I've had scoliosis since kid (very common when you wear heavy backpack on one shoulder or play a single dominant arm sport like Tennis), and I also have L6 (its a congenital anomaly, most people are born with 5 Lumbars on lower back but I was born with 6, so L5 and L6 are always fighting for the single spot). So, needless to say I am in forever in constant need of care because when my lower back is overworked or pulled when I am careless, I'm in immediate pain. I have been seeing Dr. Serena Penn and she is very knowledgeable and has adjusted my lower back and helped me with my knee pain (which is caused my my lower back and glutes from prolonged sitting). She's also given me very easy, passive exercise that I can do on daily basis and they have significantly improved my condition. If you have lower back pain or if you're in need of adjustment, I would suggest to go here. I also really appreciate that they're not judgemental about pains you describe because joint, muscle and nerve pains are sometimes extremely hard to describe because they come and go. They listen and make sure to correctly diagnose you before adjustment. Lastly, very friendly staff, and you know exactly how much you will be charged before you go in for care so no surprise bills that randomly show up in the mail. Overall, I highly recommend Stemp Family Chiropractic!

I originally went to doctor young because I had been in a head on collision and needed treatment on…read moremy back and neck which was a good experience. I got diagnosed with a very serious health issue and decided that I would continue my care with him as the chiropractic side of it went great. I've been going to him for this for a couple of months and now that my health issues are getting worse I've had serious issues sleeping and can only sleep for like 10-15 minutes at a time then up for hours and it is keeping me from being able to go to work because I don't have the energy as I'm not getting close to the amount of rest I need. I went to doctor young and I explained to him that I needed something to help me sleep at night because I was getting 0 to an hour of sleep a night and I needed to be able to go to work and function. He prescribes me a "natural sleep aid" and says this will help me sleep. So I spend 25+ dollars for the medicine and go home and take it as soon as I get home because I hadn't slept in 24 hours and had to miss another day of work so I figured I'd utilize the day to sleep and rest. Long story short I ended up taking about 5-6 of these pills that were supposed to help me sleep and never got tired and was up all day and all night. Insurance doesn't cover the natural medicine so all the medicine has to be paid for out of pocket. So I was very upset that I paid 25+ dollars for 30 pills I call and asked for him to prescribe me and actual medicine at the pharmacy that would actually help me get some sleep and his response was that the medicine he prescribed takes up to 6 days to start working..... 6 freakin days!!!!!! I told him from the beginning that I needed something to help me sleep that night not in 6 days. Never have I felt so upset when he knows what I've been diagnosed with and the issues I was having. Dr Young is about lining his pockets and not helping his patients. Not to mention that he is as filling out my leave paperwork and instead of putting down a realistic time frame that I'd be off work which is around two months he puts down that I'd be on leave for a year!!!! Like it was denied immediately!!! What kind of idiot is this clown. I was sitting there to answer any questions and he never asked how long my treatment would be and I assumed because he was my primary he was in touch with the other doctors but apparently not. This guy totally screwed up my paperwork on top of selling me something the wasn't helpful. I would NEVER go back to this guy. He has totally set me back and now I'm left scrambling to find a new primary care doctor and only have so many days to resubmit my paperwork. Very unprofessional to say the least!!!!!

I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Dave and the entire team at Discover Life Chiropractic! A longtime…read morefriend had been telling me for years to come here and get adjusted, but I hesitated because of all the myths I had heard about chiropractic care. I actually sent my husband first! He has chronic back pain and injuries from serving in the Army and prefers more natural approaches before considering major medical interventions. After his initial assessment and first adjustment with Dr. Dave, he immediately said, "Wow, I feel so much better." Seeing his experience--and learning so much during his assessment--finally encouraged me to schedule my own. At that point, Dr. Dave was honestly my last resort before moving forward with spinal injections or minimally invasive procedures. I had chronic lower back pain, migraines/headaches, and a history of multiple car accidents. The pain had become unbearable and was limiting my everyday activities. As a mom of a three-year-old, I needed to be able to keep up with her. During my evaluation, I learned that it wasn't only my lower back that needed attention--my neck was also a major problem. I had dealt with chronic migraines and headaches for years but never connected them to my neck or spine. Sometimes my neck would even feel like needles when trying to hold my head up. The knowledge Dr. Dave provides about chiropractic care and how it relates specifically to YOUR individual assessment is unmatched. After my assessment, Dr. Dave adjusted my back and neck. When he adjusted my neck, I felt INSTANT relief from pain and tension I had experienced for years--so much relief that all I could do was cry. I also felt like I could breathe better, especially through my nose. I literally felt like I was floating on clouds! It was one of the best feelings ever. Dr. Dave gave me an individualized care plan and explained when I should expect to notice improvement. Since I had already seen the difference chiropractic care was making for my husband, I was 100% on board. We started addressing my problem areas aggressively, usually 2-3 times a week when my schedule allows. By my SIXTH adjustment, I noticed a complete difference in my activity and tolerance levels. I could do everyday activities with significantly fewer limitations. The biggest thing for me: I was already scheduled for spinal injections before starting chiropractic care. After only SIX adjustments, I CANCELLED my spinal injections because I no longer felt that I needed them! I am no longer in pain the way I used to be. If I notice myself tensing up, I use the stretches I've learned and get adjusted. My migraines and headaches have also become much less frequent. Scheduling adjustments is extremely easy, and Discover Life offers additional services, including massage--which is next on my list because I've heard Ms. Tammy is amazing, and my husband already gets massages there. Regardless of which provider you see, the team provides individualized care plans, recommendations, therapeutic treatments, and at-home exercises and stretches. They even have videos on their YouTube page, so if you forget an exercise, you can go back and review it. My personal favorites are the exercise ball and foam roller. Combining those exercises with my adjustments has made a HUGE difference for me. Chiropractic care has become something our whole family participates in, including our daughter. I truly wish I had gone to Dr. Dave years sooner. Starting care here has been one of the best decisions I've made for myself and my family. With their technology, expertise, individualized approach, and variety of treatments, I would absolutely recommend checking out Discover Life Chiropractic--from adults and veterans to pregnant women and families with children. And a HUGE shoutout to the entire Discover Life team! Scheduling is easy, communication is great, and we are always made to feel welcome.

I highly recommend Dr. Matt! After seeing multiple doctors and being told that I had to live with…read moreserious, debilitating chronic pain for the rest of my life, a friend recommended Dr. Matt. Dr. Matt (who has been practicing for 25 years) is a Palmer Chiropractic graduate. Palmer is located in Iowa and is known for producing high quality practitioners. Dr. Matt uses both table and physical adjustments. Because my entire body was injured in an assault from drunk teens at a Walgreens, he treats my entire body (not just the part that is hurting). Speed a few years ahead and I am nearly 100% healed (I had a couple of trip and falls after my first visit). Now whenever I have any issues, I see Dr. Matt first before I try anything else. Dr. Matt also sees my entire family. He has an affordable family care package for a family like ours. We have insurance, but unfortunately, the insurance does not cover chiropractic care. Dr. Matt has a monthly wellness plan for a nominal monthly amount for two health adjustments per month. The family package is shareable within my family so if more than 2 visits are required, we can draw from the family package. (His package deal is at least 1/2 the costs of other local chiropractors so our family can afford his care). I can't submit this review without mentioning Dr. Matt's staff. His office manager is Stacy, and we have to say she is most likely the kindest person walking this earth. Stacy makes every single patient feel welcome and at ease, takes time to listen to each person who enters this practice and to answer any questions. She is never too busy to connect with each patient. Crystal is the other staff that works part time and she is also lovely. Crystal was the first person I met at Dr. Matt's business. She even stood out in front of the building to help me find the office on my first visit. Kind and compassionate staff. Bonuses: Dr. Matt treats all ages - from babies and young children to adults. Additionally, Dr. Matt doesn't gaslight you and tell you that you are crazy for having pain. It isn't instant relief and there is a process to go through for chiropractic care, but it REALLY WORKS. If you are looking for relief from pain from an injury, Dr. Matt is the way to go. I highly recommend University Place Chiropractic.
