Unfortunately the private colleges were way out of our budget. We thought that meant he was going to have to attend a secular School. God's timing is perfect and we were introduced to Grace College. There he will get the same academic credits and degree as Southeastern College for a fraction of the price. The class sizes are small so the kids get more attention which is great for him. They go to school 2 days a week and intern 2 days a week. Now he gets to not only study pastoral leadership but he also gets hands-on experience which will earn him credit as well.

As part of this process, we had to complete a shadow day and purchase a uniform, which felt like a significant investment of time and money. During the shadow day, my daughter even made a friend, which made the denial even more disappointing. To add to the confusion, the school sent a questionnaire to a former teacher without sharing what specific questions were being asked or what comments were made about my child. This lack of transparency is quite strange. I honestly doubt that there was actual availability from the start. It feels misleading for schools to tell parents there are openings only to deny them after they've gone through all the required steps. I initially thought this experience was just our experience, but after discussing it in a local FB group, I discovered that several other parents have faced similar frustrations. It's clear that there are significant improvements needed in communication and the admissions process. There were several other red flags looking back now, but this was the gist of our experience.

There is a menu for one week then switches to something else then goes back to the same as the first week for the third if that makes sense, nope. The food that is given is not very nutritious ("mixed cereal"- lucky charms and other cereals just mixed together or just a cereal bar or maybe some crackers and cheese for breakfast) the portion size are quite sparse too from what we saw from drop off in morning. Then given a hour by hour break down of general what suppose to be happening in class. We as our child if they did prescribed activity they would more time than not say no. An every day when we would pick up our child would be plopping front of tv screen and teachers would be cleaning up so what ever they say in on the schedule for after 5pm is incorrect the teachers wouldn't be cleaning up if would actually going to go back and do something. The teachers communication was horrible would just post things on door or a wall and just Lt expect the parents to see it. The school doesn't involve the parents no parents teacher review few if any way for parents to be involved. Say they post pictures or thing to their Facebook page and rarely sow any there and or don't remember ever signing a consent form for our child's pictures to but posted up. Would not recommend.

My son was left to cry in the corner for months because the teacher couldn't be bothered to bond with him or show him kindness. He lost almost a year of learning because he learned NOTHING there. As soon as he switched schools my son blossomed and went from struggling with letter recognition to reading in less than six months. Teachers are everything! And the teachers at Montessori all look depressed to be there. I have a degree in education and that's why I gravitated towards a Montessori program but this is as fake as it gets. Yes they have the right set up but again, without the right teachers it's a failing situation.

She said they were short-staffed and her staff was "on breaks," so they couldn't accept my daughter--despite the fact that she was fully enrolled. To make matters worse, they require full payment for the month upfront. I paid over $1,100 and was left with no childcare and no refund. When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told she was out of town for a wedding and unavailable. I insisted, and eventually spoke with Heema, a 27-year-old who is listed as the owner. Unfortunately, Heema offered no real resolution--because it's clear Ashlee is the one truly running the center, and she's doing so with an appalling lack of professionalism, empathy, and accountability. This experience has been incredibly stressful for our family. I would strongly caution any parent considering this location. Reliable care and respectful communication should be the minimum standard--this place fails on both.
