This Walmart seems to be going through many changes. They relocated many items in the grocery…read moredepartment and challenged me to navigate my course through the maze. Actually, it seems to be an improvement and more customer friendly. They still keep the lemon juice and some baking items in shelving too high. No problems though since other people are always helpful when needed. I still don't prefer their produce department no matter what day or time I am there. The local farmers markets will be ending soon and I'll have to decide if their produce improves or shop down the street. I have become a fan of the Walmart Savings Catcher and it's been more useful than I imagined. Also, using the Walmart Pay App continues to collect receipts. Several times I've ordered groceries online from here and the procedure is even better than other stores locally that offer it. The employees that are part of the grocery pick up pack the groceries perfectly. I so like the Walmart grocery app. Another thing that I notice here is that the majority of the time there are no straggling carts left in the parking lot. Appreciate that a great cart person is always on hand and attentive.

Stopped at Chief's in Wauseon and was pleasantly surprised to see their deli counter stocked full…read moreof goodies. From sliced meats, many cheeses, to freshly made pasta salads and fruit salads, my cart started filling up. I had a couple subs made at the counter since my hubs prefers a different cheese on his. The woman behind the counter could not have been nicer to fulfil my request. I would not have asked if there had been others in line so hubs was lucky this trip. They also had ready to eat items, stuffed cabbage (as my family calls pigs in the blanket), ribs, mac and cheese. Oh, I almost forgot, egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad. For some reason going in Chief's feels like stopping by to see a family friend or something. Since this covid uncertainty it is always assuring to smell the fresh popped popcorn when entering, then the smell of fruits, baked chicken, bakery items to name but a few. I so believe they have yummy smell scents piped throughout the store. Their meats are above average and I am picky when it comes to meat. From presentation to prices, Chief's is the place to go. They are offering mobile shopping now, however I have not used it since we enjoy going in and shopping. All of their employees are helpful, safely wearing masks and I always see them sanitizing so it is a very safe, clean and proactive store.

This market is newer (still, been here for decades, I think.) Plenty of parking. Open reasonable hours (till 7 most days.) Good produce, good butcher, good bakery. Lots of interesting dry goods, much of it local and/or Amish. And, of course, their famous canned meats. Turkey, chicken, pork, beef. Low salt versions. Big cans and little ones. They'll last for years, so stock some in the cupboard, or your tornado box, or your bomb shelter. They'll can your meat, too (deer, etc.) Friendly service. Prices are pretty high, but it's quality stuff, and a lot of it you won't find anywhere else. I saw pickled quail eggs; never seen those before. Huge gummi butterflies that Baby K loves. And Hires root beer- I haven't seen that in a store in 20 years.

When assistance was requested, the associate who responded -- Robert, identifying himself as the "Up Front Coach" -- stated that although the set had been on sale, the sale "ended earlier that morning," and he refused to honor the price shown both in the store and online. When my husband pointed out that the sale signage remained posted and the Walmart.com price was still active, Robert stated that "Walmart does not honor its online pricing in-store." This directly contradicts Walmart's own corporate price-match policy, which states that stores will match the price of identical items advertised on Walmart.com. Please see the attached screenshots taken on the same day as this interaction. Beyond the inconvenience, this situation raises a more serious concern: If an item is advertised at one price online and on in-store signage, but scanned at a higher price at the register -- and leadership refuses to honor either advertised price -- this creates the appearance of non-compliant pricing practices. Whether intentional or due to lack of training, this is a significant issue that warrants immediate review. Customers should never encounter conflicting pricing information, particularly when a store leader provides inaccurate explanations of policy. The interaction itself was dismissive and unprofessional, but the larger issue is the breakdown in adherence to Walmart's own pricing and policy standards. My feelings on this place have changed dramatically over the past year. Every single delivery grocery order I've gotten in the past year has come with multiple expired items - not by a day or two, I'm talking milk and bread that are dated as best buy / eat by TWO FULL MONTHS PRIOR and rotten veg as well. On top of that, anything you get canned is completely bashed to hell which is HIGH RISK of botulism with how just insanely crushed and dented these things are. Otherwise they tend to just have nothing in stock and the employees seem incapable of choosing basic things to replace your items with if you order, say, "Made up chip brand 10oz" they will NOT think to replace it (even if you have substitutions ON for the item) with "Made up chip brand 9oz", instead you get nothing. The biggest problem truly is in the rotten and expired food though, especially because if you bother coming in to return/exchange it becomes even worse. Nearly EVERY SINGLE TIME I've ordered groceries from here in the past 12 months I've had to go in to the store to customer support and then spend OVER AN HOUR EACH TIME to simply get replacements with the same items. It is INSANE and the staff are completely delusional about their standing in life. I'm super polite and kind and don't even complain or groan about the issue, I smile and be nice, but they act like they are just 'above' doing anything for the customer, like you're asking the CEO to do it or something. These minimum wage high school dropouts really feel like it's okay to be a jerk when they can't even manage to replace "Milk" with "Milk" in under 90 minutes. It's disgusting. The non-grocery departments aren't any better. I've come here looking for some basic vehicle items I needed to replace (which walmart carries in all their stores, including this one) and asked one of the employees working near the service department for help finding the items only to be told they didn't care and it wasn't really their problem. Don't shop here, not in person and not online, unless there are some items that are absolutely unavailable everywhere else in town. The prices aren't even competitive anymore anyway, so there's really no reason to choose one of the most disliked chain companies when it comes to groceries in the country.
