A big fat zero!!!!! I just bought a home in need of a spring clean up and spoke to John and I explained we aren't moved in yet however the home needs a spring clean up. He said he would take care of it and trusted him being we weren't moved in yet. We arrived the following day to find it in the exact shape it was in. Called him and he insisted his men where at my home! I told him they must have gone to a different house because they definitely weren't here. new to Conkel...they removed a dead cedar,other trees,from my backyard, and reseeded and leveled top soil. they did a good job,now they are now prepping my lawn,for the next season...also impressed, they did an aeration of my lawn,with other services to follow,my previous landscaper did not do....yes they are hard to reach by phone,but reserving final judgement until i have used them for longer then a few months. my wife and i found john powers to be somebody we dealt with in a cordial manner,so rudeness not an issue.. read more

Do not use this company!!! If I could give them zero stars, I would. Crew was caught on camera breaking our gazing ball, mowing and blowing AROUND the broken glass, and then upon my mother requesting they fix what they broke, told us that we should find a new landscaper because our property was too difficult. They finished out the year for us and did our fall "cleanup", which was more or less blowing the leaves off our lawn and onto our cars and all over our neighbors cars/yard furniture. I was not a client of Con-Kel however unfortunately for me my neighbor was. Their crews, Laborers and Supervisor(s) are a disgrace. There was never any attempt to contain debris and the resulting by products of servicing their every shrinking client base to their clients property. Be prepared to clean up your yard right after they are "finished" if they service a neighbor. One particular spring time I was obviously performing the task of painting the trim on my house and two disgusting employees operating the blowers blew debris all over the my property and the house trim. I verbally confronted them and the nasty "supervisor" said too bad. What a disgusting organization and management is the culprit. I had to give them one star or I would not have been able to write a review on Yelp, however they deserve no stars. read more

We got three estimates for our front yard and Mr. Power gave us the best estimate for the work. He was even able to start the job a few days earlier earlier than he expected. His crew got the job done in an effective and efficient manner, doing a great job of cleaning up and making our yard look phenomenal. Mr. Power accommodated any changes willingly, and even did a great job of giving suggestions for more improvements. Mr. Power was responsive, on time, and reliable. We certainly got our money's worth, and would hire him again for more work. read more

Quick job landscaping my back yard and breaking up some concrete. Made everything look beautiful. Workers were all very nice and boss did exactly what he said he was going to do for a fair price. Never received any word about the price, and was charged for "snow removal" which was never done... Ridiculous company and corrupt business tactics. This is a complaint about this company. They do landscaping for the city of Bellerose, NY. I was driving by in my car one day, while they were doing some landscaping work for the city. As I drove by, a worker was using a weedwacker in the street, against the sidewalk curb, this caused something to fly into the car window, and shattered it! I stopped the car, and went to tell them and show them what had just happened. They were kind of rude, and absolutely not apologetic, and just gave me the phone number of their boss to call. We tried to get in touch with the person in charge for a few weeks, after having to change our car window (200$ later), and never were able to get in touch with them, so they could pay for our damages. We are extremely disappointed in this company, since every company is supposed to have insurance to take care of accidents like these. read more

I was looking for a landscaper to do both a sprinkler system and sod installation. Called up con kel to schedule a site visit for a quote. "Private residential property." Day later the owner's son came by took few pictures and said his father would visit also. I stopped at the office to me the owner and he wasn't available I was told he wouldn't be able to get the job done in 2 weeks. I left and received a call from the office that they can definitely get the job done. The owner visited the next day looked at the site and started criticizing the property with an overall attitude answering any question with a sarcastic answer. He then started showing me pictures of his property and how good of a job he does. Took measurements gave some ideas and started bragging about how he can get sod down tomorrow or next week whenever I wanted. He promised to email me a quote the very next morning for sod and sprinkler system. Next day came and no email. One week went by no call or email. I called they took a message said would pass it on to him. Day went by went 2 went by no call or email. This company has horrible customer service and the owner is very rude and dishonest. They look pretty on the outside but what an asshole the owner really is. All he had to say was he was unable to get the job done @ this time. But good luck hiring this guy. read more
