! Basically on the fixed menu you get (in my case between two people) two plates of pasta, either spaghetti allo scoglio or alle vongole and then between penne agli scampi or penne ai gamberi , followed by a mixed calamari platter with french fries and fried shrimp, water, and then either still or sparkling wine. Oh and a coffee to finish off the meal right! All of that food for around 15 euros. (Tip/ tax included). Although the pasta can be a bit too oily, it's honestly the best tasting one I've ever had in my life. It's probably one of the biggest things I miss the most in Italy ! Then the fried platter reminds me of something America would do. Far from healthy and the quantity is enormous. If its just two of you, you probably won't finish it. Still so good, nonetheless. Service for Italian standards was really good ! Nothing out of the ordinary but their still super friendly. If you're in the area, Italian or not , be sure to give this place a try!! We tried their daily special: fresh spinach tagliolini pasta served with salty creme and squid, it was delicious and soft. Also being a sunny day, the view was relaxing. Their shellfish fry is light and not oily. Very recommended during low seasons, when you can enjoy the silence and beauty of this place.
