Kyle came over to repair our garage door within an hour of my call…read more He fixed the problem (replaced a spring) and then spent some time checking out both doors, lubricating the rails and even replaced the bulbs in the opener unit. He did a great job, and what impressed me the most was his professionalism and pride in what he did. I cannot recommend his service too highly!!

We highly recommend Great Bear Renewable Energy - if you are like us and have no clue about pellet stoves, or where to start, do yourself a favor and have them visit you for an in-home consultation. Great Bear explains everything, welcomes your questions and really strives to make the entire process as smooth as possible. I changed my mind a couple of times about a couple of things and they were very accomodating. From start to finish, the entire buying, installation and use has been a breeze! The prices are not only fair, they are affordable and they really are willing to work with you to get the best stove in your home within your budget.

So - my partner and I wanted to install a pellet stove or wood stove in our house. We initially…read morethought pellet and shopped around for those, then we decided wood. My partner put an ad on CL to see what was out there and was contacted by Jim, of Great Bear Renewable Energy. Jim said that he had a reconditioned wood stove that was still under warranty and he could do a full install that would meet all requirements and sell us a mantle for the new stove. We were completely happy with his price, bought the stove, sight unseen, where going to buy a mantle from him. We built a new hearth, had the fireplace cleaned, scheduled his inspection visit and we gave him a 50% deposit on the spot. He scheduled one install day and then had to reschedule. We confirmed the new date and checked in to confirm it again as it got closer (because we are facing November now and had already had one date go bad). He seemed like a nice enough guy when he came for the inspection and we were really excited about the stove. Out of the blue we get a check for a full refund of the stove with no explanation whatsoever. We call/email and ask why and get a message that my partner is a 'details guy' and so Jim doesn't think we'd be a 'good fit.' WHAT?!? If by "details guy" he means - we pay for a service, on time, as requested, and so we like to know that we are going to receive the service as promised - then, yes, he is a 'details guy'. When did this become a bad thing? We didn't hold back payment, we didn't demand to see the stove in person before we bought it, he is the one who replied to our query on CL - and then he rejects our business with a thoroughly questionable excuse? Can't recommend anyone do business with this Great Bear Renewable Energy. Now we are facing November, no wood stove and no chance of getting a good price on one until next summer when the winter season is over. Thanks for nothing.
