Michigan Auto Recyclers

In my one purchase from Michigan Auto Recyclers, I've had a very difficult experience. I ordered…read moreparts for my vehicle to be shipped from Michigan to east coast, and the shipping has been extremely delayed due to mistakes and miscommunications at this business. First, it was very difficult for me to receive a tracking number after I had purchased my Parts. Employee's informed me they would call me back with updates on the shipping, but I had to reach out half a dozen times to receive any update whatsoever. I was often told that 'The computer was frozen', amongst other excuses, including an employee not knowing how to attach a PDF of my receipt to an email, and me having to guide them through the process. I did not receive any shipping information for over two weeks after I placed the order and payed nearly $1000 to this business. Then, after my item was finally delivered to the drop off point, Michigan Auto Recyclers had made a mistake on the paperwork and the drop off location was unable to properly process the package, delaying the whole experience by 3 or 4 days. Dealing with this business was a huge ordeal and I can not say I would reccomened them. I'm sure some customers have had positive experiences, and they are an honest business that means well, but the level of incompetence was completely unreasonable in this instance. I have no expectations at this point, but from a customer perspective I would hope Michigan Auto Recyclers would be willing to make things right with a partial shipping cost reimbursement for having to spend a considerable amount of unnecessary time and energy to deal with the incompetence of this transaction.

"DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE REVIEWS! This company doesn't even deserve one star, let alone five. The…read moreidea that anyone could rate them that highly is either a flat-out lie or complete delusion. They showed up an ENTIRE DAY AND NIGHT late, with zero communication or apology. Then, to make matters even worse, they had the nerve to try and tell me my car was missing parts--what an absolute joke! I'm the original owner of the car, and it has NEVER been worked on aside from routine tire changes. Their claim is not just absurd; it's an outright scam. I was going to be generous and leave a 3-star review despite their incompetence, but after seeing countless other customers reporting THE SAME SHADY TACTICS, I'm dropping it to a 1. Honestly, I wish I could go lower. This is a pattern of deceit and dishonesty that should not be ignored. OUTRAGEOUS. This company is a disgrace--SHAME ON THEM!"

He had been pointing at the wrong area and said it was missing (and when I started looking closer to the right area he said it wouldn't be there). Definitely short changed if not downright ripped off. Oh, and he said I should be very happy with what he paid because it was far more than he would normally give for a car without a catalytic converter!

I'll just say the facts and not embellish…read more They provided great service when informing me about the process of receiving an engine, and wrapped the engine tight and secure when delivering it to me. Absolutely lovely. However, the engine has low compression and I need to take it out of my car to get another one installed.

When I got home, I was finally able to take it in, and was told that I had a cracked wheel. The next day at work, I was griping to a couple friends about how much this was likely to cost and they both suggested that I go to a junkyard. I had always heard about junkyards, but had never been to one. When I checked the yellow pages, I was happy to see that there was one so close to me and decided to go check it out. Boy, am I glad I did! Price at Discount Tire - $155; price at Ryan's Junkyard - $85, plus a $10 rebate for giving them the cracked wheel. It was a pretty cool experience, too. It is in the ghetto (8 Mile & Wyoming) but if you don't mind that its a definite gold mine. All the people are super friendly and helpful - and trilingual. They've got a whole yard plus a couple warehouses of scrapped cars and salvaged parts, so you can find pretty much anything you need at a good price. Now that I know where this is, and am familiar with how it works, I will definitely go here whenever I need anything in the future.
