We first hired him back when he was known as "Steve Beam Handyman," and it's been amazing to see him grow and expand his services with the launch of Denver Remodels Inc. Over the years, Steve and his team have tackled everything from small repairs (like anchoring heavy drapery hardware into our finicky plaster walls) to major renovations (like restoring the exterior of our 1908 Craftsman). One of our favorite projects was transforming our mudroom by removing a wall and building a custom breakfast nook. This was a complex project, but Steve's expertise and creativity shone through. He even suggested a design element in the booth walls that perfectly complemented the Craftsman lines of our home - it's those little details that make a huge difference. What we think truly sets Steve apart is his incredible craftsmanship, creativity, and his consultative approach. He takes the time to truly understand your vision and offers expert guidance throughout the design process. Whether you're tackling a small project or a major renovation, Steve's deep knowledge and experience are on display with every project he does. He's always there to answer questions, offer suggestions, and steer you in the right direction, ensuring that the final result is even better than you imagined. His team is equally fantastic - professional, efficient, and incredibly skilled. If you're looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and truly exceptional remodeling experience in Denver, look no further than Steve Beam and Denver Remodels Inc. They're a standout and I'm so glad we found them.

The work took longer than we initially estimated, but Steve communicated with us throughout and was responsive to questions/requests. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Over the years, the plants and shrubs required a great deal of trimming and maintenance, yet they still outgrew their locations. Highland came in and removed all the overgrown shrubs and replace our entire 30 year old, 12-zone sprinkler system. Highland installed a high quality Rain Bird system with three manifolds beautifully built and professionally wired with waterproof wire nuts. The quality and attention to detail is second to none. Highland partners with a local nursery that has an exceptional selection of high quality bushes, trees, shrubs and perennials. We were able to select exactly what we were looking for with their guidance. Highland utilizes software capable of creating 3D renderings of the landscape with the plants we selected at full maturity to ensure that we were getting the curb appeal we envisioned. Highland doesn't hesitate to devote a large crew to a landscaping project when its required. Every Highland employee that we interfaced with was courteous and respectful. Once the plants were delivered, they planted with the same care and attention to detail. They ran two driplines to every plant and ensured that the right size emitters were used based on the plants water needs. Highland has skilled craftsmen that take pride in their work. They go above and beyond to ensure that you are pleased with the final result. We had a particularly challenging area, that we were not sure how to address. Highland came up with a unique solution that they implemented beautifully. From the beginning of a project, Highland listened to our concerns and goals. Their proposal was very detailed and addressed all of our desires. As with any landscaping project, there were additions and changes along the way. Through out the process, there was always open communication about any additional costs and the final billing was clear and transparent with no surprises. We could not be happier with the results. We would highly recommend them once again. Positives: Communicative, dependable, knowledgeable, caring, they take pride in their workmanship, and they stand behind what they promise. They adhere to codes and standards and homeowner safety is their highest priority. Services: Landscaping and planting, irrigation system, sod and masonry work.

I never thought replacing our deck would actually change how we lived, but it has! Our old deck was falling apart, and while we used it, it was definitely an eyesore for us. Ever since we built our new deck, my family has eaten outside on it almost every evening we have been home. We go out on it many mornings and evenings now. We absolutely love it! It has brought our family together. We spend more time with one another and more time outside. I understand it now; it truly changed how we live! Scott had so many great suggestions to improve our deck, and we are glad we chose to work with Griffin Decks & Covers! They loved our deck so much that they asked us if they could have it professionally photographed for their portfolio. These pictures are the result. Our family is so grateful we worked with Griffin Decks & Covers. Our new deck is amazing, the pictures speak for themselves!

We had…read morecompleted a beautiful high end kitchen remodel and the crowning jewel was to be the metal and glass cabinet doors that our architect had drawn in. However, the company she had used in the past wouldn't call me back. I found MetalArc using Google. And I'm beyond happy I did. First, their commitment to their craft is top notch. They will work diligently to get the project right. The level of refinement that we were looking for with these doors was not a hurdle they shied away from but rather they accepted the challenge and worked side by side with me to get it exactly right. The finished product is stunning, we couldn't be happier. Second, David's level of communication is a rarity. He is such a well spoken, clear and eloquent communicator. It is a lost art in today's day and age. I was impressed time and time again with his clarity and thoughtfulness in every conversation and email. This was truly a "project" that required communication and collaboration and he impressed me time and time again. Third, he is a good man whose primary goal was not only meeting but exceeding expectations. On top of being an expert in his craft, he has mastered being a good person. I can't say enough good things about him (and his brother, Joseph!). Thank you we will continue to sing your praises.

Most railing companies said that they couldn't do it. MetalArc was one of the few willing to accept the challenge and the unknowns that came with it. They worked hard to understand my vision and priorities. I am very particular in what I want and don't want. They respected that and were not put off by it. They are very, very kind people. The project gave them challenges beyond their expectations, but they were patient and stuck with it each time. I am thrilled with the final result. On my end, there were a few challenges as well. I had to be extremely patient with the schedule. The project was bid at a flat rate, however, they increased it when they had a better understanding of the project. This was after I was already committed and had made a large deposit. I was frustrated by that because I thought the project was clear from the beginning since I had a picture of what I wanted to replicate. The payment installments were confusing and, as things took longer, they added new installments. I had to be firm that the final installment would be paid when the project was done. They had a few employees turnover which directly impacted my project. All but one did great work; but the one caused some major hiccups as did the transitions in general. We finished the project as a team. The results are beautiful. We are on good terms. We are planning to work together again, thankfully on a much more straightforward project!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAWTOOTH CONSTRUCTION FOR ANY PROJECT YOU MAY BE CONSIDERING. The owner, Mike…read moreWilkins, and his team ruined brand new cabinetry and then refused to properly fix their mistake, demonstrating a severe lack of accountability and professionalism. The Critical Failure: Ruined Cabinets The final stage of my kitchen remodel involved installing cabinet pulls. The crew incorrectly drilled 14 cabinet doors and drawer fronts, with holes being ¾ of an inch to 1 ¼ of an inch off-center in some cases. This is basic incompetence that ruined brand new materials. Basic carpentry guidelines would state "measure twice and drill once". Sawtooth doesn't appear to have learned these basic concepts. (see attached Pictures) The Owner's Unacceptable Response When I requested new replacement fronts--which cost only $700 from the cabinet maker (Tharp Cabinets)--owner Mike Wilkeins called to dismiss the error as "not that big of a deal," claiming mistakes are "common in the construction business." He refused to pay the $700 for replacements for the new door and drawer fronts that were improperly drilled by Sawthooth employees and would only offer a patch/repair job that I was concerned would fail over time. It was obvious that Mike looks to compare his business to the industry poor standards, rather than to provide above standard quality and outcomes. Which he claims is a priority on their website. (see attached pic) Accountability ZERO When I declined his patch offer and demanded the $700 for new fronts, Sawtooth Construction sent an email stating that because I wouldn't allow them to "try to fix" the panels, I had waived all my rights and they had no further obligation. They chose to abandon the customer and refuse to pay $700 to correct a huge mistake made by their own crew. (see attached Pictures of Sawtooth email and my reply) In their email they state that their company policy mandates they are given the opportunity to repair any damages. Well, I never received any copy of such Policy (I have requested this several times since they stated this in the email back to me and have yet to see it) and being that this is a small business they are using this so-called policy to hide behind and not take care of their poor-quality work. Their contract or website has no such written policies or any Terms and Conditions that I signed for and acknowledged. Other Issues Initial red flags included Mike's lack of preparation (I didn't see him take any notes during initial meetings, so we needed multiple quote revisions to get it correct). For the pre-start walk through he didn't seem like he reviewed his own contract to fully understand the work he was hired to do. During the work phase, he also tried to back out of contracted part of the job: where he was to move a floor air/heat vent to be located in the toe kick area of the new island cabinets being installed, he claimed he was not to actually move the duct work down in the unfinished base, this forced me to hire my own HVAC professional to complete this work and keep him on time. We ended up splitting this cost but I shouldn't have ever had to do this since it was clearly stated in the original contract and paid for by me. I also had to manage his work phases and repeatedly send text messages to confirm their work schedules. Then there is a toe kick plate that was not installed on one cabinet, and a ladder was left for over 30 days after completing or better stated, stopping work. Final Verdict: Mike Wilkeins is horrible at having open and timely communication (often ignoring many texts or having days go by with no replies) and refuses to take responsibility for major errors caused by his team's incompetency's. Avoid Sawtooth Construction if you value quality, honesty, and accountability. response to reply below. The only right thing to have done is to have paid the small amount to restore my new cabinets back to new vs your wanting to patch new cabinets ruined by your team.

Should have been a 5 star experience; it was a 2.5 star experience…read more On Day 2 of an estimated four day job, the owner of Colorado Fence and Deck showed up unnanounced to do a "walk through" while the work was ongoing. Shortly after, the crew left before all of the agreed upon work was completed. Crew lead returned later the same day to complete the work after I discussed my concerns with the owner. Within a couple of days, a deck floor board (actually two boards pieced together) near the deck entrances began to make noise when stepped on. The owner confirmed that he was aware that two boards were used when I expressed my concern. We set up another day for someone to come out and address the issue. The crew lead arrived on the agreed upon date and completed the replacement, as well as adjusted the fence gate repair that was already not working correctly. The request for the fence gate to be addressed was not communicated to the crew lead even though I included it in my appointment confirmation text. To date, the adjusted gate is currently working as expected. Unfortunately, the deck board that was replaced is also moving and is making noise, suggesting that the board is not secured as the other floor boards of the deck (which are not making noise). This problem is obvious by sound and feel, even when the dog walks on the deck board. As noted by another reviewer, some of the boards used on the deck probably should have been set aside for a more consistent quality deck floor. To date, the owner of Colorado Fence and Deck has not followed up to confirm that all of the repair work was completed satisfactorily. To be clear, the work has not been completed satisfactorily. 6.19.2026 Update Owner of CF&D contacted me after the Yelp review and agreed to send his crew to address the deck concern noted above. He also offered to improve communication, which was appreciated. The crew lead confirmed they made adjustments and tested the boards for the fix of the movement/noise. After three weeks of limited use, the repair continues to work, so I have updated the rating to three stars. Unfortunately, the gate issue has returned. I will be looking to see what other solutions I can implement to allow full time use of the much troubled gate.
