My experience with North Florida Women's Care was extremely disappointing and honestly felt more like pressure than care. At 36 weeks pregnant, I was already being asked repeated of times for cervical checks and told they were "very necessary," when in reality, many women are told these are optional unless there's a clear medical reason. Instead of being given balanced information, I felt like my choices were being dismissed.do your research people care about you and your baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What really crossed the line for me was how early and aggressively C-sections were being brought up. At only 36 weeks, I had multiple conversations that felt like they were steering me in that direction without any urgent medical need. That didn't feel like preparation--it felt like unnecessary escalation. I specifically had issues with both Liann Ammar, MD and Karen Harris, MD, MPH. Dr. Harris in particular came across as very pushy about the idea of a C-section before we were even close to that point, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like I was being managed and directed. Another major problem is the complete lack of consistency. Every single appointment, I saw a different doctor. There was no continuity of care, no real relationship, and no sense that anyone truly understood my pregnancy or preferences. It felt impersonal and disorganized. Between the inconsistency, the pressure around procedures, and what I experienced as a lack of transparency, I made the decision to leave and go elsewhere for my care. This is my personal experience, but I strongly encourage anyone considering this practice to do their own research and advocate for themselves. Don't just accept everything at face value--ask questions about interventions like Pitocin, epidurals, and C-sections so you understand the risks, benefits, and alternatives. For example, Pitocin can intensify contractions significantly, which can make labor feel much more intense than natural progression. Epidurals can be helpful for pain, but they also come with trade-offs that should be clearly explained so you can make an informed choice that's right for you. At the end of the day, you deserve to feel heard, respected, and fully informed during your pregnancy--not pressured or rushed into decisions. Based on my experience, I would not recommend North Florida Women's Care. Then I went to a woman's birthing center in Ocala that doesn't shove epidurals or C-sections or anything of the such in your face and I had my baby there. They did a wonderful job they take care of you like family. I highly recommend them to anybody that's looking for someone that's gonna care for you and your baby that's gonna keep up with you and your I just want the best for you and your New born baby!!!! read more

A wonderful experience! Dr. Gureasko was incredibly gentle and informative. I had a Paraguard copper IUD insertion done and it went smoother than I could have imagined. She is clearly very experienced and intentional. All the CWH staff were kind and communicative. Very thankful for our experience! read more

All I need was my biannual Medicare pap smear, pelvic and breast exam. I called the office months ago and gave them my insurance and made an appointment for a Monday at 9:10 am. They sent me three different requests to confirm my appointment which I did. They sent me two different sets of paperwork to fill out, which I did. At 7:40 pm on Saturday night Ai sent me an email that the cost to me would be $500. Hoo boy, couldn't cancel because they were closed for the weekend and yet they still plan on charging me a late fee for canceling 24 hours in advance. Nice work if you can get it. I feel very much lied to and am not even sure that their explanation was valid. For some reason they were trying to charge me for an annual wellness visit. I am fairly certain they were not planning on managing my thyroid issues, cholesterol or sugar levels or request any blood work. They have been pushing their imaging services, though I have never used them and have absolutely no intention of changing from Solis. They don't round you up like cattle. read more

Had an appointment this morning at 8:50am. Their office opens at 8am and I started my period the night before, so I wanted to be sure I could still attend my appointment. I called twice, no human to speak to. Went on the portal and at 8:04 sent a message. I'm at their building at 8:52 and my phone rings: it's the receptionist regarding my message I left them. I stand outside to talk to her because you lose Reception in the elevators at this office. We discussed the situation, talked about rescheduling and I asked since I am here, can I at least talk to the doctor about a couple other things. She let me know that I'm late for my appointment time now and cannot be seen. I immediately went upstairs to the office and showed my face. I was there the entire time. I was also concerned about being charged for a late or no show appt fee when I was right there. After asking to see the dr because it was my appt time right then, I was told to wait. During this time, another patient walks in and has her own issue with the staff at this office. Similar issues: scheduling, poor communication and follow through. I sat there until almost 9:40 when I received a call...yes, a call from the office manager. She wouldn't come out to speak with me. I'm in the reception office! She tried to tell me they couldn't see me again until September. Save yourself from this clinic and this office!!! Go somewhere else!!! When I was leaving another lady spoke up and said the staff here was awful but they had no choice but to Keep their appts because they waited so long for one. This is sad. Please take the time to go somewhere else. I'm viewing this as a blessing In disguise so I may been seen by real professionals and not this disaster of inept people in this office. read more

You never get to speak to a person when calling. Takes them forever to return calls. I've been waiting for a month for my colposcopy results. I call, leave a message, and get call back days later to tell me the results are in but the doctor still has not had a chance to review them. Why? She's had the results for weeks but cannot review and return a call to her patient? So frustrating and nerve wracking. read more

My name is Shantell Hadley. I am the mother of Kaydence Brielle Taylor, a born angel, on 02/24/2021. My daughter's death was not by accident but caused by the negligence of my OB, Dr. Eduardo Marichal, Admitting Physician Dr. Juline Deen, Comprehensive Women's Health Practice, and North Florida Regional Medical Center. I have a lot of unanswered questions. I picked up my daughter's birth certificate and death certificate to learn that she was alive for three hours and the cause of death listed was prematurity and sepsis. However, Dr. Marichal, Dr. Deen, Dr. Walsh, and Dr. Brazzel, the doctors from CWH- Comprehensive Women's Health who rounded on me, did not tell me this. Each doctor gave me different answers for the possible cause of death. It pains me to learn this after receiving my daughter's death certificate, that her cause of death was sepsis, but no one told me this in the hospital. She remained in the room with me throughout my stay, but no one said anything as I kissed her, bathed her, and held her. Although I am grateful for the time I had with her, I should've known these things. To later learn that I was released from the hospital with an untreated infection, I later returned to the hospital and was admitted because I was septic. These were overlooked things, and every doctor and nurse who cared for my daughter and me should be held accountable for their negligence. I lost my daughter and nearly lost my life. I believe racial prejudices factored into the overall care I received throughout my pregnancy and continued to receive. I encountered over 20 staff at NFRMC who repeatedly asked me how the baby is to have to repeatedly say my daughter did not make it or did not survive the birth. It was not until 03/09/2021 that I began to sleep. However, I still wake up in tears or cry myself to sleep. I am 31 years of age in perfect health with no pre-existing health conditions to give some background on me. Kaydence was my first child. I do not have other kids. I believed that Kaydence would be my only child. I worked for the University of Florida's College of Public Health and Health Professions Dean's Office in the Finance Department as a Fiscal Assistant III. I have a Bachelor's in Organizational Management and MBA-Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit. However, I was treated like an uneducated, uninsured, or underinsured patient. Dr. Marichal made a habit to tell me that I am young and I will have more kids. He also said he was unsure what was the actual cause of death as there were so many factors. When I came to see him for my hospital follow-up he disregarded my complaints of discomfort around my C-section which later resulted in a four day hospitalization to treat me for septic shock. He called me another patients name and asked me how the baby was doing? I was mortified as it had only been five days since my daughters death. Please diligently do your research before choosing CWH or Dr. Marichal. He came highly recommended however, he did not meet the expectations. He has also caused injury to a baby before which resulted in a lawsuit in favor of the patient. read more

I waited almost a year for my annual appt and being a brand new patient you would think they would be on top of things to make you feel comfortable and build that trust, but they canceled my appt because Dr. Juline Deen puts meetings before patients even though I've waited so long for this, I couldn't change my appt to a different day because that's the only day I have someone to sit at home with my elderly mother and they didn't care. After reading these other comments I'm so glad I'm not going there! I highly recommend anywhere else but here! read more

There have been some comments about rude front desk staff but I just spoke with Margie to set up as a new patient, and she could not have been nicer or more helpful. I'll leave another review after my visit but so far 5 of 5 . Thanks Margie for making me feel welcome to FL and to this practice. read more

Terrible experiences We had our first baby with them and received little care as the visits were short and rushed. They pushed medication on me even though I repeatedly told them I would not take medicine during my pregnancy. The doctor was not there for my scheduled induction because she was off and didn't show up for my entire stay I. The hospital. Furthermore, now that I'm pregnant with my second 8 months layers, the birthing center has been converted to a GYN center and my previous doctor only works there now, so I have no option for her or the birthing center which was a major selling point before COVID. My first appointment I did not even meet my new doctor, they only confirmed the medical history that I gave the previous year, nothing had changed and it all fouldve been done on the phone- this center is 90 minutes from my house and my I can't counts as a visitor so I need a babysitter because I'm legally blind and can't drive or see their paperwork so I need my husband. Not to mention husbands should be allowed in EVERY appointment, as it takes two to make a baby. No COVID excise period. So this appointment for my ultrasound, our babysitter cancelled and I requested my husband and baby be allowed in for the first ultrasound! They eventually agreed but then failed to finish checking us in, the entire waiting cleared out of people here before us, many people Came and left after us and we were not called for an hour. We walked out and will never return to this disrespectful, call ice establishment. read more

I needed a new GYN after moving to Gainesville. I was having some IUD issues and I felt like my old GYN wasn't helpful or cared about my concerns. After moving I decided to find a new doctor. After searching for days online I came across Dr. sheyna carroccio! Long story short she helped me solve my IUD problems. I literally love her so much! She's so down to earth and comforting. She listens and doesn't rush you off and actually explains things in a way you'll understand. I look forward to seeing/talking with her at every appointment. If you're on the look out for a new OBGYN see Dr. Carroccio! She's amazing!!!!! The front desk staff could use some improvement. Their friendliness and attitudes definitely don't match the doctors/nurses in the back. They seemed to be bothered when you check in/check out and don't seem to be very informed in the insurance co pays/etc. read more

My wife and I had two appointments today at this spot we spent well over $3000 last year having our baby and our doctor wasn't even there when we deliver nor was she even there to be contacted at any point and she change professions afterwards. so we gave them a second chance We picked a new doctor my legally blind wife and I went in and were told that it was OK that I was there with her and our baby even though there's a one visitor policy we sat there for 45 minutes were never helped never seen never checked in and walked out completely disappointing saying we would go anywhere else and even pay money rather than having it done here free. read more

This place is great!!! Amazing nurses and doctors. I have severe anxiety and everyone here has been welcoming and put me at ease. They follow up with you, and take care of everything in a timely manner. I love them so much, almost my whole office (mostly female) is seen there now. You won't be disappointed!! read more

HORRIBLE experience here. I accompanied my sister here after she began to experience miscarriage symptoms. The office staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. You have to play a long game of phone tag before even getting them to schedule you an appointment. The physician we saw lacked bedside manner and clearly didn't even read the chart before coming into the exam room, as he started talking about what my sister could expect throughout this pregnancy and when her next appointments would be, only making her feel even worse knowing that was not what she would get to experience. To top it off, they prescribed her a medication to help her body expel the fetus and did not give her any pain medication, leaving her in excruciating pain with labor like contractions while going through the worst experience of her life. I work in healthcare myself and have never heard of a pain medication not being prescribed with this type of medication due to the fact that it does cause you a great deal of pain. A miscarriage is already a traumatizing, heart breaking situation to go through and this office only made it a million times worse on my sister. Ladies, please do not go here. read more

I had the best prenatal and birthing experience with Dr. Botha. After having a poor experience with another hospital/ doctor in town, I was very anxious with this pregnancy. I felt so comfortable as soon as I met Dr. Botha and was so thankful for her calm, caring demeanor throughout my prenatal care. My labor and delivery was very smooth and my recovery has been a night and day difference compared to the first time around. Words cannot express how thankful I am to have been surrounded by such a wonderful doctor and team of nurses while bringing a new baby into the world! read more

Liz, who isn't even regularly my doctor's nurse, was absolutely amazing. I got some scary news one week before I was moving across the country and losing my current health insurance, and everyone else I called said there was no way to get an appointment before I left. Liz went out of her way to push my paperwork through and call my insurance company and get me an MRI within days and gave me a way to reach her if I needed more help and followed up so I could have the results before I left. She was so communicative and understanding and explained things so well; she was so genuine, funny, efficient, and kind, which is everything you would want in a medical professional especially when you get bad news. Thank you so much for moving mountains, Liz. I greatly appreciate it. read more

Dr. Million has been my ob-gyn for the past 14 years. She has been there through our struggles with infertility, three pregnancies (one delivery via emergency c-section), and everything in between. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. She has an amazing bedside manner, is extremely knowledgable and up to date on the latest science and studies, and I trust her implicitly. I have recommended her to several friends and family members who all love her as well. As for the office - everyone has always been extremely nice and helpful. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment or being seen. I have seen Dr. Marichal a few times over the years as well and would not hesitate to recommend him either. Overall, you can't go wrong with this practice. read more
