There is also a Centro Español in Ybor. Nearby in West Tampa, a Sicilian Club opened in 1929. There was also a club for Afro-Cubans. The Sicilian Club building also remains standing and once housed a theater. Other similar cultural centers in Tampa are Centro Asturiana and Circulo Cubana. Centro Español building is part of the West Tampa Historic District that also includes a beautiful Carnegie Library on the site of a former cigar factory and the very striking Santaella cigar factory building. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MONEY HUNGRY SCHOOL! They make you tell them how you are going to pay before they accept you or not. A real school would NEVER ask that first. I have a BA and can tell you, I would highly recommend New Horizons to anyone who is thinking about getting a new career. I've been to a lot of schools in my years. But none hold a candle to New Horizons Tampa. The reason why I say this, during my time at NH. I've had some major life hardships from a car accident to major depression. And everyone at NH went beyond what any school should do. They are truly genuinely compassionate and caring but students. Not money. The instructors Devin Ogden, Robert Campbell, Matt Grimes were prepared, engaging and always approachable. Even the front desk Brianne Bradford & Jade Lea-Wellington. Have help beyond the scope of their jobs Especially Bobby Ceklic (General Manager) you wouldn't believe how he is always approachable. And on point getting things done. Even if I was thinking I wasn't that important, but he showed me that even I mattered. Madison Haltiwanger Thxs for always making sure we get all or labs, books, and extra help. The exray machine was outdated and terribly uncomfortable (I felt like my gums were being cut). The instructor had the compassion of a toenail, she told me I should get one quad deep cleaning and tooth pulled at same time so I wouldn't have to get more needles than I had to. I felt like they just wanted to save money on the anesthesia. I felt belittled because of my teeth health, I'm older and have bone loss, on disability and could not always afford dental care. I also felt that I ethnically didn't fit in. It seems to me the prices were way too high for students who are being educated to work on my mouth.
