I am a chronic relapser as I've struggled continually throughout my life with pain medication addiction. I've had many accidents and surgeries that led doctors to prescribing me heavy dose oxycodone and methadone. It felt like something I would never get out of and I had legitimately given up hope that I'd ever love pain med free. I'm always a big skeptic when it comes to treatment centers as I've been to many over the years but they really went above and beyond to ensure I had a comfortable experience, from the detox process to all phases of treatment. I felt I received the individualized care that I needed and wasn't just treated as a number filling a bed. They've also done a great job at staying in touch just enough afterwards to remind me of where I was and that I can continue this path of sobriety in or out of treatment. I would recommend a friend or family member here !

They were deception and called my husband back home and told him that I could not continue treatment unless he sent $4,000 immediately. I had excellent insurance which would pay 85% of my bill and I would pay 15%. We should have never been directly contacted to pay anything. It should have gone to our insurance and they would pay 85% of the bill and I would pay the remaining 15%. Our insurance was not notified by BeachesTreatment Center about about my husband paying the $4000 so I still ended up paying 15% of my total bill. Beaches Treatment did not deduct the $4,000 from what I owed them. Also, when they took the patients out for a movie at a local theater, we all had to wear Tee Shirts with Beaches Treatment Center printed on them in bold letters. It was embarrassing and I suspect a HIPA violation. They would only allow me to speak to my family on speaker phone with their representatives listening to both sides of our conversation. I was treated like a captive. I can only say that the therapists did try to do a good job with the clients, but everything else was a horrible nightmare.

I wish I can recall who told me about VIP care management, but I had to take a moment and tell you how they came to the rescue. From the very first phone call I made, I was completely reassured from the beginning that I was in good hands. And even today, I still feel like I am as I might have a question from time to time and I can always rely on this firm to guide me in the right direction. VIP care management was able to handle all that was required to get the Medicaid application process as painless as possible. They provided ample information as to what they needed, and I simply scanned and emailed everything to them and before I knew it, my Mom got accepted by Medicaid. They even referred me to an excellent edler care attorney that helped in the process of getting my mom eligible where I had thought it might not be possible. All of the staff were great, and especially Randi who I can say was like family when we spoke. Best thing I every did for my Mom and for myself! Do yourself a favor. Call them and see for yourself.

I'm a parent who had a son there. I have a lot of experience dealing with programs. This is one of…read morethe few good legitimate programs in Florida. My son has been to over 20 programs. (Not Uncommon these days) When he first got there he told me how nice the place was. Coming from my son that's good. He's like the Siskel and Ebert of program reviewers lol. He spent three weeks in their PHP program and then transistioned to the halfway house, He had a slip. Randy (Director) and Chris (works there) did everything in their power to get him back in detox. It was a monumental task but they did it. They communicated with me even in their off hours. They went above and beyond and didn't have to do that, but they did. I can't thank them enough for what they did. This place and staff is not about the money. They're about actually helping people with their addiction and getting them on the road to recovery. While my son was there PBR is very activity based. They did a lot with him from rope climbing to snorkeling, horseback riding to name a few. They're heavily meeting based. This is important because once you leave a program you MUST attend a 12 step program. They're 100% legitimate on insurance and billing. But if your insurance runs out they don't throw you to the gutter. They will do everything in their power to keep you in their program and if they can't for some reason they will make sure that your in another or a safe place. They're good people with good hearts ! When my son completes detox he's going back there. (I Hope) While he was at Palm Beach Recovery he looked and sounded the best he has in a long time. I had my son back. If your thinking about sending a loved one there all I can say from my experience is do it ! Will my son get better and recover ? No one knows. A person has to want to do it and be sick and tired of being sick and tired. Many people do recover. Some die. Some live a long time causing themselves grief and those around them grief. But if you want to give someone a really good shot, this is the place. Thanks again for everything you've done, and are trying to do !

This is for the Vi at Lakeside Rehab Center…read more Last year my mother went to V and it was a good experience. Of course last year she only had a broken hip so it was straightforward home in 6 weeks. I even wrote a glowing letter at how wonderful the people were, the food was great and my only complaint really was that they didn't answer the Bells during meal times. This time was the most horrible experience ever. I was stunned to see how much the care had fallen in one year. The food was horrible, the administration is worse than horrible and my mother, who could walk up and down stairs, walk 120 ft round trip to go to the bathroom, get herself to bed and up in the morning and could shower herself had to be brought home on a stretcher. Now 10 days later she still can't walk. Why, because when she got there she had gout and the doctor and PA refused to treat it. At first I thought they didn't believe her and they absolutely refused to call me to get my mother's medical history with gout. I had to go over their heads to her rheumatologist in order to get her started on a Medrol pack which is prednisone. By then we were 9 days in with no treatment and the Medrol pack only worked while she was taking the prednisone. I fired the doctor and PA . The second PA knew right away that it was gout and ordered a second round of prednisone . Again while she was on the prednisone she started to walk again but as soon as she was off the medication she was in serious trouble again. I contend that had they treated the gout initially and not waited so long she would not have had to be on oxygen , she would not have had to endure that pain , she would not have had to be confined to bed. They simply did not care. Because she was confined to bed, she was left in her own stool for hours resulting in her first raging UTI. In addition to that they screwed around with her Carvedilol calling it a "hold parameter" which many facilities do. However what they were doing was having her miss entire doses because they didn't know what they were doing. That's dangerous. They were supposed to take her blood pressure and if the systolic was under a hundred they were supposed to hold the dose. They were supposed to come back and do her blood pressure again until it was over the hundred mark systolic and then give her the Carvedilol. I actually had an LPN ask me if she should give my mother the Carvedilol. Don't you think she should have known what a whole parameter was? And when I found this out and questioned it they suddenly came back in to take the blood pressure several times until they could give her the meds. I was Furious. Because they didn't treat the gout she got fluid on her lungs and had to be on oxygen and Lasix. To add insult to injury she ended up with yet another raging UTI from being left in her own stool for hours. She ended up being isolated and given an IV antibiotic. We were told everyone that walked into the room needed to be wearing a gown , gloves , a mask . No one did this . Not the director of nursing, the assistant director of nursing, the aids, the maintenance guys, or housekeeping. In fact after isolating her they took her out of the room to go weigh her . So why was she isolated? Let's add one more thing. She started to get a precious sore on her tailbone. The wound person walked in the door didn't get anywhere near my mother and said just give her the pink stuff she'll be fine. Then they sent in they're dermatologist and he said it was just flaking skin. She had to wait till she got home for me to clear that up. Certainly sitting in your own waist will break your skin down but no one seemed to care. This stay at V was torturous. They sent an able-bodied woman home on a stretcher because of their incompetence. Never ever again will my mother go to Vi. It was a horrible horrible experience and my mother has still not recovered from that incompetence.
