Jennifer is a miracle worker. Vader is an almost 18 month old Newfie who weights close to 170 lbs. He is naturally a really sweet and pretty well behaved dog but we were having a huge issue with pulling during walks. My husband could manage him pretty well but I didn't feel comfortable walking him on my own as he would go crazy when he saw other dogs, trying to rush over and play, and it took every ounce of my strength to restrain him. After one session with Jennifer, he is 100% different. She introduced us to an e-collar which we'd never considered before and Vader caught on within an hour. Jennifer set us up with all the equipment we'd need at a very fair price and has been wonderful to work with. We have returned for a few more sessions to work on other skills and are so thrilled with the progress we've seen.

Jennifer is an amazing Dog Whisperer. Within one hour she had broken 4 bad habits of our little guy. We went so far as to board him with Jennifer and within 4 days it's amazing what he learned. I loved all her techniques. She sent us photos of him every day with the new items he mastered. We are using her again next month to bring him to the next level. Can't believe we have such an amazing dog trainer on the island! Christen~

Jennifer is wonderful enthusiastic trainer. With her knowledge and fantastic skills, BEN became precious part of our family !

    Tanzie is 4 years old

I first met Jennifer April 2018.I had adopted Tanzie December: 2017. She was timid and flinched every time we petted her. I had been referred to a Vet Behaviorist. Tanzie was doing better, but I felt we missing a piece of the puzzle. Jennifer and I met. She helped me learn how to help Tanzie be more confident. She is a happy Mal Gal. Rocko is my 5 month old male Mal puppy. He is definitely a big goofy puppy. I was trying to train Rocko and I was having trouble with him. Jennifer has worked with him. He is calmer at times and always want to please. I feel very blessed to have Jennifer as my Trainer. If I could stand on a mountaintop and shout to everyone I would. Jennifer cares about the dogs she works with. Her passion for training is so awesome. I know Jennifer will work me to help Rocko becomes sound working dog. I would recommend Jennifer for your training needs.

Jennifer has been amazing! She has been training my 15 month old English Setter Finley and me for a few weeks now and the change has been incredible. Finley is a hunting breed so his instinct to pull and chase was driving me crazy. We had tried all kinds of leashes, harnesses etc... but nothing worked. When he started lunging at cyclist this was the last straw. After a few sessions with Jennifer Finley walks on a loose leash and only pulls occasionally. The right tools and the correct handling taught by Jennifer have made our outings with Finley a pleasure! I would highly recommend her!

Jennifer was recommended to us to help train our Mini Schnauzer Ingo who was too smart for his own good! I did training with her along with Ingo and now she'll take him for the day on his own. I think she helped train me more than our pup :) The best advice she gave me when training him out of bad behavior is that it's not personal, and he'll be happier in the long run. He was leash aggressive and recently we took him to a street festival in town where there were a ton of dogs walking around and he was a gem. Guess who we ran into - Jennifer! Thank you for ALL that you do!

We came to Jennifer after adopting a 1.5 year old rescue named jack. He was a stray and had no record or history. We were desperate as our wonderful new dog had some serious anxiety issues, leash aggression, barking at everything on walks, and no previous leash training. We knew his potential and as his new owners and forever home, it was our responsibility to find help. All I can say is that Jennifer has helped us so much with each of these issues. But please note: training does not happen over night. You must follow the teaching she provides and be consistent to see results. In the end Jennifer ended up reaching us how to be better pet owners. After all, it's up to us to give the dog instructions and his job to follow. If you don't know how to give the right commands, your dog surely won't know how to follow! We absolutely love Jennifer and our dog is becoming the best he can be thanks to her

We had already tried multiple trainers, different techniques, and even followed our vet's suggestion to try antidepressants--but nothing was helping (in fact, the medication only made things worse). The moment I spoke to Kathy on the phone, I felt confident she truly understood the problem and could guide us in the right direction. And she absolutely has. Over the past year, Checkers has made tremendous progress thanks to Kathy's knowledge, patience, and the clear guidance she gave us. We followed her suggestions carefully--even switching vets based on her recommendation--and the results have been life-changing. Earlier this year, we had to travel out of the country and trusted Kathy to board Checkers. During that time, he developed a beautiful bond with her partner Dan. This was nothing short of amazing, as Checkers has always been fearful of men. Watching their relationship grow has been such a gift. With Kathy's help (and the influence of her own two balanced dogs), Checkers has learned how to be a dog--something I once thought might never happen. He now participates in pack walks and can even run off-leash in the fields, something I couldn't have imagined a year ago. If you're struggling with your dog's behavior and feel like nothing is working, do yourself and your dog a favor and call Kathy. She and Dan have changed our lives, and I am endlessly grateful for the care and dedication they've shown to Checkers and to us.

We moved away when she was 6 months old, and the transition was really hard on my pup. We returned to the area and she is now 16 months old, I called Karan right away. My pup had become very reactive toward other dogs and people, barking and freaking out, seeing red and lunging at other dogs. He was able to quickly help me see how some of the things I was doing -- with the best intentions -- were actually making things worse for my dog. That insight alone was incredibly helpful and reassuring. Karan is assertive, extremely knowledgeable, and knows exactly how to guide both dog and owner toward success. One of the biggest things he helped me realize is how important my own confidence is in shaping my dog's behavior. That shift alone made a huge difference. He is professional, reliable, and consistently follows through. He even drives out to us, which makes training so much easier. Beyond that, he is always communicative, responsive via text, and available when we need support. Karan has truly become our go-to trainer, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for effective, high-quality training. Thank you Karan!

We've been seeing him two to three times a month for the past few months, and he consistently knows what he's doing. He gives clear suggestions, shows you exactly how to implement them in training sessions, and you get to see firsthand how well they work. Unlike other trainers I've spoken to in the Bay Area, he keeps things simple and effective, and he's great about answering questions between sessions when something comes up. He's flexible, easy to communicate with, and genuinely invested in your dog's progress. I suggest bringing a pen and paper because the small tips he drops are the ones you'll want to remember. Thanks to him, my King Charles Cavalier is now holding his pee for almost six hours, and I've learned how to attune without slipping into the "my dog must be sad" spiral. He's not sad -- he's a happy little guy who just needs structure, attention, and, well... training. Highly recommend!!!

Bit of background: Maggie has done 12 weekly group training sessions with another trainer and is generally well-behaved. However, she doesn't read the social signals from other dogs well (ex: when they want to be left alone), tends to jump on everyone at all times, doesn't respond to commands unless there's a treat involved, and lacks confidence. What I enjoyed about the program is that it includes several in person training sessions during the B&T. We got to see Maggie's progress as time went on and most importantly, we were trained on their behavior psychology and how to become the leaders of our pack. I will say I was nervous about implenting the ecollar but Bryan has demonstrated that it is a safe and effective training tool-- I got to see it used as a tool for correction that Maggie actually responded well to. Maggie is coming home tomorrow and hand-off includes an in-home training sessions to ensure her progress doesn't regress which I appreciate. From what I've seen, Maggie has become more confident, responds to recalls in distracting places (no treats involved), learned to self-soothe, and plays/greets other dogs/people with manners. Truly the best investment I've made in my dog and I'd highly recommend Mutt and Tumble to all dog parents!

I worked with Bryan to help my doodle, Ruby, with selective reactivity. Ruby has always been very…read moresweet and highly obedient -- I've done a lot of positive reinforcement training with her -- but when it came to reactivity, that approach wasn't working. If anything, it sometimes amped her up more. Importantly, she wasn't reactive across the board. She was totally fine on dog walks and at parks. The issues showed up when she was on leash passing dogs, when she felt territorial, and especially with dogs or animals on TV -- she would charge the screen. It felt unpredictable and like it was getting worse, not better. I was nervous about changing approaches because I'd had a bad experience with board-and-train in the past, but I knew I needed to rethink how I was helping her. We started with several in-person sessions so I could fully understand and feel comfortable with the training philosophy and how e-collar training would be introduced. That foundation made a big difference for me. After that, Ruby did a three-week board and train. When she came home, there was a noticeable shift. A few weeks later, while I was out of town over the holidays, I had her go back for an additional week, which also went really well. After the board-and-train, Bryan also did a lesson with my parents in the East Bay, who are Ruby's primary caretakers when I'm out of town. That follow-through meant a lot -- making sure everyone was aligned created real consistency for her. The results have honestly been transformative. She still has occasional moments (as all dogs do), and I keep the e-collar on her to reinforce boundaries, but the trajectory has completely changed. For example, she now sees dogs on TV and doesn't react -- even without the collar on. She sat through the entire Super Bowl, ads and all, without charging the screen, which felt like a major milestone. I can now take her to cafés, and for the first time, I genuinely believe one day I'll be able to bring her to work. Instead of her reactivity escalating, it feels like we've unlocked a new, calmer path forward. The only area for improvement would be communication during the board-and-train portion. I'm used to receiving frequent photos and videos when my dog is away, and updates were more limited -- typically one photo or video per day when I prompted, usually at the dog park. I would have loved more visibility into what her training days looked like, especially footage of the specific reactivity work (like TV desensitization). Overall, I'm incredibly grateful. Ruby is still her sweet self, but with clearer boundaries and far more confidence. That step change has made a huge difference for both of us.

And right from the beginning Jared was patient, professional, and really took the time to learn and explain my dog's behavior and our specific concerns. I had some concerns about leash training and how my dog responded to visitors at the door. Jared guided us with step by step approaches that were easy to follow. And almost immediately after our first visit, I started noticing behavioral changes with my dog. I even noticed the changes on our walks. The tips and techniques regarding leash training was so helpful. Things that I never even thought would affect my dog's behavior, Jared brought to light. She was quiet and a bit confused in those early days, and we honestly didn't know what "normal" even looked like. We started working with Jared literally the day after we brought her home, and that made all the difference. What stood out right away is that he doesn't just train the dog, he helps you understand your dog's psychology. That shift was huge for us. Instead of guessing or reacting, we started to feel like we actually knew what she needed and how to respond. He guided us through the basics like potty training and getting her to sleep through the night, and once those clicked, life got dramatically easier. More importantly, he gave us a framework we can keep using as new challenges come up. Our puppy still has some separation anxiety and can be a bit needy, but now it feels manageable. We're making steady, incremental progress and feel confident we have the tools to keep going. Jared has also been great with our whole family. He builds trust quickly, explains things clearly, and makes everyone feel comfortable and capable. You never feel judged or overwhelmed. If you're a first-time dog owner, especially with a young puppy, I'd strongly recommend working with him early. It sets the right foundation and saves you a lot of stress down the line.
