Rachelle is fantastic! She's a total pro, very creative, and just plain fun to shoot with. My husband and I had a blast with her during our sunset couples photos at the Twenty Mile House and she got the BEST shots throughout the entire day as well. She has got it all down to science in terms of perfecting when to shoot the groomsmen vs bridesmaids, nails getting the pretty smile shots AND the more organic candid ones (my fav!). Not only was she a pleasure to spend the day with, she is extremely responsive over email, went out of her way to give us little sneak peaks pretty darn quickly after the wedding, and everything in terms of delivery of the shots later on was well-organized and easy. She captured the essence of the day and our relationship as a couple perfectly. Now we have more than just a nice photo, we have the ability to relive our favorite moments together forever. I could not recommend her enough! You can't go wrong with Rachelle. We are SO grateful for her. read more

Rachelle is an amazing person and professional photographer who's easy to get along with. She did our family photos at Lake Almanor. She showed up on time and got along great with family members. The photos turned out really nice. read more

We used Composing Reality for our wedding at Twenty Mile House in July. Rachelle was a pleasure to work with. Her style is to mostly stay in the background and capture the day as it happens, but she was accessible and gave great advice when needed. This is something we really appreciated about her. We are very happy with all of our photos, and even received them ahead of her predicted timeline, which was an amazing surprise! read more

Rachelle is AMAZING!!!!! She did our engagement session and our wedding and she did not disappoint! I hate being photographed, I get super awkward and the photos always turn out terrible. But Rachelle's personality is so great, and she was so easy to talk to she made me feel like we had been friends for ages. She made me so comfortable and captured mine and my husband true personalities. She took so many great photos during our ceremony you can feel the joy and love that we experienced on our wedding day. During the reception she was like a ninja, she was everywhere and didn't miss capturing even the smallest moments/details of our day. My husband and I can't thank you enough for helping us celebrate and photographing our special day. My mom even said she wanted you to do our next family photo session. read more

Rachelle is an absolute gem and captures everything you want no questions asked. Most importantly, she is so kind, funny, and a true professional in every sense of the word. We loved working with her and highly highly highly recommend her. Rachelle is amazing! She shot our engagement photos and our wedding at Twenty Mile House. We love, love, LOVE her work from both events, and we truly couldn't have asked for more. She captured everything so beautifully. My wife and I are not photo people, had never done a photoshoot of any kind before, and were sure we weren't photogenic enough to get good wedding photos. We were wrong. Rachelle put us at ease every step of the way and allowed us to relax completely, so we look fantastic (and so HAPPY!) in our photos. She had the perfect demeanor - friendly, calm, organized, timely, enthusiastic, everything you could want in a wedding photographer! We are so grateful to Rachelle, not just for the photos she took but for how comfortable she made us on the day of. We feel lucky to have gotten to work with her. We highly, highly recommend Rachelle and Composing Reality, without hesitation!! read more

We hired Rachelle to take group photos for our family reunion. Wrangling 19 people (7 under the age of 10!) is not easy, but Rachelle made it look effortless. The service was reasonably priced, the photos are amazing and we will treasure the memories. Thanks, Rachelle! read more

Rachelle is AMAZING! We hired her for our September 2018 wedding at Twenty Mile House. From the very beginning she was responsive, helpful and an absolute joy to work with. On the day of the wedding she arrived and literally started working the second she walked in the door. In addition to the fabulous photos, she was so much fun to work with - she added another bright smile and a lot of humor to our big day. HIRE HER! read more

Composing Reality Photography - Rachelle's work speaks for itself! FLAWLESS - Event Photography Near Me

We had the pleasure of having Rachelle as our photographer at the Twenty Mile House. I asked the venue who did their collateral because all the pics were gorgeous which is what connected us and she did not disappoint. I love our pictures! She was our absolute favorite person to work with from our entire wedding weekend. Not only is she super responsive and helpful before the wedding but she's fun, patient, sweet and makes you feel comfortable for pictures. Almost like you're taking pictures with a friend. You absolutely will not regret working with Rachelle! Now what else can we plan so we can hire her again?!! read more

We have used Rachelle's services for our wedding pictures and we were absolutely satisfied. Before the event, she always promptly responded to all of our emails and phone calls. She flew to our wedding in Hawaii and even came with an assistant. She took a lot of pictures and she sent us a few hundreds edited pictures (on a 5 hours gig), which I believe involved a lot of post-editing work. We really liked her creativity and color compositions. Rachelle is very professional and easy to work with, while we sometimes didn't notice her presence (in a good way) we felt really comfortable during the photo shoots. read more

Rachelle is truly amazing; she was our wedding photographer for my same-sex marriage in August of 2014. Looking for a wedding photographer is a daunting task - and one that I invested a lot of time in. It was so hard to find the right person, because I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted candid, natural, beautiful photos that reflected my wedding day. I also didn't want someone to photoshop the truth away, and so that presented another challenge. When I found Rachelle's website I was instantly interested; when my husband and I met with Rachelle for the first time on Skype I was elated! Rachelle has a calm, honest, kind personality that felt instantly perfect. She's one of those people that you feel you've known forever after knowing her for only minutes. She's clearly an old soul. Rachelle made laying out the terms of our agreement simple, and really conformed to whatever worked best for us. The day of the wedding she showed up right on time, and instantly got to work. Rachelle ran away with my husband and I for an amazing 1-on-1 shoot before the wedding, and then stayed into the night with us as we moved through each stage of the wedding. She was truly hidden from view, and always moving and laughing at every turn. Everyone adored her. The turnaround time on our photos was just as promised, and she even sent some bonuses like a beautiful montage on my facebook. Her photos all came out stunning! I could not write a more positive review for her!!! I have been recommending her to everyone I know that's getting married and looking for someone to capture their day as it truly happened. Thank you so much Rachelle! read more

Rachelle Elliott from Composing Reality was phenomenal to work with! High praise and recommendations from Twenty Mile House! She worked along side 32 Degrees Media and I couldn't say how perfect they worked with, and alongside, one another! If you book one, definitely book the other! Rachelle was able to capture many beautiful moments, during our unplugged ceremony, our photoshoot, the reception, speeches, you name it! All of our photographs were beautiful! She knows how to capture a scene with the best angles, lighting, and people! I wish I could give Rachelle a higher review! Thank you Rachelle Elliott from Composing Reality! read more

We had our April 2017 engagement shoot at the San Francisco Golden Gate Park, and our June 2018 wedding at one of Plumas' finest (if not the best) outdoor wedding venues - the Twenty Mile House. No doubt, Rachelle nailed our photos in every way. We wanted documentary-style, vintage-feel photos to represent both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. Rachelle is talented, professional and easy to get along with. The last thing we wanted is to have an intimidating photographer who would make us feel uptight in front of the camera. Rachelle has a way of bringing out our natural actions, body movement and facial expressions on each photograph. She has a keen eye for special wedding moments, and makes sure she captures them in full drama. Lastly, it doesn't take long for her to release her work, as opposed to many photographers that take months to complete. Thank you for helping us preserve our special moments! read more

Rachelle is incredible. She photographed our wedding on very short notice, and was very accommodating in terms of helping with location, suggestions, etc. and got our photos back to us in record time. She is so comfortable to work with and talk to and it showed in our photos which look so natural (and we were pretty nervous on the wedding day!). I would recommend her to anyone, but prepare yourself for tears when you get your photos back! read more

I selected Rachelle on line because she is one of the rare few who will give you all of the good photos on disc at no extra charge. Every other photographer wants to dole out your photos charging you for each one without ever giving you the access to print from a disc. I wanted someone to document the days events and to blend in; getting the story and the behind the scenes photos. We paid for four hours of photography, and I received 189 absolutely gorgeous photos. I dare say the best we have ever had! I had several friends who did not make it to Hawaii call to tell me how amazing the photos were. Two of them cried being able to share all of our moments with us. We received detailed stunning shots of every aspect from the jewelry and flowers, to the nervous groom. There are so many good shots I barely know how I am going to narrow these down for large prints. I can put the photos to music, print as many as I like, share them with friends on facebook, and whatever else I may want. I can't wait for another event in which we can use Rachelle again. Thank you for making our day as good as it gets. Thank you for capturing the most important moments of our lifetime. I am sure we will look back in thirty years and enjoy them even more then we do now! Aloha from Max and Robin Galvan & Ohana read more

Rachelle photographed my daughter's wedding at Twenty Mile House in September. She was incredibly easy to work with and so comfortable to be around that, to be honest, we forgot she was there! Rachelle was in frequent contact with my daughter in the months leading up to the wedding and provided invaluable guidance and expertise to ensure she captured the wedding and reception in a way that was meaningful to the bride and groom. The images of this special day will be treasured forever. Many friends and family members have said that these were the best wedding photographs they had ever seen - and we agree! I can't say enough about how awesome Rachelle with Composing Reality is. She recently photographed my wedding at the Twenty Mile House, and my husband and I could not be happier with how everything went! She was our obvious choice upon looking through her portfolio from the venue; she captures the lighting and essence of the property so well, while still allowing the couple to shine. She was on time, flexible and organized, and was so easy to work with. She made my husband and I extremely comfortable during our photos, and had the cutest ideas for backdrops, poses, and moments to capture. I am so impressed by how she managed to fit in all that we were hoping for out of pictures, especially given how large and picturesque the TMH property is; I imagine it is not easy to fit it all in! She has the added benefit of being intimately familiar with the TMH grounds, which added to her efficiency when capturing all the photogenic spots. She also had a great sense of humor, integrated well with the wedding party, made some great on-the-fly decisions. We absolutely can't wait to see the end result, and know the pictures will be incredible. read more

My husband and I got married in Kauai in July of 2011. Rachelle was our photographer and she was amazing. It was just myself, my husband, and an officiant. The moment I met Rachelle I felt like we had been friends for years. She helped me get ready and instantly put me at ease. She captured moments that were priceless and too photographs at times I don't even remember her holding the camera. He knowledge of lighting and angle is amazing. I was blown away by the photographs and shocked that she had them ready for us on a CD within days. I wish I could give Rachelle more than a five star rating, her professionalism, and knowledge base was amazing. Even now, three plus years later we still talk about her. We have a photograph that she took on our fireplace mantel that gets compliments from every person who sees it. read more

I could not be more impressed with Rachelle and the amazing photos which she took of our wedding. Prior to our wedding, Rachelle and I had several conversations regarding what type of "vibe" I wanted for our wedding photos. She also encouraged me to send her examples of styles/shots that I liked, so that she could be sure to give me exactly what I wanted. Rachelle did not disappoint, and she provided me with the exact "boho chic" pictures that I was hoping for (at about half the price of all of her competitors). Rachelle was willing to work with us on times and budget concerns, and she even travels for free, which no one else does... ever. During our wedding, Rachelle was creative, thought outside of the box regarding shots (the last thing I wanted was the traditional cheesy wedding photos), and she was just a cool person to be around. We got married at the Twenty Mile House, Rachelle knew the property well and provided us with a wide range of shooting locations. (On a side note, if you are looking for a wedding venue the Twenty Mile House is gorgeous, and you HAVE to use Rachelle there). Following our wedding, Rachelle had all of our photos edited in about a week, and every single photo was gorgeous! I'm not photogenic at all and she made me look stunning! Oh, and you get to keep EVERY photo, unlike other photographers who often make you pay per picture. As you can tell, I had a fantastic experience with Rachelle and I would highly recommend using her! read more
