My father was a home builder for 50 years who also built custom cabinets, so I've seen how they are…read moremade and know a good product. And Victor of Hoosier Custom Cabinet Designs is as good as my father ever was. We hired him six years ago after seeing all the custom cabinets he built in his own home in Mount Dora. Our home was built in 1963 and our plan was to preserve the vintage look of the original cabinets in our bathroom and kitchen. Not only did Victor improve my original cabinet design, he added lots of ingenious storage areas in a very tight bathroom. The install was seamless and no one has ever guessed which cabinet is original and which is brand new. The only way to see the difference is when you open a drawer, as Victor utilized the new ball bearing drawer slides. There was a small issue with a router profile that Victor promptly and happily fixed. Fast forward to 2019...time to finally redo the kitchen. One problem, previous owners had removed a lower cabinet to install a dishwasher...something we don't use. Since the original cabinets were in place, solidly built and totally functional, we needed a cabinet made to EXACTLY replicate the existing cabinets. Victor to the rescue once again. He actually did several design consultations with me and offered the perfect cabinet drawer spacing and MATCHED to a 't' the 1963 cabinets. I did have to knock down the corners of the drawer fronts to match the old cabinets, but otherwise no problems. He and his installer Tony expertly shortened two upper cabinets in order for a taller refrigerator and over the stove microwave/vent. In an older home you never know what you're gonna run in to...but they both worked together and solved numerous issues so the redo would go smoothly. Sometimes I can be indecisive, but Victor was very patient when I changed my mind a couple of times on a minor issue. It all worked out wonderfully and we are THRILLED with the finished product. Topnotch craftsman. My dad would be proud.

He came and evaluated the piece and we decided to do an in home touch up which I'm really pleased with! I've had this piece since I was a child so it has sentimental value as well as being a quality piece. He also did a couple smaller fixes on two other pieces of furniture I had. Speaking of the right skillset -- Steven, the lead technician on the job, was just phenomenal to work with. Have you ever met someone who just really knows their stuff and makes you feel at ease? That's Steven in a nutshell. He's worked in all aspects of construction and it shows in his confidence and the quality of his work. He kept me in the loop throughout the entire job and made sure I was completely satisfied. Additionally, I had relayed some struggles I was having caring for my elderly father, and he was a sympathetic ear - offering some advice and ultimately assuring me that he had my back on the house repairs so that I could focus on helping my Dad. I must say we had reservations about hiring this company. The only reason being that they did not have a storefront. When we decided to call Mike Compete Remodel, we scheduled a consultation with Mike over the phone. Mike showed up to our house on the scheduled day. He came with cases of door samples. He took his time taking careful measurements of our kitchen so that we can receive our proposal and 3D renderings. We were impressed by the look and colors of the cabinets he showed up with. My husband and I already knew we wanted shaker cabinets for our kitchen. Mike directed us to the cabinets in the colors we wanted and we made a choice. Gray for base cabinets and white for the top cabinets. We also wanted a feature wall that housed some kind of rustic wood shelving. Within a few days we had a proposal and renderings emailed to us. My husband and I were torn between choosing a big box store or Mikes Complete Remodel to design our kitchen. After getting quotes from smaller business and big box stores we ultimately chose Complete Remodel for its very competitive price. We acted as our own contractors as we coordinated all the different aspects of our remodel from electrician, plumber, flooring, etc. Not all companies are truthful and get the job done right. Especially the company we hired to do our drywall job. After a botched job, we were skeptics to everyone who came in to do a job in our house. It was bad to feel this way and not trust anyone. It almost made us worry about how the kitchen would come out. Once Mike and his crew came in, they worked diligently and were precise with everything they put together. Mike was a true perfectionist. We felt a little more at ease. Mike and his crew worked from the moment they walked in, in the morning to the moment is was time to go. They constructed our cabinets in one day and hung them the next. Because we had other aspects of our home getting done in between Mike suggested ordering countertops. While we waited for that to be done, we had plumbers electricians come in to do their part. A work out perfectly and it gave him the treasures and plumbers a day to complete their jobs without crowding each other on the same day. When that was done Mike and his crew came back to complete the rest of the kitchen was in three days they were done. If you count the total days they were in my home it barely comes out to a week. Our kitchen looks beautiful. The cabinets look amazing as well as a countertops. We threw in a few extra jobs for them to do that very "into our price. We had a backsplash that we bought materials for and shelving's, with brackets, hanging light rails underneath the cabinet, and we asked if they fixed the texture on the wall that the previous drywall company had butchered. The end result was amazing. Texture the walls perfectly. It made us wish we had just hired them for the drywall from the beginning. It will save us time and headaches. The complete job was excellent accidentally done thanks Mike and his crew for their professionalism. We had a couple of minor. I must also mention how clean they were. They continuously vacuum after any little mess they made and at the end of every day. We are very grateful and amazed at how wonderful our kitchen looks. read more
