Absolutely loved everything about this little boutique hotel!!…read more Location: Right in the heart of Puerto Del Sol so perfect for a Madrid first-timer like myself. Never walked more than 15 minutes in any direction to get to the must-see sights. Tons of store and food options all around. You cannot take a taxi directly up to the door because it is in a pedestrian only area, however it is less than a 5 minute walk from the street drop off. The paths around it do get packed with people every night because it's such a hot tourist spot though, so if looking for something quite/lowkey this area may not be for you. As for the hotel itself the rooms are very clean, and modern. You would never know it from the lobby area which is very minimal and the hallways are pretty dark but I believe it is more of an aesthetic thing. I stayed in their Premium single room for 6 nights which had a comfy queen bed, great lighting, huge shower area, and the room itself was pretty spacious. The TV is huge and always you to chrome cast from your phone so you can keep bingeing your fav Netflix show during your downtime. My only issue with the room (and my friends in two other rooms had the same) was that the windows face inward to each other and the building is pretty high so it's tough to get natural lighting especially on the lower floors. There is also no view unless you book one of the rooms with a terrace I assume. Also have to add that the staff was fantastic from start to finish. They answered all of our questions well and with enthusiasm even though we did not speak the language. On our first day they informed us of free tours we could take, there are three they offer and we did one of them which was great for learning the lay of the land. They also offer coffee, tea, juice, and fruit 24/7 in a lounge at the basement of the hotel. On top of that they left a bag with a couple mini pastries and box water every morning. Even when we were checking out at 3am the desk person was running around making sure we got our bag before we left. Overall amazing hotel and would book again in a second especially for the price. I've stayed at big name "fancier" hotels and have to say I wasn't half as impressed as I was with my stay here. Highly recommend.

I liked the bed linens, the scent of the soap, and the access to the main road where I had a balcony view. This was unquestionably our favorite shower in Spain. Anyone and everyone who works at the front desk is incredibly helpful and friendly! Anyways, the sol station is a very short distance to the hotel. Its in puerta del sol, which would normally be a nice area but they were protesting so many things there that it gets busy particularly at night and noisy too. Fortunately theres a police station close by to the area, to keep the crowd at bay. Check in was quick. Room 128. Its a beautiful room. Windows open, overlooking the street below and the parking structure. You can definitely here people at night, which can get annoying. The water pressure on the shower was amazing. Gets extremely hot, so thats nice. The bed was nice and firm. AC works super well. Multiple elevators so we were able to go up and down quickly. The couch in the room was nice to sit on and lay on. And the long desk table too was nice. Able to play all our luggage on it!! Room was thoughtfully put together, and not tiny at all. They have free breakfasts. Staff there is super nice. Good food. Lots of different types of coffees and drinks. Great variety of choices including breads, meats, cheeses and pastries. They actually have packets of ketchup here, amd even little containers of olive oil!! I enjoyed the central-ness of the hotel. Plaza Mayor, the palace, the 3 major museums and the parks were all within walking distance. So many places to choose to eat at and walk around. They give you a voucher for a free tapas and drink between 12 and 3. So thats nice. But there is no coffee maker in the room. You can pay money for one. And they have no iron as well. But you can pay for dry cleaning services. You can also get late check out, but you guessed it, for a fee also. They do hold onto your lugguage at no cost though upon check out which is nice. I enjoyed the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. I also enjoyed that in Madrid, just like all of Spain, tipping js not required. Would stay again, but I would make sure first that puerta del sol is clear next time.

Built in 1915, this hotel is beautiful from the outside. My flight arrived very early and my room wasn't ready upon arrival. They held my luggage while I did some strolling and exploring. Perfect for exploring because this is located in the heart of Madrid. I strolled to the Real Jardin Botanico, Palacio Real de Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Puerta del Sol & The Prado. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, as well. We were given a corner room which is very large and views of all the activity below. Bathroom was large, as well. There is a Rooftop bar, but it was closed while we were visiting (only open in the summer). Rooftop pool we experienced sunshine and laid on the deck, but there are only a few loungers and its on the small size. Restaurant on premises, Gran Clavel, is very good. Breakfast is excellent. A great location for my first visit to Madrid.

It is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main attractions, but easily accessible by metro or taxi. The staff were the friendliest we have encountered- they we charming and welcoming and went above and beyond their basic duties to make us feel relaxed and at home. They provided a wealth of information of the city, as well as for our short trip to Toledo and road trip to Basque country. They really made our stay in Madrid more enjoyable. When we checked in, we were offered complementary champagne. Unfortunately we were both under the weather and couldn't drink alcohol for most of our trip (in Spain, nonetheless). The decor is grand and feels antique in a good way - It's not that modern floor to ceiling glass/hipster antique wood stuff that you get everywhere nowadays. This also means that our rooms were S P A C I O U S. I think staying here ruined most of the other hotel rooms we stayed in around Spain. Here, we had a huge bedroom with a comfortable plush couch. The coffee table was stocked with complimentary fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. The bathroom consisted of 2 rooms- the toilets were separated by it's own door. The sink had 2 faucets. The hallway had a wraparound corner closet larger than the closet I have at home. I have to say that this was one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed at- between the decor and the staff, our stay was wonderful. I've already been telling all my friends about this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again the next time we are in Madrid.
