The gaping maw of the thing that is Compoo Bee

They are kind of clueless here. I came in two months ago and spoke to a "knowledgable" fellow about iPhones. He said, "No we do not carry those at the moment but we will be soon. Probably in two months, if you come back." So fine, I came back two months later. Here I am, standing in the middle of the shop next to a 1 meter tall poster advertising "The NEW iPhone 4S". A girl walked up to me and said, "Are you all right?" I said, "Hi, do you sell the iPhone 4S?" "NO. We don't sell that. We're never going to sell that," she replied rather curtly. Seriously, I'm standing next to a giant poster urging me to buy the iPhone and here they are saying they will never carry that. I said, "I was in two months ago and a clerk told me you'd have them in stock in 2 months." She looked at me with a pedantic stare, as if I were a 4 year old who needed something simple explained. "We're not a PHONE store. If you want a phone, you'll have to go to a PHONE store. We don't have the facilities to repair them so we're never going to sell them." The response was a little more rude than I expected, especially since I was willing to hand over 500 euro to this shop. There are so many other places in town that sell Apple products. Try: D.I.D Electrical, Arnott's or PC World to name a few.

Basically, this shop is mediocre. Talking about staff knowledge. In other words, if you are IT "person" and know few things about computers and their software and hardware, then you won't find much help here. Only frustration, unless you're super patient person, which I hope you are ;p If you are simple person not interested in gadgets and computing, you'll be pleasantly served as staff are nice, just their knowledge is mediocre or less than then, but you won't notice that and will think that staff knows everything. Staff rotation (I believe) is quite often, maybe that's why you hardly find great staff with great knowledge base. ---- Went to buy smart cover. I says: "give me read plastic one", "sorry, we don't have them...", but it appears to be dozen of them in the shelf. What a hell, boy!? Oh, I'm sorry, it probably was your first hour on the floor... Put a DON'T SPEAK TO ME label on your forehead. Forgot to say, please :) Almost every time in that shop I get some stupid unprofessional experience. Even when called to check, if they have smart covers for new iPad Air. They said they have (I asked for color red) three of them, but wait, there are two types - plastic and leather (€39 and €79). So, again, unprofessional service.

Meh, ok it has the finish of an Apple Store but it's not... Let's all remember that plus it shows, popped in for an airport express, asked assistant who was nearby a display of them (they were under lock and key) he just replied, grab one at the till & pointing around to the till area... Ok, cheers for your help. Stood at till area and only 1 person serving who was going through 101 Q's with person buying a Mac so accessories, insurance, etc... Jezz, can someone just serve me! Finally assistant from earlier, re appears and said here's your airport, before I knew it he dropped it on the floor and just looked at me, before I knew it I'm down picking it up... How did this happen, he half heartedly passed it to me, let it drop and I'm left scrabbling on the floor! Considering I knew exactly what I wanted, didn't flaff around... It took me 15mins to get served and finally leave.

They had transparent window behind main counter, you could see technicians actually do work and they were all highly qualified and very well run business. At that time they were the only place to be able to fix my MSI gaming laptop. Recently i went there to fix my different Lenovo Legion gaming laptop (overheating issues). They asked for nonrefundable €70. And that is fine as i was sure they be able to fix it. I had issues with laptop sometimes turning on and sometimes not turning on. Hard reset with power button helped it to turn on sometimes. Anyway after their so called diagnostics they told me this laptop is totally fried and will not be able to work again. Apparently GPU was damaged beyond repair and needed new motherboard I was very confused as I was sure it was not the case. I had it turn on and work just day prior without any issues and thermals were fine with NVIDIA GPU performing to the fullest without any frame drops or anything. Came back home and saw that my battery was not working. I had no problem with battery, so i opened the back and saw they didn't connect the connector of the battery to the main board. I connected it back. Then i realized they used electric screwdriver to screw back the main thermal cover, which is big no no. I was not even able to unscrew the screws because they were so tightly screwed back (broke tip of a screw). I called them and asked them why they used screwed the thermal cover so tight. They said they did it so that maybe connection of pins between GPU and motherboard can fix problem. I was shocked. everyone knows that thermal cover should be gently screwed back with correct order of the screws with few turns every time ( my case 1-6). And they said technician maybe just forgot to plug back the battery to motherboard. Oh and by the way, after i plugged back laptop, it worked again, it turned on. I am not saying it is totally working now, but their assessment of this laptop never be able work again and i need new motherboard was false. Anyway, i blame the ownership of this place for hiring bunch of college kids who are not familiar and are not battle tested to do tasks which are more complicated. They probably did not wanted pay extra for their more skilled technicians and they left the company so they hired young college graduates who probably just use ChatGPT to fix an issue with laptop. Would not recommend

After they repair your electronics, they'll take the broken pieces and use them to decorate the shop. I'm only joking. Overall, really friendly place and they get the job done fast! I will go back for any other computer problem that I have!

They also didn't keep me updated about what was happening with my order when it got delayed. This resulted in me making two unnecessary journeys to the shop which could have been prevented by a quick phone call or text to let me know there was no need to come in. All three times that I went to the shop, even though there wasn't anyone else ahead of me I was left standing there in suspense for roughly half an hour before they were able to fully explain what was going on with the order. Again, lack of communication. Overall, they just didn't seem that pushed about doing the job and were not businesslike. I eventually gave up when they failed to ring me back again. The guy on the phone was friendly and helpful. I wanted to see how the phone worked for awhile after repair. And about a month later it has been great and the battery is like new. The only odd thing that happened in the first few days after repair was that the screen wouldn't respond to touch. The volume, lock and home button worked but the screen was on and wouldn't respond to touch. A few weeks later, the screen shattered from a fall of less than a meter - onto a wooden floor - with a protective case on. I returned and was charged another €200 for a second replacement. This time, they added a screen protector - something they should have done in the first place. Not long after, a blue inky patch appeared on the top left of the screen and gradually spread, making the phone completely unusable. Crucially, the phone had not been dropped, hit, or damaged in any way after the second repair. When I went back, they made me wait over an hour while the phone was supposedly being "assessed" (it just sat untouched on a desk). Eventually, I was told I'd need another new screen--and that it wasn't their fault after spending EU550 with them on two screens. Ended up getting it fixed properly by another provider for €150. Bottom line: Terrible customer service, poor-quality parts, and you'll find better prices and reliability elsewhere. Avoid ExpressTech at all costs.
